The Dorsal Boutique Hotel

Loved the location. I loved the comfort and friendly staff.

I didn’t like how when we asked how when we asked for a late checkout of 11am they refused and only gave an extra 30 min. I asked for it as I suffer from severe back and could hardly move. Even though they had people coming in, they don’t come in until 2pm which gives them plenty of time.

Brilliant view. 2 bedroom apartment, with single balcony across all rooms with 180 degree views to ocean 30m away. Magnificent - enjoy breakfast at sunrise (but take noise cancelling headphones as the sound of the crashing waves is actually so loud it can affect your sleep!). Also great balcony for drying your swimmers in the afternoon sun. Bathroom is adequate, separate bath and shower is good. Internal laundry is good (although we didn't use it). Kitchen is adequate - old and rudimentary, but you can cook up a simple meal. Beware the rangehood isn't flash...too much smoke or steam from your pan, and you'll set of the smoke alarm! (I did!!) Tip - when you cook, keep the balcony windows wide open as well (all have flyscreens). Fantastic location - literally across the road from the beach, and a short walk from the shops, restaurant and riverbank. Secure parking available under the complex (essential on the night they predicted a hailstorm!), a little fiddly getting in and out... but also unlimited street parking right out the front of the apartment, for convenient access.

This apartment is NOT part of the Dorsal Hotel. It is in a separate apartment building around the corner. I won't call it false advertising - but it is somewhat deceptive. The hotel provides the reception service for check in and any issues that might arise during your stay but that's it. Once you get your head around it, it isn't really a problem...the main issue (for me) was NO wi-fi in the apartment. Fortunately the local 4G coverage seems good with most telcos so you can use hotspot from your phones, but make sure you have sufficient data (particularly larger families). 2nd bedroom a little tight for 2 teenage boys used to having their own rooms...but they managed!

Awesome view over the beautiful bay, hearing the sound of the waves and being able to leave the slider doors open was great Bed was comfy and checki n and out was super easy We only stayed one night and would love to stay longer as the location was amazing Just a short stroll to Beach Bums which opens super early for a fabulous breakfast with super staff

Bathroom wasn't 100% clean but I'm very fussy (being a cleaner is a disadvantage)

We had a lovely view out over the beach which was just beautiful as well as a nice balcony to sit on and enjoy it. Just a shame it rained nearly the whole time we were there. We were grateful for the underground parking so we could get out of the rain and get our wet weather gear off and then hang it on the motorbike to dry overnight. A short walk around the corner for a delicious dinner was welcome.

The weather could have been better but the hotel wasn't responsible for that.

Well appointed apartment separate building from hotel. Clean with comfy beds and small kitchen. Separate laundry.

No Wifi or air conditioning but we can work around that- good ambient WiFi. They are doing repairs to outer walls (significant intermittent noise during day about 8am till 3pm). Not sure how long they will last.

Excellent room, roomy and comfortable.

The view from the room was limited, on the west side of the building was slightly unappealing, the advertising of the site prompted a sea view, I expected more of a sea view. I also dont like the mini bar being stocked, its not something I prefer in a stay.

The location and view from the balcony was great. The size of the room was very comfortable. Reception was very polite and friendly. The directory of what to do in Forster was helpful.

The restaurant was very rude when we asked for a table when we arrived. They didn't offer any time slots or help. We went out for dinner and didn't try going to the restaurant again. When we walked past, several times, it was never near even half full. We had seen some bad reviews on it but we like to try places for our self to make our own opinion. Unfortunately that didn't happen. Some of the brochures in the folder needed updating but we were able to work with them.

Well my appointed large comfortable rooms. We had two balconies and large windows letting in light unlike a traditional motel room. Lovely views from the balconies. Lovely Mediterranean restaurant downstairs.

We couldn’t use underground parking because of height of garage but accessible by parking at front of building

Room 302. Door has to be checked that it’s locked. Cleaners left door unlocked at one time. Problems with air conditioner that was rectify. Room required aircon as direct sun in afternoon. Room has great view and very clean
