Hôtel De La Herse d'Or

Well, I understand that the hotel just reopened the week before as it had been renovated. So, when I needed to change rooms (4 times), I was more forgiving. My final room (#62) was perfect, great AC, and the TV finally got fixed. Bed was very comfortable, and the room was a great size with lovely sky-light windows bringing lots of sunlight into the room. The room was nicely cleaned . I will definitely be back next year! The location was perfect, too.

I couldn't quite figure out the AC controls, to make a bit warmer. But got the fan to blow less. The breakfast was a bit pricey for what it was. The coffee machine didn't make such good coffee.

This is not a luxury hotel, but is an excellent hotel for travelling people. given hotel prices in Paris this hotel is a very good value for a simple, small room with bath, spotlessly clean, with friendly, helpful staff. the location in the Marais, just a few steps from Place Bastille Metro, provides excellent access to transportation (RER train from airport to Gare du Nord, metro from Gare du Nord to Bastille) and the various sites and many restaurants within easy walking distance. This is a simple, correct, reliable, secure, immaculately clean hotel that offers the best value for money spent of anything i know of in Paris and i have been staying here several times a year for 15 years.

it is in a very old building so the staircase is steep and quirky, but the staff will take your bags up and the owner told me that the hotel will close for 2 months this winter to install an elevator...

The location is great as is located very close to a metro station. Great amount of restaurants, cafes, parks near by and you can walk by to a few good destinations in Paris without needing to take public transport. Room was very small, tiny to be honest, and first look you might think it's everything too crumble but at the same time it's very cosy at the same time. Bed as a single bed but very comfortable. The view from the room was very very nice and specially during the golden hour was quite magical view actually.

Room was tiny as mentioned but as i was on my own i didn't mind. I was on the 4th floor and the building doesn't have a lift, maybe that can pull some people off, specially the ones with big luggages or the 'not fit' ones.

We were upgraded with no charge to a room including air conditioning if we didn’t min taking the stairs to the sixth floor, highly appreciated. Like other hotels in Paris the room isn’t too big but we had room enough for two suitcases and the bed was plenty big and comfortable. Check in and check out was very convenient and staff was always nice. Room was cleaned everyday and we walked to most sights and otherwise the metro was just nearby. Also good neighborhood with lots of restaurants nearby.

Le Marais is a great location as there are so many restaurants and shops so this hotel is ideally positioned. It is also very close to the metro (Bastille). The metro is a great and cheap way to get around the city when you don’t want to walk. The hotel is very clean and good value. Also you are able to leave your luggage safely before and after check in/out which is a huge bonus. The room was cleaned and towels changed daily. Breakfast is available but we decided to try local restaurants as they are all so close.

You need to be aware that this is a tall narrow townhouse (six floors) and there isn’t a lift. The stairs are narrow and steep and you need to pace yourself. We were on the fifth floor so taking luggage up and down was hard work. If you are healthy then you will be able to manage but if not you are likely to struggle. Perhaps you can ask to be on the first floor if you doubt your ability to cope. That said it is a great place to stay and the staff are so helpful and accommodating.

The room was beautiful and turned over every day. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. They kept my bag free of charge both before and after check in. Pillows are super comfy! Bathroom was clean.

It was quite cold and there wasn’t any heating that I could control. OR I wasn’t aware of it. I didn’t ask for it to be fixed or for someone to show me if it was there as I just put on another jumper and went to sleep, so there could be heating, I just didn’t ask so that’s on me. There was a heated towel rack though.

We had a great room - good size, matched the photos, and we particularly liked the large windows which overlooked the street. For the price, I thought it was great value for money and a great location! The reception staff seemed nice although we didn't have any issues so didn't need to speak to them much.

The bathroom was a little small but functional and wasn't really an issue for us.

The room was just like the photo; clean, good beds and and ok sized bathroom with shower. The location was excellent with the metro just down the street. Me and my friends where very pleased with everything regarding this hotel. probably one of the best hotels to get for this price.

There where two windows, however the only window that we could open went straight out to the hallway which made the room a bit hot at times. however, the air conditioner worker just fine and made and made it very comfortable at night.

The site was conveniently located in the Marais near buses and a subway station. The rooms themselves were very well maintained and the decor was rather charming. I did not try the petit déjeuner here since I had several boulangeries and pâtisseries nearby. This review is for a comfort single room.

The rooms could always be bigger and the lower floors get very little light at sunrise. A recommendation to the facilities: the stairs are a bit uneven at the top.

It's understandable but those stairs had me breathing a heavy... Which probably says more about me than the hotel...

It would be nice if the thermostat would not re-adjust back to a higher temperature every few hours. I found myself getting up in the middle of the night to turn the air back down because I am naturally warmer in my body temperature. It would be convenient if the hotel staff had more information on local happenings; for example, the free concert at the church down the road that I only found out about because I walked past.
