I booked Hotel Emile at my daughters request, I think its because of how pretty the bar underneath is. Having read reviews, and its proximity to all the attractions I booked a good deal via booking.com. Based in the trendy St Marais district with the Metro literally across the road, it was the perfect location for everything. La Favourite bar is underneath the hotel and whilst nothing to do with the hotel, is super handy for popping in if you want a quick drink or a nightcap - it is open till early hours tho - whilst we didn't hear anything at all, some people did and we heard some visitors complaining. Understanding that Paris rooms were supposedly tiny, ours was actually more than adequate for me and a messy 18 year old. The reception staff were always very pleasant and helped with advise on best routes to get to all the attractions. We didn't make breakfast but believe it was a basic coffee, orange juice and croissant. The room was clean, bed super comfy and our outlook with the balcony was perfect. The 18 year old hung out the window and took many a photo for her instagram!!! 2 downsides to our room - the bath/shower which is located in the same room (the toilet is separate) whilst it looks aesthetically lovely, every time we showered, the room flooded. Wasn't a huge problem, once we'd done it once, we soon learnt how to minimise it - but you cannot shower without bucket loads of water all over the floor. The second downside was the air con. We travelled when the temperature was 37/38 degrees and the air con wasn't adequate enough. We understood from persons residing on the upper floors (we were on the 4th) that there was no air con and in temps that high, I'm sure this would have made the experience unbearable. These were the only downsides tho and I would definitely recommend this fabulous hotel to anyone.

As written above, you cannot shower without flooding the floor, there is a tiled floor under the bathroom area but the water does extend to the carpet so was a bit squelchy for the duration of our stay. The other negative was the air conditioning being inadequate. It was either not working properly or not adequate for the size of the room. Had the outside temperatures not been so unseasonably hot, perhaps we would not have noticed this but this is why I couldn't give this lovely boutique hotel full marks. It wouldn't stop me staying here again as it really is a little gem in such a fabulous district.

I think what makes all the difference is the service. Beyond what is expected, unfortunately I don't know her name but the receptionist is such a kind woman who made this service worthwhile thanks to her intentions to help us. She gave us the right tips and helped us with everything we asked for, even just a wholehearted smile in the morning. We didn't have time to say goodbye and say thank you, so thank you for the wonderful service

Everything was perfect. room very clean, we opted for the room to be cleaned only on one day and the cleaners did an amazing job, it was so nice to come back to a cleaned room with a dressed bed after a busy day walking and touring paris. Fresh Towels & I had left a bag with some rubbish & that was took so I was really happy with that. The coffee in the coffee machine down at reception was so lovely in the mornings to have. Everyone in hotel was very friendly from staff to guests. Lift very handy for luggage & we even used it to bring up our shopping on two evenings which was lovely not to have to carry up the stairs. Location wise this hotel really suited me, I travelled alone with my 15 year old daughter which meant I wanted a really nice, safe hotel & this hotel is just that. on a lovely street, very quite at night, supermarket across the street, metro only metres away, beautiful restaurant right beside hotel, walking distance from the Notre Damn. 100% location location location for all types of travellers. You can leave your key back everyday at reception which was lovely not to carry it about, I met 3 different staff members all very lovely & all spoke English which was a great bonus as my French isn't good. 0 complaints. Will be back. would highly recommend

This isnt a dislike for me but just wanted to note you do have to climb alot of steps if your staying up on the top floors. We did not mind this but if you were elderly it might not suit, a person can use the lift if needed, it's small but it does allow people to use as well as luggage but we opted to use the stairs. we were on the 4th floor, I will admit after a long day of walking it adds to your daily step count but its worth it for the crisp bed sheets and the luxury shower

Welcoming and friendly staff. English is spoken but they are happy for you to try out your French should you wish. The hotel has retained its 'typical Frenchness'. Location is first class in an up and coming trendy area [on corner of Rue Rivoli midway between Louvre and Bastille] with the historic, atmospheric Marais area to the rear. No shortage of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Despite the area being busy the room was very quiet. One minute walk from St Paul metro. My room had full length window and was opposite the beautiful St Paul/St Louis church. Room small but cleverly designed with excellent walk-in shower [with soap and towels]. Very clean. Flat screen TV. The real bonus was an easy to use room safe Simple continental breakfast in simple surroundings but perfectly adequate. Unlimited coffee, freshly pressed orange juice, superb bread.

The staircase to the upper floors is narrow and steep. A small price to pay for the authenticity. There is a lift but only fits one person comfortably

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the friendly and accommodating staff who made me feel right at home. The location of the hotel was simply amazing, with easy access to some of the city's most popular attractions and cultural landmarks by bus or underground (metro St Paul literally few steps away). Whether I wanted to explore the local neighborhood or venture further afield, everything was within easy reach. As for the room itself, it was simply adorable - with charming decor, cozy furnishings, and a super comfy bed. Overall, my stay at this hotel was fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Paris. I'm already planning my next trip back to Paris and you can bet that I'll be staying here again.

What a brilliant hotel !! Great area to get anywhere from the Marais, and the blessing of air-conditioning which was the main reason we chose this Hotel. The staff at reception Philip and Gwendolyn were outstanding representatives of the Hotel so happy and helpful every day. We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed the great continental breakfast each morning and the excellent coffee machine available 24 hours a day. Would totally recommend a stay here :)

the location is great. we were two families and most of our traveling were by foot. the area has so many bakeries, coffee shops, shopping and close to metro as well. we even went by foot the the Latin quarter which is on the other side of the river. staff was welcoming and great. even we didn’t have breakfast, a complementary breakfast was served every morning in the lobby.

as it is a renovated hotel in an old building, there are stairs and the elevator can fit one person with luggage.

The location was excellent. Gwendolen was the highlight of our stay - she is warm and lovely, cheerful, and so helpful - what a lovely lady.

The breakfast was adequate but the standard of the pastries could have been better considering this is Paris. The room rate is very high considering that it is a 2 star hotel.

Continental breakfast, pastries and coffee, but you could have as much as you want. Free coffee and hot chocolate available all day. The location was brilliant, right in the Marais, about 25 min walk to the Louvre, 20 min walk to St Germaine blvd. The front desk staff were excellent, super friendly and helpful, everyone spoke English. Gwendolyn is a really lovely lady.

Absolutely perfect position in Le Marais just off the blvd St Antoine, with a good large cafe next door, and a fantastic little bistro just opposite, the staff could not be kinder or more accommodating, and the rooms are beautifully decorated. I was fortunate enough to be on the very top floor [there is a lift! even if it's pretty much the world's smallest] and on its two balconies looking out over the rooftops at the twin spires of Notre Dame, you are pretty much in a Hollywood director's version of Paris bedroom heaven.
