St George Lycabettus Lifestyle Hotel

Best view in Athens! Be sure to ask for a room with a panoramic Acropolis view, as some of the rooms face an interior courtyard, and are nowhere near as good. The view is the reason to stay here! This was our second stay at the St. George for this reason, which has been updated since our first time in 2016. Rooftop pool and outdoor lounge are lovely, and the breakfast area also has commanding views of the city and Acropolis. Great neighbourhood as well, with good restaurants and grocery/wine stores only a short walk away.

Breakfast buffet was not as extensive, and not as good as last time. The second morning it was pretty mediocre, and placed far away from the balcony tables, which was inconvenient. Bit disappointing after last time.

adjoining rooms were excellent size for our family of 4. views were stunning and rooftop pool has great views. very nicely located in Kolonaki and near to great restaurants and shopping spots.

(1) I booked adjoining rooms and didn't get the adjoining rooms until day 2. initial rooms were very small and didn't fit our family. (2) Top floor restaurant has some of the best views in Athens. However, menu should be enhanced and improved to make it a better quality restaurant. It's not worth the value as it is now. It seems the restaurant is resting on the fact that the view is amazing and not caring as much about the menu or quality of food. It's a waste of a chance to make it a 5-star dining spot and generate more revenue for the hotel.

The hotel is located on the top of a hill called Mt. Lycabettus. The views are beautiful, but it is not easy to walk down the many steps and hills to the bottom, where most of the shops and restaurants are. You need to take taxis to get back up the hill. Other than that, lovely. Restaurant on rooftop has exceptional views of Athens and the Acropolis.

They allow smoking on the balconies, but we could also smell it in our room from neighbors.

Very light and bright, hotel also smelled really nice. Rooftop restaurant and bar was very comfortable and has fantastic views of the city and especially the Acropolis. Seemed ‘fresher’ to be up the hill rather than down in the smaller streets of Plaka. Staff were very polite and friendly and helpful with any questions you have.

Rooftop pool area got very crowded, not helped by the fact that I understand they allow non-hotel guests to pay for a day pass. Not enough space for everyone to have a bed or chair and it was at times not very peaceful.

Comfortable stay in kolonaki, one of athens safest areas. Staff were very responsive to all requests. Views to the city are breathe taking. The location is close enough to shopping precincts, and main city areas without being in the action. Very clean and neat property.

Pool closure at 8pm, which means having to leave for sunset views. Sound proofing could be better, but unsure if this was just loud people outside our room. External noise off the street was also able to be heard. Breakfast used to have bougatsa on offer and koulouria but no longer.

I was quite happy with the hotel, the staff and everything. I love Kolonaki so I enjoyed staying there and will do so again. However, getting back to the hotel when you are out and about is challenging. Greek cab drivers are the worst and often just won't take you. I will stay there again but next time I will sign up for the app where you can call a cab from your phone. The neighborhood is worth it. If you stay there, do take the time to ride up to the top of Lycabetto.

Great location. 30 minute walk to the Acropolis (but you need to go early to avoid a queue) and the view from the top of the funicular behind the hotel is breath taking (you can ride up and walk down). Helpful staff and the 7th floor, with pool and bar is a great place to be. I read a review criticising the plumbing/shower but we mastered that by turning down the water pressure and no problem at all.

Perfect option for us staying two nights but, because we didn’t need to fully unpack, space was a little tight. This is not a complaint however.

We were on a short break from UK for culture and relaxation. St George Lycabettus Hotel was perfect. With a stunning view of the Acropolis enjoyed from our room, restaurant and the roof top pool, it was the best location. The staff were extremely helpful and cheerful and particular mention to Joy who looked after us so well by the pool! I had a very good back neck and shoulder massage at the Hotel Spa. All in all a really great stay and we would certainly recommend.

Stunning views of Athens and the acropolis from the front of the hotel including the dinning area and roof top pool. Quiet neighbourhood but good local restaurants, easy to get to by taxi or a short (but steep) walk from the Parliament building. Great breakfast, good room, friendly staff.

It's not over clear which room to book for the acropolis view. We were in a signature room however this looked at the adjacent hill, very nice view but not the acropolis!

St George provides comfortable beds, it is clean, has an excellent restaurant and amazing views of Acropolis and the city. The valet service (manolis and another young man whose name I did not catch) as well as the service staff were professional and helpful.

St George Is difficult to get to with public transportation as it seats on a hill. I did not mind this as I like to walk, but If you are not relatively physically fit you have to use taxis to and from. The staff however will get you taxis with ease. All cab drivers I used from the hotel have been reliable and honest.
