Hotel Ginori Al Duomo

The hotel is quite close to the centre, a 5-minute walk from Santa Maria del Fiore. The staff is friendly and the breakfast was good, especially for an Italian breakfast. Also, I liked the coffee. The room is big and comfortable. I slept well and appreciated a quiet room/with good soundproofing. A good value for money.

The cleaning needs to be improved. I found that there was a lot of dust in my room(no.14) and didn't feel it was a proper cleaning for a 4* hotel. I have stayed at other 4* hotels in Florence(even 3*) and all of them were spotless and clean. Besides location and comfort of the room, I always choose a hotel based on cleanliness rating.

The breakfast was amazing. Limited selection but homemade food and delicious cappuccinos. The location couldn’t be better (central and walking distance from cathedral, with supermarket opposite). Decoration was very stylish and vintage. Staff was great, especially Federica who made us feel at home. Thank you!

Cut fresh fruit would have been nice for breakfast. Only whole fruits (bananas, oranges,?) were available. There was no lift to our floor, which was ok because we got our bags delivered. There were way too many mosquitos in the room and bathroom. This could be easily be dealt with if (even natural) repellent was available. Bathroom needed urgent work; it was too small, old and cheap.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was good and easy to navigate around. The hotel organised a little birthday treat for my partner and put balloons in the room and bought a cake for him. It was really nice.

A lovely big room with everything we needed Hard bed but comfortable with good pillows .Great position walked everywhere never needing public transport .Lovely outlook onto the street & never too noisy . Complimentary mini bar which was appreciated with bottled water supplied..Breakfast was great with barrista coffee on hand &a lovely little dining room for guests.Massamilio(?)on front desk was super welcoming,informative , helpful & always had a smile for us . Cafes & the Metro was nearby .Would definitely stay there again .Thanks

Would have been nice to have cable television or be able to get subtitles on the television just to catch up on news or just to chill out after walking Florence all day

Absolutely lovely location, so close to everything in the city of Florence but still on a quieter street. The breakfast was very nice. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. While the hotel was busy, it was always quiet at night. Loved the history of the building. We stayed in the last room on the top floor-just know that there is no elevator if you plan on staying here. It wasn't typically a problem but after climbing up the Duomo and then having to return to the hotel and climb 4 flights of stairs, we definitely felt the stairs!

Our room wasn't quite what we had expected, the bathroom was very small (and didn't include a bidet like the photos show) and the shower head was partially broken. The heat was on despite it being quite warm outside so we had to open our window at night which led to us having many mosquito bites.

- The location of the building is amazing. You can reach any touristic point in maximum 10 minutes by foot (also to the train station). - Bonus for the location - you have a steakhouse right next to the hotel with amazing beef. However, be careful that offseason it doesn't seem to respect the schedule. - The bed sheets were clean and the staff would clean the room daily. - The staff at the reception was very nice and helpful. Also, the radiators were very hot and we had no issues with the cold.

- There was a moldy air in the room and some walls weren't in the best shape probably because of the humidity. - The ventilator didn't seem to work in the bathroom so all the steam would go into the room. Besides the windows in the room, there was no way to ventilate the bathroom or the room (which during winter could be bothersome). - The breakfast was ok, exception for the last day when the coffee had a weird taste and me and my companion felt a bit sick afterwards

The lobby of the hotel is beautiful and historic. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and speaks very good English. Most surprising was the breakfast! Fantastic selection of pastries, cereal, juice, eggs, bacon, pancakes, yogurt. A great start to the morning. Bathroom is adequate (small shower) and and room was large and roomy. We were also able to leave our packed bags on the last day the staff brought them down for storage which was very nice.

Our window was on the main street and I felt it was quite loud with street noise. I wore earplugs at night and that helped. The bed could stand to be replaced. It was not very firm and sagged some in the middle.

Excellent location, walking distance from all the major historical sites. Very clean and comfortable room and the staff was really friendly and welcoming. Many amazing restaurants around and a supermarket close by. Good value for money.

The breakfast was so-so. We had breakfast at the hotel the first morning. The warm dishes such as the eggs were all luke-warm. Bread rolls were stale. The cappuccino we ordered was terrible. There are however many good places around where you can grab a fresh croissant and decent coffee, so we went out for breakfast the next morning.

Great central location. Short walk to the train station and the cathedral (il Duomo). Loads of good restaurants around too. Also there's a Carrefour (supermarket) just opposite so that's handy for snacks and cheaper drinks! Staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a good spread and had some good choices too!

No lift in the building; not a problem for us, but other may struggle! Breakfast room seemed to have a leak in the roof as the floor was wet both mornings, and on our first morning we had to move seats as we were getting dripped on! Also completely out of the hotels control, bit there was a bar on the same street which had relatively loud music until the early hours both nights; again this didn't really affect us as we were that tired from all the walking! But any light sleepers, maybe ask for a room at the back of the hotel (if that's possible!)

Triple Room - very spacious for 3 adults sharing, staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was cleaned daily with fresh sheets & towels every day of our stay. There is no lift, but the staff members carried our luggage upstairs, which was an excellent service. Fantastic location to lots of the key tourist spots & to the train station.

The pool was unfortunately not solely for guests. it is quite a small area, with limited sunshine, and the pool and seating areas were usually taken up with multiple members of the public who paid to stay for the day. This resulted in such crowding that a number of hotel residents were unable to get into the pool / sit by the pool when they came down. Also, breakfast was limited in variety, but well laid out & the area kept clean.
