Sonder San Lorenzo

Sonder San Lorenzo is a gated property with a private terrace to each two-level apartment. The apartments are modern, well furnished and spotlessly clean. Many family restaurants in the neighbourhood serve good Italian food at reasonable prices; kebab and sushi are also available, and of course pizza. Tram no. 3 stops right outside the entrance and connects to Etruscan Museum and Porta Maggiore, with onward bus connections to Colosseum, Circus Maximus and Vatican. Bus no. 71 (bus stop in via Tiburtina) runs frequently during the daytime and takes you downtown in about twenty minutes. If you are flying out, you can take the no. 71 to Stazione Tiburtina and the local train from there to Fiumicino airport, instead of the higher-priced airport express from Termini station.

Appliances (dishwasher, washing machine) need maintenance: first aid kit needs a refill. Otherwise, no problems whatever.

this is a great apartment with everything you could need. The link works really well to operate all the doors electronically. it’s in my favourite area of Rome, with lots of great bars and cafes. it’s very much a locals area so you get great food and drink for a fraction of the price than central Rome but you’re still in walking distance of the main sites. I loved that it also had a washing machine and dryer.

Very good AC. Comfortable bed. Clean bathroom. Easy access to public transport and to grocery shopping. Quick response from chatting with customer reps.

A little bit more information about access to basic apartment/hotel needs (replacement bath towels, toilet paper,etc.)prior to checking in. AC units definitely needs cleaning or air filter changing. Get use to the sounds of incoming trains and busses. But they can be tolerable.

In the apartment where we stayed, it was on the street and the only problem was that you could not sleep. We had a reservation for 3 nights and no night could I sleep due to the noise outside throughout the night

Facility is clean, staff is very responsive and helpful. Very well developed transit nearby. Different attractions can be accessed by tram, bus and metro. Closed by grocery stores, eating places including two Turkish eateries with great food.

The amount of space and facilities were great (we were upgraded to a bigger place). The complex was very chill and quiet. Support via whatsapp were also very helpful. Overall if you are planning to stay for longer time it would be difficult to find something better.

Just one minor inconvenience as a smoker you can't smoke in the whole complex, not even in the outside areas which forces you to go out to a small and busy street.

a unique experience, fully digitally managed with no personal encounters required. The accommodation was equipped with everything we needed including a microwave and dishwasher. Plus, the upstairs room was a game-changer, providing a peaceful sleep for our baby. Located right by a bus station and with plenty of grocery and late-night pizza options nearby, this hotel was the perfect base for exploring the city. Overall, I recommend Sonder anyone seeking a convenient, comfortable, and innovative stay.

The room was not attended unless requested via the app, resulting in having to do cleaning ourselves. Verification of identity via video call was required but difficult to complete, leading to continuous WhatsApp messages. Garbage disposal instructions were long and tedious, and there were ants in the living room. The couch needed dry cleaning. Overall, these are normal issues when staying in a home rather than a hotel, but more human interaction could improve the business model.

Everything was perfect

Very large apartment so great for families and large grouos. Bedrooms very comfy and spacious

Toilet and lounge room needs refurbishment. Some items like carpet missing so it felt bare. No lifts so need to carry large suitcases by hand up flight of stairs. Parking, late checkout, and early check in (even by a couple of hours and when room is available attracts additional charges). Small things like washing machine detergent not provided so you'd have to go out and buy a large bottle just to use for a single cycle. We left ours behind (hopefully for the next guests to be able to use).

Lovely well equipped modern apartment. Nice and clean. We were 5 girls in a 2 bed apartment with a sofa bed there was plenty of room. Nice outside area. Such an easy check in/ out process lots of information given on the Sonder app. People had told us the area was a bit rough but we felt very safe staying here as there was gates to the complex. Very good value for money.

Only issue we thought being 10 mins drive from the centre would be great but the lack of taxis in rome meant we needed to get one or two buses in and out of the centre which took an hour or longer.
