Izla Beach Front Hotel

We arrived to celebrate a honeymoon. At first they brought us a room located on the second floor, although it seems that this is not the room that appeared in the reservation. At reception I was told that the rooms can be both on the lower floor with access to the pool and also on the upper floors with a balcony. The rep at the reception was really nice and managed to arrange a room for us with an exit to the pool even though he did not have to. The rooms are large and spacious, the hotel has a private beach and a lovely pool.

Please note that smoking is not allowed in the entire hotel area except on the beach and outside the hotel. This information was not specified on the website and I did not know it before I booked the hotel so it is important to know in advance. Also regarding the rooms, it is important to know that if you book a double room with a view of the garden the pictures show an exit to the pool. Not all rooms are like this and you may get rooms on the upper floors. We wanted to rent a golf cart from the hotel during our stay and for 4 days they did not have any car to rent for us. Don't know why but it sucks

The breakfast was great each morning, definitely add the breakfast option. Main Pool was very nice. My daughter loved the hammocks over the Pool and Ocean. There always seemed to be chairs available around the pool and on the beach.

The beach was okay, but the sand was squishy once in the water. Only did a beach day at the hotel one day, ended up visiting Playa Norte the rest of the time. The roof-top pool was a bit cloudy, only went up there on the last day.

Clean and very nice rooms with huge bathrooms and a walk-in shower. Loved the button option to decide if we wanted our room cleaned or not. Very quiet hotel, which is nice compared to all the people that gather at North Beach daily. My husband and I also really enjoyed the sky lounge and used it daily. We also ended up having a problem with the safe that was located in our room, so I went down to the front desk to see if they could send it up to fix it. I went up to the room to wait, and there was somebody within 5 minutes that was sent up and got the problem fixed. The workers are friendly and start to recognize you and build relationships with you throughout your stay.

Probably not the hotels fault, but a couple of times when we went to order off the room service menu, they were out of some of the options. On our last day, we went down to the on-site restaurant to enjoy their breakfast buffet, but it seemed as though they were out of eggs, pancakes/waffles, and any kind of meat we were left to eat some fruit, yogurt, and some baked goods which was kind of disappointing. Lastly, we were not aware at first that gratuity was included for all the times that were bought through the hotel, such as food and drinks, it would have been nice to be told this at the beginning of our stay rather than us having to figure it out.

I recently stayed in an oceanfront room and I must say it was absolutely amazing. The view of the Caribbean was breathtaking and the beach access was very convenient. I loved spending my afternoons lounging in the hammocks, listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. The wading pool was also a nice touch, perfect for cooling off on a hot day. Overall, I highly recommend booking their oceanfront room for your next beach vacation. It was truly a memorable experience.

I asked for a higher floor, but the private pools are only on the ground floor. It ended up being very nice.

15 of us. Family vacation Breakfast was purchased for the week. This was a great choice , 1st time to the island Very clean. Maids did super job cleaning our room. Loved exploring island and visited new restaurants We would come again

Recommended Improvements Pool water cloudy, more beach chairs, no hot water in our 7 rooms. Buffet breakfast was always good but one morning we had to order off a small menu. This was terrible because your poor staff were run off their feet and not enough cooks to prepare these special breakfasts. Some of us waited 1 1/2 hours to get our food. Stick to the buffet

Everything about this property was amazing, we tried the cocktails, cuisine and both pools and everything was delicious and on point. We got a beachfront king room with soaking tub on the balcony and it was outstanding.

It’s a 10 minute taxi ride to the center but it is very calm and romantic as is.

At the Izla Hotel, adding the breakfast option is a must! Delicious food is served in a buffet setting. Every day, there are many different cuisines to pick from. Eduardo, our waiter, was superb, very attentive and polite. Angie, the manager on duty, was also outstanding. She was available to respond to inquiries from visitors. She saw to it that everyone was content and was enjoying their breakfast. The beds were really comfortable as were the pillows. The staff was always friendly and was always there to assist. There is a taxi cab available outside the hotel to take you around. The taxi cost is about 150 pesos one way which is about $9 US Dollars. The hammocks on the beach are amazing and truly relaxing. The water is warm and feels great. Go to the Avenida Hildago for dinner. This is their downtown spot where there are many restaurants to choose from. Go to Playa Norte which is amazing. It's the beach on the north point of the island. Wow. incredible. Visit Punta Sur, it's worth the trip. The views are amazing. Getting to Punta Sur from Izla Hotel is about a 45 min walk and has a couple inclines, I felt completely safe while walking during the day around the island. Everyone around is friendly.

I would not claim that the Izla Hotel's great peacefulness is a bad thing. The hotel is in a calmer, more laid-back neighborhood. There isn't much music or a vibrant nightlife here. The purpose of staying at this hotel is to unwind, the beach, read a book, or watch the pelicans catch and swallow fish. Finding a location that played Spanish or Banda music and had a different ambiance was difficult for us. We were hoping to hear more of their musical selection.

We loved the room we had the most we had the most beautiful views our room was the room with the outdoor hottub. The staff at the hotel are super friendly and helpful. The hotel is super clean compared to other hotels we visited on our stay. The food was delicious we even decided to eat at the hotel for lunch and dinner. The vibe at the hotel was super relaxing they played music by the beach and pool overall it was a very relaxing stay.

This has NOTING TO DO WITH OUR HOTEL THIS IS ABOUT BOOKING.COM. We booked our hotel and flight as a package on priceline.com and we are still not sure how booking.com took over our hotel reservation. When we arrived to the hotel after hours of traveling. At check-in we were told that booking.com hat not paid the hotel 🙄 we paid in full flights and hotel when we booked through Priceline. We spent 2 hours in the hotel lobby calling priceline and booking.com the hotel manager and staff did everything they could too help calm our nerves. We had recpts and confirmations that everything was paid for. We received the run around from booking.com and priceline no one had an answer as to what happened to our money. We ended up having to leave a credit card on file to pay for our stay at the hotel.

The hotel and room were beautiful, so many lovely places to hang out, everything beautifully landscaped, it was heaven. We loved the views from the beach, rooftop pool, and our balcony bathtub. The staff were incredible and helped make this a truly magical stay.

It was hard to keep our clothes dry (especially with getting caught in the rain) and I do wish there had been a laundry service for that reason. We also wanted to rent a golf cart and more than one day they were just not available through or nearby the hotel.
