The Concert Hotel

The staff at The Concert is exceptional! They greet with a smile and keep it going. They are eager to please, and it shows every minute. Kind, thoughtful, friendly, and happy to bend over backward for their guests. The fourth floor (Room 401) seemed daunting at first (elevator to the third floor and walk a set of stairs), but the view of the street and treetops of Amsterdam are worth every step. The hotel location is fantastic, close to the Concertgebouw, Museumplein, tremendous food options, and the Albert Cuyp market. It's quiet and lovely. There's also an Albert Heijn (supermarket) around the corner. There are numerous trams to every corner of the city within a block.

There is no meeting place, no common room (not a negative, just be aware). Instead, there is a lovely, sunny dining room to use when breakfast is not served. The pillows are rock-hard (no joke - they are neck-bending hard rocks). I switched the soft brown throw pillows into the pillowcases of the rock-hard sleeping pillows, and that worked perfectly.

The breakfast was good.I think the most important thing is the food area needed more space. A bit crammed.we had 3 single rooms which were just right, clean, lovely bathroom with good walk in shower.Very cosy.

The large table in the middle of the room was too big, it needed small tables to sit 2 or 4 person. It felt a bit crammed. Also at the reception desk it shows the time for breakfast sittings starting at 08.15am, and guests were sitting down for breakfast at 08.00am. Why as the us to request our times, when clients are sitting down much earlier than shown. Wi-fi needs to be better in the rooms.

Great location. Friendly multi lingual staff. Easy walking distance to the concert hall and several museums. Terrific breakfast with both hot and cold food choices. Very clean.

The elevator does not go all the way up to top floor rooms. The room was very sparsely furnished with very little closet space, nor was there any bureau or shelves for unpacking clothes from your suitcase. The wet room shower gets everything wet, including the sink and toilet areas, in spite of the shower curtains.

Room was small but it was very comfortable. It was also spotless clean.

The room was very close to the hotel entrance and there was considerable noise because of this. I could understand every word that people were saying at the reception from within my room. Wifi was pretty bad.

It’s located within east walking distance of everything. The room was very modern and the staff incredibly helpful. I left some items in my room and didn’t realise until about an hour after I had checked out. I emailed and they found my jewellery so it was ready for me to collect later when I picked up my cases.

I had to request teabags, spoons and bath mat as the cleaner forgot to put them in my room I also found several hairs in the bathroom on my first day. The single room I stayed in was right next to the front door, so I heard people coming and going throughout the night. It wouldn’t put me off staying again though

Excellent location (a few minutes' walk to Concertgebouw, Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum); a nice, quiet, clean and tidy room; a very comfortable bed and pillows; friendly and helpful reception and cleaning staff; a few minutes' walk to the tram stop from which you can directly travel to Centraal Station and the city centre.

The rent bikes offered at the reception desk are in atrocious condition (the first one I rented almost broke into pieces several kilometres into the ride, and the second one wasn't any better, so I eventually gave up).

The room was just what I needed for a 2 night stay in June. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Many reviews mentioned the pillows were uncomfortable but I didn't find that at all, so I'm not sure if they have been changed. Very clean and such a brilliant location, a really lovely area to stay in!

It was noisy on the first night, the walls are abit thin but I got to sleep and the noise quietened down. No issues on the second night. There was a music festival on that weekend so that was probably why.

Excellent location with great transport links to Airport, within city and to wider area. Rooms were very comfortable, lovely breakfast and very flexible on breakfast times offering both an early breakfast from 7am and a takeaway breakfast which was very generous! Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Whilst there is a lift to the third floor, we were on the fourth floor which was accessible by stairs. This can be difficult to navigate for an older person so worth requesting 3rd floor or below.

Very friendly Polish lady at the reception desk. There was lift in the building, kettle in the room, nice, bright and very warm room with central heating, possibility to wait in the cafe after the checkout. Very well located hotel, easy to walk to the centre or take a tram and catch a bus to the airport.

Thin walls, I could hear the neighbours talking, tiny room, monitor on the wall instead of TV (can't watch from the angle), shower from the top only, no hose with shower head, 20 euros fees charged in case 1h early arrival or late checkout. Lots of dust under the bed, bulky thick pillow.

location was brilliant for the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Concert-Gebouw etc.. Room and bathroom very clean. Very good breakfast

Room and ‘double’ bed very small! Another time I would book a twin room instead. The safe in the room was antiquated and difficult to use. Needs replacing urgently with more modern version. We did not dare use the safe as we feared not being able to retrieve our belongings - apparently the staff do not have a master key! Unbelievable!
