The hotel is just behind the concert hall, 3 min. from Van Gogh museum, so the location is amazing especially if you want to visit the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh and two modern arts museums, or if you want to take a cruise. We got the upgrade on our room so the room we got was very spacious. The furniture is a bit dated, but the bed and sheets were really clean and comfortable. This is a budget hotel, but you do not share bathroom you have your own. And the hotel has got a lift so you don't have to climb the steep stairs. You can also leave the luggage there. We had an amazing view of the concert building and a beautiful balcony, but the door was blocked from opening. The room was really warm. The door of the shower was missing, and the tap was a bit wobbly, but these are just minor negative details. Overall our stay was brilliant. You also have a supermarket just opposite the hotel when you cross the main road which we found great.

Location: Near Museumsplein is great. Nearby an excellent supermarket, nice cafes, the park. Take airport bus 397 which takes 20-30 minutes, hotel is 2 mins. Leave airport, ask at the GVB red van opposite B17. Room: Small but adequate, we had a twin with ensuite bathroom. Breakfast: Not included but coffee, pastries etc available in the excellent supermarket. Reception: Friendly but you need to complete a form of personal details. They don't keep your passport. I was slightly stoned when arriving so took longer to complete the form but there was no problem. Service: Excellent! I put up the 'do not disturb' and next morning found a bag of clean towels hanging by the door.

I can't think of anything.

I don’t often leave lengthily reviews, but want to defend this little gem of a place. This hotel does not deserve the poor ratings it receives. Luckily, my partner and I are well-seasoned travelers and know to take reviews with a grain of salt. This is not a luxury hotel. It is, however, a perfectly clean and comfortable place to spend a few nights in a very expensive city. Our room was right above the restaurant mentioned in other reviews, and we noticed no odors. There were no signs of bedbugs. Our belongings were secure. The bathroom was small, but clean and perfectly functional. The staircases are narrow and steep and the elevator is small — perfectly normal for the old buildings of Amsterdam. If you are the type of traveler who just needs a clean, comfortable bed and a hot shower, you will be happy here. If you’re looking for amenities and space, pay more for a fancier modern hotel. What we loved the most about this hotel was the location. It is a block away from a tram line that goes straight to the train station, and a block away from the museum campus. If your plan is to see the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijks, you can’t ask for a more convenient hotel! We also enjoyed exploring the hotel’s lovely residential neighborhood. The hotel is a short walk from Vondelpark, where we picnicked a couple of evenings. After spending our days in more touristed areas, it was a nice change of pace to be in a quieter and less crowded space. We would absolutely stay here again!

Room was not that big, but I have seen there are bigger rooms too, I choose that one due to being cheap. If I travel again I would go for a bigger room. staff was super helpful and friendly, we had couple problems which staff fixed within 5 minutes. Location is great near parks and easy to access, walking to central was a great experience since it is not that far away but takes a little time, still better than more distant and expensive hotels. Loved it in general.

stairs are too small and rough, the elevator is a bit small and could stop if you pass the red line :P Which was weird but not that big of a problem, I needed to stay still till I elevate to my floor. There was a fight in the middle of the night and the sound of people was inside my room, but that was an extreme situation, normally people are not that loud. and sleep is silent and confortable

My son absolutely loved the bunk bed, and I personally enjoyed the crisp, clean sheets and incredibly comfortable mattresses! Friendly reception, secure key-card entry, good shower gel, perfectly clean toilet, towels, coffee machine and vending machine downstairs. All this, at the CHEAPEST price! There was safe locker in the room! Oh, yes, the old elevator added a cool interesting aspect to the hotel's atmosphere. We had a fantastic time!

I would wish for the water pressure in the shower to be more powerful. But the shower gel was amazing!

really good location and price for money, walk distance from a lot of nice places in Amsterdam as well as the trams nearby. it's a very simple hotel and small room, but really good for value and very quiet. I haven't hard much noise from the streets or neighbours, and staff was really helpful and nice.

I know the room is small, but a little table would have been nice, to have the laptop. Also, I know it's standard of most budget hotels, but shampoo and conditioner are a nice touch to have.

Room location was overlooking the lane towards the van Gogh museum I feel like we just got lucky with the room but ours was a fantastic view and the bed faced the big windows it was excellent we almost didn't want to leave our room, very cosy and very soft bed, TV has limited English channels, and lots of stairs in the place but it adds to the vibe of it all. Free coupons for shops too in the reception area.

One of the duvets they gave us wasn't clean but they gave us two already in the room so it was fine.

After the reviews, we were a little bit disappointed, but since we need only to sleep in that room and that is the cheapest option - we booked that hostel. But it was a great experience! The room was really well cleaned, no moll or other dirt in the bath, and the carpet and bed are clean and fresh. So we were really surprised since the reviews made us think us in a bad way. But I really recommend you that place. Close to the center, a lot of public transport around and a few of the most interesting museums! So price-quality is superior.

The only thing is that you can hear what is going on outside of the room. When people walk or talk outside. Since it is Amsterdam, noisy youth came lately, which was not comfortable for sleeping. But it is the half the fault of those people :)

Location is very nice, very close to the main museums. The hotel is very basic and budget. Not cousy but quite ok for the night. The staff was friendly, they changed us a room, when we realised that there is smell of smoking in our room. Wi-Fi was ok, bedsheet was clean. No breakfast, but you can buy coffee from the machine

It is not cosy at all. The price — but it is Amsterdam Smell of smoke, probably comes through the ventilation

I booked a twin room but on arrival I was given a much bigger 6-person room (twin beds and two bunks). This was great as I had space to spread out. I slept in the bottom of one of the bunk beds as they were wider than the single beds. The sheets, pillows and towels were really fresh and crisp. The bathroom was new and clean with really great shower and loads of hot water day & night and good ventilation. Good hairdryer (standard hotel Valera model). The safe and TV worked well. The room had really high ceilings and I had a lovely view of the street from the 2nd floor window. It's a quiet street. Despite the hot weather in Amsterdam the room was naturally cool. Location is top class - can't beat it just at the back of the Concert Hall. Supermarket and loads of cafes are one minute walk. The bus stop for the airport bus is 3 min walk. The tram stop is less than one min.

The elevator was a bit old so I took the stairs - the steps are quite narrow so you need to be careful. After I checked out I wanted to hire a bike but the guy at reception said it wasn't possible after check out. The description mentions that breakfast is available but I never saw this option.
