Hotel Washington

Nice and cozy hotel with recently renovated rooms. The rooms are small, but provide lots of comfort. Breakfast is rich and everything was fresh. The museums at Museumplein are very close.

Hotel is not soundproof at all. You can hear every noise in the hotel, and I frequently woke up because of other hotel guests in the hallway at night, or when staff prepared breakfast in the morning.

Adorable property in a great part of Amsterdam for a tourist, though it was very very loud at night for the same reason.

The bed was horribly uncomfortable and I had to lug my own 50lb suitcase up 2 flights of narrow, winding stairs while an able bodied male employee just watched.

The staff checking me in late into the night was very kind and helpful, they even joked around a bit. The room was clean, well organized and there was enough space for other luggage stuff. Located 8mins away from the metro (walk), it has a beautiful neighborhood and the public transport services are easily accessible.

The staff checking me out wasn't very in shape. Stairs were very steep. Walls/entrance door not very soundproof. The bathroom had a weird design: the sink blocks the toilet a little from the side. The sink was also very small and the entire handle was wobbling around.

Cosy place with incredible view from the room. This is smallest room I see so far but it is convenient one to stay. Comfy bed & nice breakfast. Overall design is nice.

The stair is a bit steep but the staffs are really helpful to carry my luggage to the room. It is a distance away to tram & bus. If you have a small luggage, there would not be an issue at all.

The hotel is far from Center around 3 km and it's easy to go and back with Tram and Metro. Walking from here to the city center on different routs are also great (i did that 3 times). There are some nice cafeterias along the main street and not far from the hotel. The single room was small but clean, the staffs were nice and supportive. I checked out at 11:00 but i could leave my luggage there until evening. Of course the stair in the hotel is small and high but that is typical in Amsterdam. I am satisfied with this hotel and the location. This is good choice for a two star hotel.

Location was great for me and close to the tube. Room is functional and thought it was really clean. Breakfast was average, but I appreciated it. Staff was as helpful and accommodating as they could be; very friendly. Overall I thought it was good. Sharing a bathroom and toilet was not bad at all.

I know there was a fan in the room to help with lack of air in. But as it was very hot in the room especially on the first day so was very hard to sleep. It got better on other days and I am unsure what could have been done about the matter just be aware.

Great experience staying here! The front desk staff was friendly and our 4th floor room had a balcony with a great view! The room was clean and comfortable, and the communal bathroom situation was fine, since there were only 4 rooms on our floor. There is also a kitchen with a microwave on the ground floor. You can use the microwave, but you have to ask the staff to store your food in the fridge, since only the staff has access to the fridge.

The stairs are steep and small. If accessibility is an issue, it's best to stay elsewhere.

I liked the simplicity of interior and positive attitude from staff. Had a few issues which were solved immediately. This property has great location. It is really close to Rijksmuseum. It looks simple, cosy and clean. Had a room on last floor with balcony almost as big as the room itself.

My experience at this stay is close to perfect. Since all issues were solved have nothing negative to say. Maybe only downside is sharable WC and shower, and you can hear how people from other rooms go there. But it did not feel as a big problem. I am no smoker so No Smoking Policy was rather a positive than negative experience.

This hotel is ideally located within a 5-minute walk of two of the most famous museums and two metro stations nearby. In terms of security, both downstairs and upstairs require a credit card to open the door, which makes solo travelers feel safe, the staff is very warm, and seeing solo travelers will give a lot of very useful advice

There are no other disadvantages except that the bedside lamp does not work and the bathroom lamp often flashes (I believe this problem may only be in room 34).

It was a pretty comfortable and affordable hotel, near some of Amsterdam's main attractions like museumplein. The room itself was okay. The lady working reception was friendly.

The room was in the basement so the windows were too high up.The bathroom drain seemed a bit clogged and the hairdryer was not strong enough. The downside of the quiet hours was that even a regular talking voice at 10pm was apparently loud enough to disturb the others or at least the receptionist.
