Lisb'on Hostel

Fantastic location and charming building! This hostel was recommended by a friend of mine and she was right about the good value for money.

Water in showers was not very hot, just warm. In Summer is ok but in Winter might be too cold. Bulk beds need some renovation as they are not very steady.

Great location, clean hostel, comfortable beds. I booked a 6 people dorm, but got a room for 4 people and due to covid there were only 2 of us there :) Well equipped kitchen, excellent view over the river, free luggage storage. The hostel is quiet, no parties at night which I really enjoyed! Extra points for recycling rubbish - well done! :)

Ceiling light didnt work in my room. I raised this issue to the staff, they promised to take care of it but they never did, even though I was staying there for 6 nights. But thats a minor thing :)

Everything was perfect, except for the showers... The water was always cold!!!!

Great location close to Cais de Sodre train/metro station and the river/sea front. Super views from the rooms to the rear and a great area off the dining area with fantastic views. Great kitchen and well equipped. Really good continental breakfast. Plenty of space in the dorms and secure storage there also. Definitely one of the better hostels I've stayed in and a great base for exploring Lisbon.

I found the mattresses a bit hard but that's probably just me! I prefer something softer!! The staff seem, in the main, to be volunteers and some are much better than others! That said, on balance, they were great.

Amazing view of Lisbon from the dorm window and balcony. Great location close to all sights and polite reception. Usual breakfast and nice common living area.

Bit noisy doors and corridor especially during the night when people are returning from the city.

It's a very nice place to stay with all the facilities in an incredible historic building, a nice garden lounge and a terrace with stunning view. Room is very clean and bed is ok. Staff is superb and gives you the right info about good restaurants and places to go. Family rooms make it possible to take kids and they have some entertainment as pool table and football table. It couldn't be best located in the centre of Lisbon best place Chiado!

During the week the room was not too bad but on the weekend with 10 people sharing was too busy, bathroom too busy and breakfast missing food one hour earlier than the finish time. I think they are not prepared to give support for the quantity of people they want to accommodate. Family rooms have shared bathrooms which is not very useful.

The location and access is very good, nearby the Chiado Metro station and also near Cais do Sodré station, where you can get bus/trains. the hostel itself is good, there is a garden on the ground floor and a terrace with very good view from Lisbon. the breakfast was simple, but there were different types of bread, ham/cheese, cake, fruits, coffee, cold milk and orange juice. The water bottle price was reasonable, 2 EUR by 1.5L bottle. shower with good water pressure and good temperature, hot water was enough.

The bathroom was quite a mess, because there was a kind of "water leaking" from the shower, which flooded the floor when use it. However it was clean.

Good location, room was huge with air con, nice garden, well thought out common areas and nice vantage point.

I had a private room with a bathroom, but the listing didn't make it clear that the bathroom was external to the room. It wasn't a problem, more of a surprise but was a bit annoying as the room was located in the corridor that accessed the garden. So it was a bit like mission impossible going in and out without being seen in my pj's! I know it's an extra step, but providing a robe would be helpful so you can walk back and forth without having to get dressed every time. The property is located on a very steep slope, which was fun with a suitcase. I think it would be very inaccessible if you had any mobility issues. On the last day of my stay, I cheated and used the bica elevator to avoid the uphill to get to the hostel as one of the stops is only 5 minutes walk away.

If you get the view over the river, it is magnificent, especially the moods of the day. The breakfast is simple but solid and tasty. The elevator is very much appreciated. Also, the garden is a retreat to unwind or to socialize with friends. The hostel has ample rooms to retreat for a round of cards, table football, or reading. Very nicely appointed everything. The staff at registration is very helpful ans 24 hours available.

Th dorm rooms should have stools/chairs to occasionally sit for dressing or to put clothes on. The hostel does not offer towels or washcloths within its rate. Towels can be rented, they are expensive - 4 Euro each!! You better bring no car, because there are no chances that you get a spot in the neighborhood. The best rate for underground parking is 30 Euro or more, plus walking at least one mile one way.

Easy to find from the metro station, 5 min walk. Really central to everything. I had a double room, which had lovely high ceilings and a balcony. Really spacious with good quality bed linen and housekeeping for the 3 days I was there. Breakfast included, which was appreciated.

A little noisy early evening and late at night as people came back to their rooms but to be expected in a hostel and a large old building plus a shared bathroom. My room was next to the bathroom and noise carries. Earplugs and aircon solved the issue though and I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Lisbon.
