The Editory Riverside Santa Apolónia Hotel

Location - convenient, central and with fabulous view of river on one side and city on the other. Downtown and all major tourist spots are at walking distance from hotel or 5min away in Uber. Train station is adjacent to the hotel and it's very convenient for intercity or inter state travel. Uber is available 24*7. Safe for solo female travelers even at late night. Staff - Helpful, warm and friendly. A perfect blend of history and heritage in the common area and best of latest amenities in the rooms for comfort and luxury! loved the 5 days I stayed there. Breakfast spread was good and staff was accommodative of any specific requests.

We were given a voucher for a "buy one get one free" Chef Menu at the restaurant — I asked if a booking was required and staff said it wasn't. I decided to book with them anyway to make sure we didn't miss out. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were told they couldn't honour the voucher as it wasn't specified in the reservation that we would be using it (even though the reservation was made by reception staff). No resolution was offered besides "you can use it on another night", but we had saved it for our last night there… Visibly dirty sheets weren't replaced when cleaning the room, or when requested to housekeeping. Not enough storage space in room or bathroom.

The hotel is beautiful and really well looked after. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very helpful. They upgraded us to an ocean view room when we arrived for no extra cost. The location is excellent, really close to Alfama neighbourhood. The room had everything we could possible need, it was clean and even extra coffee pods and bottles water were provided during our stay for free. The room was clean, perfectly sound proof and the air conditioning was great. Very relaxing stay and would definitely go back to stay. Train station/ metro station located next to the hotel is a plus too.

Room was a tiny bit small but we wouldn’t change our stay for anything. We absolutely loved it.

We had an amazing stay. We arrived at the hotel earlier ( 5am ) than expected due to an early flight. We were well received by the receptionist ( tall with glasses - we believe his name is Antoine or Antony ) who was simply amazing and took great care of us giving us our room plus an upgrade to a deluxe room . We were out of words. He really made a difference to our stay. He is a great face of the hotel and clearly can tell he loves his job

Honestly, everything was great ! Location , service, facility ( we literally stayed on-top of a metro ) it doesn’t get any better than that You

Staff was absolutely exceptional. We hesitated between staying in the city center and your place. We chose your place because of the historical building and the cleanliness rating. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome, service and view from our room. The view was absolutely beautiful and soothing, especially during blue and golden hours. We never thought of that before booking and it definitely added value to our stay. The location was ideal for walkers like us. Also, we liked the fact that we were directly above the train and metro station.

The luminosity in the bathroom and there was no mirror at the entry.

We liked the location, the design of the hotel and how this old building is preserved. The staff was super friendly, very polite and open to help us or give us the answers. It's fantastic how the insolation is done in the hotel. You do not get to hear any noise from the outside even though the hotel is above the railway station with trains coming in and out all the time.

The breakfast is really nice, but it gets busy in the morning, and you have to wait for certain staff to be prepared again. The rooms are really small, especially the bathroom and the toilet. However, we were there for the Lisbon and hotel was just a place for a sleepover and a breakfast in the morning.

Beautiful building, with Wes Anderson vibe lobby. The staff was very kind and attentive. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of choice and fresh ingredients. The location is awesome, short walk to everything

Our door lock was broken which resulted in us (without us noticing) left the room open for our whole stay. We only noticed when checking out and reception didnt seem to be very apologetic, luckily nothing was missing from the room. The toilet door was see through, which is completely stupid, having zero privacy there. The shower door is frosted but toilet isnt - really awkward in a small room.

All the staff was very friendly, from the moment we entered the hotel until we said goodbye. The hotel is 1.2 km away from Rua Augusta and is super closed to the neighborhood “Alfama”, you can walk to a lot of nice places (Lisbon Cathedral, Castelo de S. Jorge, Praça de Comércio, etc) It has great facilities, our room was on the first floor so it was convenient, the restaurant serves breakfast from 7:00h -11:0h and they have lunch and dinner, they also have room service for an extra fee of €7,5. The hotel also has a gym with one elliptic, treadmill, bicycle and lifts, all the equipment is brand new.

The only thing we didnt love was that everyday at night we would come back and prepare ourselves a coffee but they never replace the sugar we had used so we had to ask for more every night.

The staff is incredible: concierge, reception, restaurant and housekeeping are all willing to assist, and are extremely polite and professional. The location is fantastic. You can reach the hotel by taxi from the airport or you can use the metro which stops right by the hotel. In addition to the metro station, there is a train station and also taxis right outside if you need one. You can also walk easily into the old town of Alfama, and along the river to the main town centre. The riverside location is also great for a run in the morning along the water. The restaurant has a great menu (limited if you are vegan but you can manage), the restaurant area is beautiful and you can relax in it after a long day exploring. The building itself is stunning and the renovation from station office block to hotel beautifully executed.

Just one tiny thing, the room was really small. The building is converted from old station offices so perhaps there wasn’t many options. If possible try to book a bigger room.

amazing location inside the Santo Apolónia train station, but rooms are soundproof so no pesky trains. The gorgeous entryway, high ceilings and decoration, are just the start, with a gorgeous restaurant and bar and absolutely beautiful room, everything was such a high standard. A lovely riverside walk into the heart of the city only takes 20 minutes, or you can weave through the streets and explore the outskirts on your way. metro/buses/trains/taxis all available right outside with a few cafes round the side to have your morning coffee. The customer service was excellent from every single member of staff, a smile and greeting every time we saw them and nothing was too much or little to ask of them.
