Luxurious, large room in historic building. Friendly, helpful, even enthusiastic service. Fine dining breakfast.

A noisy, heavy (but not soundproof) bathroom door - an odd choice for otherwise well-refurbished rooms. Walls between guest rooms not at all soundproof. Shortly after making full payment we were told by the hotel that our stay was in carnival time and indeed a nightly, loud, large concert took place across the road from our room, with rock music after midnight. Thanks for telling us.

It's absolutely incredible. We booked the king suite with access to three balconies! It was beautiful and gave us great sites to the old town. The staff also was helpful in booking taxis and events. Additionally, they were very welcoming of our 2x dogs traveling with us. Lastly, breakfast is a must-have! It was one of the top breakfasts in my life.

The front door was very difficult to find, google made it seem like it was on the busier street. We made some edits to the Google maps location to be up the stairs. The stay is well worth it!

everything ! this is a home from 1909 that is absolutely charming and beautiful. I’m the middle of the old area with walking distance to the big square and very close to many fado places. the staff and breakfast were tremendous.

nothing that I didn’t like - however it will be a problem for people with disabilities as there is a spiral staircase to the rooms and a very steep stone stairway up to the hotel after walking up a cobblestone hill. getting up there is a challenge with large luggage.

everything - the hotel is stunning, so beautiful and unique inside; one review mentioned a “run down feel” - honey this is called old world charm and it was lovely. the staff was beyond helpful and pleasant. the outdoor terrace was LOVELY gorgeous sunny space and water view. the breakfast was ridiculously good - all included and made to order essentially whatever you like. great location - not far from a lot of sights but quiet at night. 15/10 would stay again :)

The hotel was gorgeous, the staff was very kind, and the room was clean and comfortable.

Did not get the room I thought I was booking. Even the hotel admitted they made a mistake. The staff was very nice and apologetic for the mistake, however, it was the first days of my honeymoon and it wasn't what I wanted for my bride. Everything else was good and I would stay there again. The staff did provide us with a honeymoon perk. Thank you for that. It was appreciated.

Lovely and unique courtyard entrance with stained glass windows, historic hotel with loads of character. Our room was very spacious with a lounge area and large bathroom with walk in shower. Double full length French windows. The hotel porter staff were attentive and took care of our requests in a friendly & professional manner.

A lot of tourists stopped outside in the local Tuk Tuks so quite noisy, but this calmed down later in the evening. The room was on the second floor so they did not intrude so much

Location, Ambiance , Suite sizes and especially Xavier who was just amazing so kind and professional.

Because of how this amazing historic hotel is built most of the suites have internal windows which do unfortunately allow noise and loud conversation from the lower entrance area to impact the peace of ones own suite particularly in the late evening.

This hotel is easily one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. The location is excellent and the staff and service were exceptional. Breakfast was a real treat. We booked a taxi transfer through the hotel at €35 each way and I would highly recommend doing that as it is tricky to find. They have their own private driver who was very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a complimentary mini bar with soft drinks, juice, water and a beer which was replenished each day which was a very nice touch.

Fantastic, beautiful light filled room, excellent service

We were not fully prepared for the entrance challenge of the steps from the taxi drop off. However, the staff came right out and helped us. Perhaps a better description of the entry options would help . Tiago was excellent with check in , helping book outside services and restaurant recommendations. He also serviced breakfast with style and humor. We highly recommend this hotel!

The property is beautiful however the photos for the Deluxe Suite with River View room are not of the room we got. The photos are of a room that looks much larger with doors to a balcony. Our room did not have these features.
