Madalena by The Beautique Hotels

Conviniently located in the heart of Lisbon it is a hotel that really meets the "boutique" standards. The interior design is very detail oriented with dinstinctive female touch, including shoes and accesories from famous haute couture disigners. In the rooms the thechnology and the decoration are well integrated, making very nice union (special mention deserve the safe box and the TV). There are many other nice detials like the golden colour, the porcelain cups and the quality of the cotton sheets. Some of the furniture is also from well known designers.

The shower space door wouldn't close perfectly and some water was leaking outside. The minibar offer is limited.

We loved the boutique feel. The room details were great, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Within an hour of checking into the hotel, we were napping from our flight, and housekeeping tried to come into the room, even when we had our do not disturb red light on. That was a little weird. Also, the shower leaked a lot onto the floor, even with the shower door closed.

We loved our stay at the Madelena. The hotel is perfectly situated close to Rossio square and only a short walk to many other beautiful areas in Lisbon. The style of the hotel was very unique and we loved the interesting shoe collection in the breakfast room. The room was exceptionally clean and the complimentary water and soft drinks were very much appreciated. Breakfast was lovely- there was a selection of cooked, cold meats, cheeses, bread, fresh fruit and lots of pastries.

Everything is absolutely flawless in this hotel. The decoration is beautiful, the bed is comfortable, the shower is nice and the staff is extremely friendly. Extra points for the wonderful amenities and creams/soaps from l’occitane with a wonderful and fresh smell. The hotel is also in the heart of the city, so couldn’t recommend a better place to stay.

Only thing to keep in mind is that since the hotel is in the city center, there is no place to park to unload the suitcases. They do have a deal with the nearest parking place, however, so ask at the reception for a ticket and the car can stay there for 24h or longer depending on how long your stay is.

Great location. Pretty central to everything in Lisbon all the main areas are close by! Elevator was so quick and easy. The staff are the absolute stand out at the property. They go above and beyond. They are all awesome.

Overall the property was great, if I could offer any suggestions, our bathroom shower door would always seem to leak water from the bottom corner where the door closes. I think it’s more of a door not being able to close properly or maybe the seal needs replacing? The other thing I wish was for more storage space for clothes etc, but again… I’ve stayed in smaller rooms with less. We will be back again regardless.

Rooms were clean and I appreciated the robes in the room. The location was very convenient and within walking distance of the sites and neighborhoods we wanted to visit. The lobby staff was friendly.

The lobby area was quite small. We arrived on an international flight and it was too early to check-in to our room. The lobby restrooms were too small/not private enough to change, wash face, brush teeth after a long flight. It would be nice to have a more private rest room to change. The rooms did not have wash cloths. Only hand and body towels. The room did not have an ironing board and iron. We had to call the front desk to have it brought to our room.

The location is excellent. The reception staff helpful. The rooms and bathroom were lovely. Spotlessly clean. The bathroom toiletries were excellent, towels very fluffy. Loved how the curtains,blinds, light switches all worked electronically. The tv in the mirror is different. Didn’t have breakfast. Had a look and it was the same old,same old ,

There is no parking. To have to pay €25 euros a night for a motorcycle (€45 if you don’t have hotel pass) is rather excessive. Further down the road there is motorbike bays free.

We had the pleasure of booking 2 nights (seperately) here as we had change of plans. Booked the larger premium room the 1st night. We were put on the 4th floor. Indeed room is bigger but it felt unclean and basic - strong cigerette smell, carpets could be cleaner and room was noisy facing the street (we can hear faint cars and sounds). Even though it was not bad. The ammenities were nice (L'Occitane). Breakfast was good. Loads of English channels on cable! Now, Day 2, we had no choice as their premium larger rooms were fully booked so we had to move down to smaller 19m2 room on the 3rd floor. But "wow", we were so glad! Room was so nice, pleasant, clean and most importantly, the windows are completely soundproof! The room is of good size with it's layout and really great! We love it. Don't bother going for the "premium" and more expensive rooms! Experience turned out completely different. From cold and average to wonderful. Ammenities are not the same brand though...

Cigerette stench. 4th floor is bad and noisy.

Very thoughtful and great attention to detail in the design and functional build of the room and hotel. I loved the lighting and electric curtains! The location of the hotel is what was 🔑 to making our holiday really enjoyable. Easy access to a lot of landmarks.

The shower facility adjoined to the Toilet was quite small and it was quite difficult to get changed and move around. There also needs to be a hook to hang your towel in the shower but other than that, excellent hotel.

The hotel is very original and elegant in it's decoration. We stayed at the beginning and end of our trip. The second room on the top floor was more comfortable and larger. The staff, including the breakfast staff, could not have been nicer and did absolutely everything they could to help us from printing a document to restaurant suggestions and helping with our numerous bags. The nearby garage was a plus. Breakfast was good. And there is a good sushi restaurant in the hotel (the breakfast room in the morning). Location is great. Nice choice of pillows.

There wasn't much storage space for unpacking, we were on a long trip. It could be better for those who pack lighter.
