VIP Inn Berna Hotel

Would have given a higher rating on the satisfaction of the room, due to the smaller room size. Mine you I had upgraded to an Executive double twin bed room but the size stayed the same. Hotel is of the good standard of the VIP chain. View of the room- although I was located in the 7th flr. the view of the room gave in look to several backyard ceiling , roofing and building. Only 1 noticeable backyard of a house. Room very clean w/ daily services and toiletries replacement. Breakfast staff was plentiful with Deborah and Rafael outstanding service with their crew. As usual, with all Portuguese breakfast, plentiful of choice. The only unfortunate thing was the time for breakfast from 7:30AM TO 10 AM. PARKING WAS PAID W/ A $12 EURO FEE/DAY.I must say that I saw the same manager daily supervising the eating area of the breakfast. I stayed at hotel for over 8 days. Sign of a well run and managed organization.

AS MENTIONED, room size could be a little bit larger and the view little better, Although my view was away from the main street, it was very quiet with a nice breeze in the evening with the open window. I don't know how noisy a view facing the main street would be.

The room was comfortable in size, the bedding and cleanliness and bathroom were excellent. The two large windows in the rooms open very slightly which prohibits fresh air to circulate the room which I found annoying. The breakfast is good but if not included with your room rate [like our case] is simply overpriced for what it is, so take a short walk to the many nearby cafes. Good restaurants very nearby. Staff very friendly, lifts better than most. I would definitely stay here again which is the best thing one can say for anywhere really.

Room windows being prohibited from fully opening. Having to request a kettle rather than it being a part of the room's services. You will invariably put the TV on but you will need to scroll channels and it would have been nice for the hotel to provide a basic menu card indicating channel numbers for different genres such as news, movies and others. You will appreciate that I am being very picky here.

(I'm going to repeat some of the things I said in my previous review of this hotel, as this was my second stay here in a short period) The room was great, had everything I needed for my stay and was quiet. The aircon was also great and the staff seemed nice. The location couldn't be better, close to bus, metro and train stations and a supermarket, all within 3min walk. They have storage room for free, which was amazing for me as I was travelling a couple of days to another city and then coming back to their hotel and so they allowed me to leave my luggage there. This is a huge hotel with 10 floors (or more), so there is a mix of people staying here, but mostly I saw couples, lone travellers and large groups.

My stay was really good overall. I would just mention that the desk lamp was not working and the lighting could be a bit better in the room. I also had a problem of noise with the people next to my room. It seemed like a bachelor party of several men staying in two or 3 rooms right next to mine. One night they arrived at 2am singing and jumping around... I woke up startled. Another night they were frantically banging on the door next to my room after 23.00 at night. I called the reception but they seemed to calm down only after 1hour or so... so not sure anything was done about it. I guess I was unlucky with the room, but earplugs are very much needed in case things get roudy...

Clean and the staff was very helpful and pleasant. Close to a metro station so easy to get around. The bed was very large, which is good but also an disadvantage, as it leaves little space to maneuver trolleys/luggage. All in all I would say the place is adequate for a short stay.

Furniture is rather outdated and could be replaced/refurbished. Although decent for the price, I have stayed in similarly priced hotels with a bit newer furniture. A small fridge would have also been welcome. As mentioned, all in all the place is adequate for a short stay.

Although the location was not that busy and so quiet, it was close to all necessities restaurants, transport etc. Breakfast was super and good value for money. As regards the room they need some refurbishment but quite comfortable. The complementary bottle of water in our room at our arrival was a very nice gesture since we arrived late and tired.

More info regarding area and places of interest in the area. i.e. tourist information desk at reception area. An electric kettle and some coffee will be perfect complementing the water bottle.

I really liked staying at the hotel. Spent 7 days there for a business trip. Check-in and check-out were very simple and fast, the staff at the reception are polite. My room was very clean, with a new LCD TV, the bathroom even had a bathtub! They gave me a two-bed room, even though I was staying there by myself. The breakfast was pretty okay (although not too much variety). The Wi-Fi worked without any problems. Hotel has great connections to the Airport and to the city center. Overall, I really liked my stay!

The breakfast was good, but there wasn't a lot of variety so if you stay more 5 or so days, you might get fed up with the same food every day. That was the only thing I didn't particularly like.

The hotel benefits from an excellent location, only a few minutes on foot from the Entrecampos train station, the subway and literally steps away from Avenidas Novas. The front desk staff is very helpful and polite. The rooms are a bit small, but clean and with comfortable beds. A mini fridge was missing though.

Some of the cleaning staff was quite noisy in the mornings, sometimes at early hours. Also, the rooms have poor sound insulation. The windows though are good at filtering the outside noise.

property was in a good location with a few amnesties from 350 to 740 meters from the hotel. The hotel staff especially Fernanda was a good smiling lady. The rooms were super comfy and the bathroom was very neat. there is a bullfighting arena across the street apps 750 meters from the hotel which has some good choice of fast food available and halal.will definitely inform friends to stay here.

no Netflix on tv☹️. no coffee/tea or kettle in the room and no glasses or a bottle of water. Atleast your guests deserve this isn’t it Vip inn berna ?

Room as well as building is a bit dated but was kept spotless. Staff was always available to answer any queries. WIFI was beyond my expectations especially compared to other places in Lisbon where I stayed in the past. Although no power sockets near the bed. There were plenty of sockets next to the desk and in the room (5 or 6).

Lights could have been brighter. After 2 days with very professional and polite staff at the desk a very abusive young staff member ruined my last afternoon. you had to walk gauntlets past the smokers in front of the entrance
