Patria Hotel

Don't be fooled by "1 star", Patria hotel is very clean and up to a great standard. Our room was made and all towels were changed every day. The location is convenient, the bus stop is across the street, the metro at the first junction, and Uber from the city is only 5 euros.

The only real downside is that we found the mattresses to be not the comfiest. Other downsides, the rooms are a little small, but still have enough usable space for all your things (big wardrobes). TV doesn't tilt if you want to watch it from the bed.

The hotel is at a great location, 2 mins walk from the metro station (red line) that also takes you to the airport in 20 mins. The staff were very friendly and kind. The room looked exactly as on the pictures, so there were no surprises. It is small, but it's perfectly big enough for a couple with 2 cabin luggage to stay for a week. The room was super clean. Good breakfast selection: juices, coffee, pastries, breakfast rolls, ham, cheese, veggies etc. Very pleasant stay, if we were to return to Lisbon, we would choose the same hotel again.

It would be nice if the lights were dimmable in the room.

Cannot praise this hotel enough! The staff were so friendly and helpful especially Nelson who checked us in - he also checked us in last year! The hotel room was fantastic so clean and the little balcony room is fantastic so much space for the kids which was so helpful when we needed to repack our suitcase! We asked for a cot for our little one and Nelson brought it right up and set it up for us there and then. Location is great too, you can get the red line straight to the airport only takes about 20-25mins Super comfy beds and breakfast was tasty and fresh with plenty of selection

We have spent 6 nights at the hotel. Staff at the Reception all of them have been super helpful, speaking English, providing great assistance in non-trivial requests. The breakfast offering is the same everyday, but reasonably good and as it is a buffet style, was fine. Was positively surprised to find greenery in the breakfast offering. For a 1 star hotel sounds very good. Having a small private balcony with a nice view was a cool bonus.

Room cleaning. Even though the room was cleaned each day, there was no consistency in the way different cleaners have been doing their job - every day the room was left in an absolutely different (though accurate) condition. Poor wi-fi

Keep in mind that the rooms are really small. They’re comfortable, but small. If you’re traveling with big and many suitcases, might be a headache. Also, our check-in was delayed due to some issues to get the room ready and staff wasn’t much able to help or even allow us to reach the manager to try a solution, switch rooms or be compensated for the inconvenience. Only after insisting a lot, I’ve been able to contact the manager. However, she was nice and kind, understood our situation and worked to compensate our issue. Besides this inconvenience, everything went well and rooms were good and newly renovated. I still recommend the place.

The hotel is situated very close to Saldanha metro station, which is very convenient both for the direct metro link to the airport and to other public transport connections. There are also nice places around to eat. The rooms look like have been recently renovated. My room had an enclosed balcony, which really helped with noise reduction from the street: when closing down the glass windows in the balcony and the door between the balcony and the room, I could no longer hear outside noises. Air conditioning worked well. Toiletries provided, clean bathroom. Kettle and tea in the room.

There is some cigarette smoke smell generally on the corridors and the elevator - but thankfully not inside my own room. The place is not 100% accessible if one needs a wheelchair - there were a few steps to get to the elevator. In my case my mobility issue did not allow me to carry weight and the reception clerk helped me with my suitcase to the elevator, but this may be something to bear in mind for those who need it. The Wi-Fi was very unreliable, I could not connect to the network from my own floor, and the network from the floor above which allowed me to connect was super slow. There was a spring mattress, which is not my thing, so be aware of that.

The location of the hotel very close to Saldanha metro station makes it a perfect place to stay. The Saldanha metro station is on the red line and you can reach it from Lisbon airport. Although the hotel is located in a busy area but the rooms and very cozy, spacious, clean and comfortable. The supermarkets like Continente and Pingo Doce are located few minutes away and are open until 21:00. There is also a large organic store and organic restaurant located just in front of it.

I stayed on sixth floor room 605. The WiFi was extremely poor and I had to use my phone's 4G network to talk to my family. The choice and variety of breakfast items was also limited. I also stayed in the same hotel back in November 2019, but back that time the WiFi and breakfast were extremely good. But still I think that overall it is a very good place to stay. If management of Patria hotel can improve WiFi and quality of breakfast, then it will be one of the best hotels in Lisbon for the value of money. Despite some short-comings, I will definitely stay here again when I visit Lisbon next time.

The heating worked well and was easy to adjust. The staff were helpful and friendly. Cleanliness was of a high standard and the staff all spoke English well.

The room was smaller than expected making it hard to navigate inside the room. There was a bath with a shower above it and I would have preferred a self-contained shower and no bathtub. The safe was locked when we checked in and there were no instructions for changing the combination. These were all minor things that did not distract from the rest of our experience.

Great hotel for a short stay. Quite far from the city center but located in a beautiful neighborhood. The hotel staff were friendly and answered all our questions in English. Very good breakfast for this price. Clean and cozy.

The room we booked had a problem with the electricity, there was no lightning in the bathroom at all, but within 30 minutes we were moved to a new room, despite the fact the hotel was full. Both rooms (the one we booked and the new we lived in) had a shower, not a bath, as I'd originally expected and saw on the photos.

Everything looked as new: they have an excellent bed, new pillows (two per person, which is a plus for me!), the towels were really white. I have very bad allergies, and I was really happy that it was everything clean!

To be honest, the only thing that bother us (a bit) was that fact that the room is a bit “small”. We are tall people my husband and I so, to move around with a suitcase was a bit hard. I guess for people who have backpacks it is definitely easier.
