Chic & Basic Velvet

The property has a hospitable staffs, absolutely clean , comfy beds, dual sink in the bathroom, free wifi, free coffee, milk and water and near the points of interest, near supermarket and paid parking downstairs with elevator.

the bidet is not functioning during our 5-day stay. I have advised the receptionist but they just tell us “sorry” and told us the plumber will arrive next week. the rooms are not sound proof so you can hear noise but is bearable.

We loved the quirkiness from the labels in the toiletries to the upside down wording of the T-shirts, the modernness of the foyer and the blue lit hallways. The 24 hour reception desk was great as well as all who were at the desk. Breakfast was great and the staff very friendly, gracious and always seemed happy.

Free tea, water, and coffee is exceptional. The hotel itself is extremely well decorated and nice. Bathroom is big and fully equipped. Most of the staff was really lovely. Wifi is good and the lounge is a really nice space to hang out.

The walls are very thin so you can hear *everything* from the rooms around. Every single conversation, fart, and door opening/closing. I asked for a double bed when booking and it was in fact two single beds put together, so you couldn't really sleep in the middle because there was a gap.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. Great location (walking distance from landmarks and public transportation). It is only 10 min walking from the airport bus and is surrounded by amazing restaurants (try Zoe, a burger place around the corner), supermarkets, a shopping mall (with one of the best views from Barcelona). The breakfast was exceptional! Great quality, not expensive, lasts longer than other hotel breakfasts, and you can take it in their amazing terrace. Staff was super friendly and helpful. All of them went the extra mile to help and make our stay easier. This is the type of places you want and NEED when traveling with a toddler :)

There are mosquitoes in the terrace so bring repellent

The room is very clean, bathroom is great, room is a bit small though but it is okay for sleeping, location is very close to a bus station and metro to go everywhere you want. The staff accomadated us earlier than the check-in once we arrived which was so nice of them. It is worth booking if you are spending a few days un Barcelona and looking to visit all major sites.

I wish the room was a bit bigger. Bathroom is spacious though

The check-in desk was really nice and took care of our needs. One night I needed some ice for my foot and they promptly helped me with that. Also, the cleaning is flawless. We were in Barcelona for 6 days and every time we came back from town the room was clean, the bed was made and the towels replaced. An 10+ for the cleaning. Our room was perfect for sleep also, really dark (if that is what you are looking for). The location is excellent, really close to two metro stations and with lots of restaurants and markets in the vicinity. ( red line is fast to everything Center)

The room is a bit small. I recommend staying here for a 2-3 day city-break but not for a whole week. Even if the breakfast was really good and you have a variety to choose from( cereals, eggs, fruits, desserts, butter and gem) after 5 days you get bored with the same food. They could improve a bit this part :)

Hotel was nice - we only stayed one night. It was pretty easy to reach via taxi from the airport. They have good AC, the rooms are decently sized and my son like the bathtub. There is also free coffee and tea for guests. The wifi was fast and the matrimonial bed was nice and big.

Our room was supposed to be non-smoking but when we first went in it smelled like someone had been smoking in there. The problem with hotels that have windows that open is people try and sneak a smoke in non-smoking rooms. We were able to air it out by opening the windows for a couple hours but it still smelled of smoke when we left. We didn't want to ask for another room because we were traveling with family and wanted to be on the same floor and near them.

good location - a km and few more mtrs from city center. but, the main important location - the musical water fountain - the central market - the city museum are just few meters away. few good restaurants just outside the hotel. professional staff. excellent kitchen facilities and round the clock tea/coffee, mineralised water. excellent seating spaces. excellent location.

the value for money. - in the same charge, might be breakfast be included and still few more inclusions OR the charge be lesser. it’s really costly.

The location of the hotel is very convenient if like me you have to go to the Barcelona fair. It is in a nice neighbourhood not far from there, in a road quieter than the main "gran via" and close to many restaurants and bars. The terrace bar at the first floor is very nice.

The room I stayed was definitely more basic than chic and I found the price relatively high for the quality of the hotel but it could be that it was due to the specific dates I was staying there, as many events were going on in Barcelona, including the F1 grand prix.

I assume that not all rooms will be like this but my room is in the corner and the door is close to the next room. So if someone stand in front of either my room or my neighbor, I can hear other guest from a hall way and next door
