Hotel Viladomat by Silken

The hotel is very close to most of the main tourist attractions and is very well connected with public transport. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast menu is continental. Extra kudos to the lady who served us the breakfast every day. She was super friendly.

There were no glasses in the room (usually there are glasses for toothbrush and a small kettle to heat up water with tea filters in 3 star hotels) and we didn't have any toilet brush or pump for the toilet. One of the spot lamp in the bathroom was flickering so it was hard to shave but in the end I got used to it. The airco was barely working in the room and the windows were not made to be open wide (probably for safety reasons). You should tell people at the reception at check -in that the lights in the room only work when you insert your room card in the designated area next to the entrance door and leave it there. Apart from this it's a great value for the money I paid for the hotel room.

Hotel is not far from the city center

Hotel has shape with many angles. Corridors are not straight, but like a maze. Not convenient at all. Our room was with a view to the internal yard - means that there was no view from the window at all. Room was quite old and not looks like a 3 stars. Bathroom is small and not convenient. No duvet covers for blankets - strange. Not sure if they clean blankets. Hotel requires credit card pre validation, what is not visible during the booking process.

A quiet hotel, very comfortable beds, fast and simple check-in and checkout, friendly personnel, relatively close to the city center, not so far from metro stations (10 mins walking), good breakfast.

Unstable wifi - it disconnects suddenly. Sometimes the internet speed was very slow. Also I didn't like how web authentication worked - it was very tricky to pass this procedure (the browser didn't open automatically or didn't redirect to authentication web page). I could manage it of course, because I am an IT guy, but for the non-IT people it could be a challenge.

Was a good location from all main tourist attractions. Not too far from the main areas but enough away that wasn’t chaotic around the hotel. Room had air con so made sleep comfortable. Room was freshened up each day :)

Wasn’t as such a “didn’t like” but the staff were not really interactive, when we arrived a man on the desk just asked us for our passports and then checked us in, not a hello or a bit of conversation. There was one lady on the desk that was very helpful but other than her they didn’t really look happy to be there/ show a smile to their customers

No coffee maker in room

The location was superb. There were at least 3 metro stations within an 8-10 minute walk of the hotel, which we did not expect. You could go virtually anywhere in the city from those three stations. The front desk receptionists were also helpful in accommodating small requests here and there.

The neighbourhood itself was not quite as lively, though that may not be a bad thing if you're looking for something quieter. And, as mentioned, it was easy enough to get anywhere on the metro.

This is a 3 stars hotel which is comfortable and conveniently located, but that has seen better days. The staff was nice and helpful, the room was really big and the bathroom clean and practical. The location is good if you want to be in a neighborhood that is calm but close to the metro station and within walking distance (around 20 mins) to the main touristic area. There are also lots of cafés and restaurants around the hotel.

As mentioned, the hotel probably had its best days in the 80s-90s, so the furniture isn't the most modern, and some facilities, such as the air conditioning, is also getting a bit old. But that wasn't a deal breaker for us, as overall the hotel is comfortable and reasonably priced.

I really liked that the basic elements of the hotel were of high quality: Bed comfort, water temperature and pressure, linen and staff service (and bidet!). I think the focus on the basic elements in the facility are excelent, and is what every hotel should aim for (instead of offering half-baked extra facilities).

Curtain rails can be improved and luggage storage (when leaving luggage for a couple of hours after checking out) didn't have any security at all.

The size of the room and that everything was clean.

-It was very noisy from the boulevard; -we received internet for 2 nights, but we paid for 3 nights. If you have mobile data it’s fine, but it’s not very convenient if you have to ask for more internet from the staff. For me it didn’t matter, but if you pay for 3 nights, you should have free internet for the entire time there automatically. I do not like asking…

Staff friendly Shower was amazingly powerful

Location was perfect not too far from main attractions, approximately 20/25 minutes walk to the las rambles and harbour. And 30 minutes walk to the st lleuis stadium. Staff were very friendly and helpful, shower was amazingly powerful. Bed was super comfy Room cleaned each day, fresh towels and bed made. Nothing fancy just a clean spacious comfortable room. Would recommend
