Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit - SHA Extra Plus

The hotel is perfect and for sure, it is the best of my life (I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels around of the world!) for the quality/price ratio. Firstly, the staff and the service was really outstanding and always helpful and friendly and I want to mention especially some people that they made us feel like at « home » (we spent the whole week there) : Wawa, Aimmy, Jane, Noon (at the Club Lounge) Phun, Kook, New (at the door staff) Wannarat B. Nat (at the breakfast buffet) Location is very convenient, a few minutes walk from the BTS and MRT stations. We’ve stayed in a Carlton Club room (the bed was so comfortable!) and there were interesting benefits and privileges (pre-dinner beverages and canapés, laundry,..) Very good selection at the breakfast buffet and the « ristretto » café at Tuxedo Espresso Bar was excellent.

Nice rooms, very friendly and efficient staff, exceptional service; great big outdoor swimming pool; good location; enjoyed the Club Lounge.

The fact that on my first night I was told the Carlton Club lounge was closed for a private function. One pays extra in room rate for this privilege so it’s a bit much to then deny access to a guest. it’s a bit like paying for a room including breakfast only to be told the breakfast room is closed for a renovation. If they want to also have private functions there guests should be forewarned and given a reduced rate on the Carlton Club room accordingly.

Nice and clean hotel.

We don't like the service of the Colling Tower Roof top bar. The service was bad .My nephew and friends went up for a drink 🍷 and food. We are the in house guest so we just casual wear. The waitress service us badly . Given us a very small table but we requested alot of drinks and food until the table was so full not even got a space to put our food. whereas a lady just one person was given a big table as she was well dress up. But she only order a drink. This kind of treatment we won't go to your Roof top to drink again. The services and treatment was so badly reflected. We won't recommend for going.

The reception has taken a deposit of $600 from my card. Upon check-out they charged the card for my $500 accommodation. The deposit charge was not returned. I only got it back on my card a full month later. Such practice by Bangkok hotels should not be tolerated. Ask for cash deposit option instead.

The rooms and facilities were all very clean and new. The smell of the hotel on every floor was amazing and fresh. We actually saw the cleaning staff clean the elevators even though they were clean. This made us super happy and we felt safe and at home. The staff and service were top notch! Thank you Mr. Title our concierge for making my husband's birthday a special day. Thank you for the club lounge staff: Wawa, Pepe, Giff and Nasha. We love the breakfast staff too because they ask us about our daily plans and suggest places. All in all we felt like we were the only VIP guests in the whole hotel during our 9-day stay. Thank you we will be coming back.

Room cleanliness needs attention in the shower stalls.

We've stayed in some of the finest hotels in the world, including just about every hotel in Las Vegas (4 Seasons, Bellagio, Caesars, MGM, Wynn, Mirage) andthe Carlton Bangkok exceeded them ALL by such a wide margin as to defy belief. From exiting the car from the airport, to our final goodby, this Hotel exceeded our every concept of "luxury". The staff excells, is always friendly and attentive to customer support. Our suite on the 30th floor was exceptional. Large room, comfortable bed with luxurious bedding, double sheeted comforter and the best pillows I've ever slept on. Room darkening shades and sheers remote cotrolled from buttons by the nightstand. And the bathroom!!!! Oh my! there is a full length window to the bedroom with a remote controlled shade for privacy in the oversized bathtub. Top end ammenities, soaps, lotions, including daily refils of a shave package, toothbrushes and toothpaste, Qtips, shower cap, and so much more I can't even remember. The shower stall was HUGE with both a rainfall head and a handheld head. A giant marble seat in the shower made for EZ personal grooming. Towels to die for. The final treat is the glass enclosed toilet Jappanese Bidet (just like we have at home), heated seat, multi function heated bidet washlet,heated air drying. The only thing missing was a remote control. The room has a pod coffee maker, multiple types of coffee pods, multiple types of teas and a fully stocked minibar. Every morning we went to the included full breakfast located downstairs off the lobby. SO many selections for evey taste, all made fresh and to order. Easily a $75-100 breakfast buffet in the states. High tea every afternoon. And the happy hour at the rooftop bar...... OMG! Starts at 5PM to 7PM. Free cocktails, wines, beers and soft drinks. free food buffet of exceeding high end menus. All overlooking the Bangkok downtown skyline looking west for an exceptional sunset view.

That I couldn't take the staff and experience home with me

Hotel is very conveniently located to subway and restaurants. Facilities are comfortable and modern, including the in-house spa on the 10th floor, which is reasonably priced. Staff is very friendly and accommodating and they also speak English. The mattress and pillow were probably the most comfortable of the places I stayed in Bangkok. The rooms have ample lighting and storage space. Also, if the concierge calls you a taxi, they clearly state the price out loud for the driver to hear so they won't overcharge, which happens occasionally.

I had two short stays here and the first room I had was set up with the toilet directly in the shower and the water from the shower not only surrounding the toilet area, but it also seeped out into the rest of the bathroom due to improper drainage. This is inconvenient if not unsanitary. In the second room, the toilet was separated from the shower with a wall and drainage was bitter.

This place is SO CLEAN. The staff does an amazing job of keeping the facilities tidy, clean, and up to date. We loved this room and it was also at a great value! We continue to compare other hotels to this one based upon how comfortable and clean this one felt everyday we made our way back. The pool was also incredibly relaxing and sleek. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The hotel is located right in the middle of two BTS stations, so you must walk about 10 minutes to get to the closest one. On a hot, sunny, Bangkok day, that's enough to make you quite sweaty. Also, keep in mind here that you are on Sukhumvit Road where the traffic is horrendous at almost all times of the day. Take a grab bike instead to come back after a long day of sightseeing.

Rooms were not as small as in some other modern hotels. Room cleaning met my high expectations. Shower was nice. Will probably book again.

I was first told the restaurant was fully booked for lunch, then after ordering the meal set in the cafe in the lobby, I was told it would be possible to get a seat in the restaurant. It was completely empty. Not sure if they did not want to open it at all, or if there was anything wrong with me (short pants + short armed button shirt, so maybe my touristy appearance - but all hotel guests were casual those days). Since BKK is a food paradise with tons of options, I will probably select a different place next time.
