Novotel Bangkok Ploenchit Sukhumvit

I always stay here when traveling to Bangkok. The location is great! The staff go above and beyond! The rooms are so comfy and clean.

We came to Bangkok this time under the test and go scheme. We arrived and had our PCR on the first day about 2:30pm Our pcr test results were handed to us the next morning about 9:30am after i had called for them. Upon reviewing the document the pcr test result was on at 8:30pm the previous night. It would had been great to be told the result earlier. I called several times to ask the first night and I was told, no result, when there would of been.

Breakfast was great but you have to ask for the hidden bacon.

There was 4 hotel lifts but still it was slow.

not sure if the restaurant in front of the hotel is part of the hotel but the famous mango and sticky rice dessert was so sour and I couldn’t even eat more than one bite. the waiter told me that I still had to pay for it. it was pretty disappointing when there are thousands of sweet mangos available all over Bangkok to pay for something that can’t be eaten.

The room is very clean and tidy, breakfast is okay. The staff are very friendly and the location is right at the center of Bangkok, next to many malls, 7-11, pharmacy, embassies, and street food vendors.

Receptionists are pretty inexperience, I asked and known that she has just graduated and worked there for 2 months. When we checked in she (and 1 other receptionist) made lots of mistake with our names, rooms and passports, eventually it took us almost an hour to check in. But her attitude was friendly and nice so for us it is fine, but for other guests they may get impatient if they keep making mistakes like that.

Location was excellent. Walking distance to most places, it’s right next to the main road and BTS is practically right outside the hotel. Rooms are spacious enough for 3 adults. Shower water pressure is good. Toilet bowl has a door separation which is a plus. Gym is well equipped and clean. Even has a sauna. Staff were friendly and helpful.

You could tell the hotel is relatively mature, although pretty well maintained if you’re not fussy. The television in room is tiny, compared to the usual size these days. Extra bed is very old and mattress is very hard (although the king size is quite comfortable). The housekeepers do a good enough / decent job but are inconsistent. Additionally, as they tend to leave the room door wide open while cleaning the rooms, everyday there will be a new mosquito being let into my room to feed on my blood (because I would kill 1 each day and there’s always another the next day and these mosquitos I smacked, would smear blood all over my hands). I would wake up to multiple mosquito bites on my arm and face as they were not covered by the blanket.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Novotel Bangkok Ploenchit Sukhumvit, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. One of the highlights of my stay was the impeccable service provided by the hotel staff. They were attentive, professional, and always ready to assist with any requests or inquiries. Whether it was arranging transportation, providing local recommendations, or accommodating special dietary needs, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt valued and taken care of. In conclusion, my stay at Novotel Bangkok Ploenchit Sukhumvit exceeded all my expectations. The hotel's prime location, luxurious rooms, exceptional service, and outstanding dining options make it a true gem in Bangkok. The room is spacious, very clean Staff is very warm and polite i like the gym. I like that you provide empty space near the mirror so i can roll out my mat and do yoga there.

The wifi speed on Monday evening, 3rd of July was really slow that i couldnt open most of my files from icloud. Same breakfast menu every day. limited choices of fresh fruits (only 1 or 2, the rest is canned fruit) Power plug is only available on 1 side of the bed and nothing near the mirror. I use my own hair dryer and the power plug was too far from the big mirror.

Novotel Ploenchit hits the sweet spot of location, quality, service, and value! I rarely take the time to do a review unless I’ve stayed somewhere more than once and I did just that to make sure my review is legit. The only reason it is a 9 and not a 10 is because the live music in front on the hotel was not there during my second visit of 3 nights over a weekend. It was there during my first visit so it is fair to expect it the 2nd time as well. Regardless, I’m planning to return so hopefully the live music will be back. I’m hoping for a 10 if it does. Newly renovated room with good view on 24th floor. Fantastic that the room is quiet even though facing the expressway. Convenient travel desk at lobby with great tour arrangement & responsible communication of change of pick up time at hotel. Plenty of food options at next building.

No shelter from BTS in heavy storm and inflexible bar staff prompted us to detour into the rain again instead of letting us cut through to the hotel lobby when we had informed her that we were hotel guests. It is next to the BTS exit but there is only staircase leading to the hotel. For those travelling by train with luggages will need to take escalators from Park Venture-Okura exit (closed on Sat night) at the other end and use the (uneven) pavement.

I liked my room which was tastefully decorated and had a spectacular view of the great architectural buildings surrounding the Novetel Ploenchit. Also, easy access to the railtrain and so can get anywhere around the city conveniently especially to the airport if you are overnighting as I was. I left my main luggage in storage at the airport & took my overnight bag so I could get to the airport in a timely manner rather than risk taking a taxi & getting stuck in traffic! Will stay at the Novetel next time I am in Bangkok!
