This is a lively, friendly pub in the centre of town, it seems to be open all the time, the beer is good, the meals are good value. The rooms are above the bar but the building is solid and there was no noise problem - though there is Bingo and Karaoke on Sunday nights. Our room was lovely. The TV was rather small, but this was good - we didn't watch telly all week!

There was nothing I didn't like. If you want something posh and formal go somewhere else, but it suited us just fine.

Friendliness of the staff - nothing was too much trouble. Excellent breakfast, restaurant menu also good and all food cooked to order.

The staff were brilliant, so helpful, nothing too much trouble, the room was lovely, clean and well stocked with tea/coffee/biscuits etc. The room was large and airy with a very comfortable bed. The room was immaculately clean, a big thank you to Shirley and the other staff. The breakfast was great. For a spur of the moment booking, this turned out to be one of the nicest stays I've had anywhere in the UK.

Staff very helpful

No so much didn't like more it's just dated .

The room was spotless, en suite wonderfully decorated and clean. If more tea/coffee etc needed a tray outside the door all well presented so didn't need to keep asking someone. Breakfast was lovely also had 2evening meals there and they were fleshly cooked and value for money.

Only thing I could say is would prefer maybe a 2hr slot for breakfast , currently it's 8.30 to 9.30 maybe until 10 or 10.30 would feel less rushed.

Good breakfast and the staff were very friendly.the location was also a plus. A good place to stay in an unexpectedly lovely resort. The room and complimentary basket was an unexpectedly kind surprise.

Lots of stairs,unfortunately, that led to our pleasant room. Unfortunately we stayed on a boiling hot day and night, not knowing that there was a fan in the cupboard. We commented about a sign on the cupboard and it was hopefully on board

It’s such a friendly hotel. The staff, especially Shirley can’t do enough for you. The gentlemen at breakfast was also very courteous and helpful. Our twin room (no. 4) was spacious, clean and comfortable.

No parking! Unfortunately we arrived on one of the hottest days of the year, in a Saturday and couldn’t find anywhere to park. Luckily after driving around for some time we found a space in the central car park just opposite where Alan the ‘gatekeeper’ let us stay for £10 a night and didn’t charge us day parking on top. Also, the toilet flush and shower were really noisy and I was conscious of disturbing the other guests.

The bed was great and Conformable and the whole room was lovely in decor with plenty of coffee and biscuits to help yourself to with free breakfast including and exit door in room if was to hot aslo the fan was a bonus will be stopping again in the future.

The tv was a 4.3 I think so a little small and the shower didn't have much space none the less you could always bring you're own tv if staying a few nights part from those minors a great night.

it was right on the high st fantastic and friendly staff, laugh from the minute we got there they made us so welcome food was amazing too shout out to Legs funny guy ! Kev and Richard ❤️❤️❤️

only the fact of parking, ( NOT HOTELS FAULT ) has we were stung a bit by a fella across the road from hotel said £4 per day and £10 a night then later on when we had got to know the place , parking was free at night !!! nothing to do with hotel but it’s straight across the rd and we though it would be close enough to keep an eye on it .

Breakfast was very good and service was brilliant.

The fan had been taken from our room and we didnt realise this until next morning. We spent a very very uncomfortable night (hottest night of year). We sat down to eat in the garden on Monday night but the tables were filthy and when I asked for a cloth to clean our table, the man collecting the glasses said he would come back and clean table, but he never did so we left and ate somewhere else!!
