Gwesty Minffordd Hotel

The location was perfect. I went on a Hike with the Muslim Hikers to hike Cadair Idris next door. Breakfast was nice. I had a Vegetarian Full English and Cheesy Toast. The facilities were good.

Since the property is old, with stone bricks the WIFI signal could not penetrate the walls. WIFI only worked in the corridor outside the door or right next to the door inside my room.

The hotel is in a wonderful location with amazing views of the mountains.It is a lovely period buildingGordon the host was lovely and helpful and we had lots of chats.Everything was spotlessly clean and attractive.Food was perfect and laid out nicely.Lovely breakfast with loads of choice.The hotel is in a very good central location to visit most areas of WalesI stayed for 8 days and cannot think of anything I didn’t like.A really lovely place.Thanks Gordon🙂

Was visiting the Mach Loop, and it could not be better placed. Just over 2 miles from the parking for Cad West. The evening meal and breakfast can not be faulted, perhaps the portion was a wee bit too big. A quiet drink in the bar and a chat with the owner was great company for o lone traveller.

Room was a bit warm (but it was v warm that day, and thundery.)

The hotel is set in a great location. It is nice and quiet and great for getting away from it all. The food choice for dinner was excellent and the food that I order was really good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in the price, excellent choices and good food.

I think the hotel was fine how it was.

Great location just by the main road, however it's very quiet. The room is spacious and functional. Dated but very clean. The food is fantastic (both breakfast and dinner) and there was a good selection of bottled drinks.

Bar is limited to bottled drinks, Wi-Fi only available in the bar/restaurant.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location, best breakfast ever and evening meal was spot on, nice bottled beers, owner was very helpful. For me having no TV was heaven, who wants to watch depressing news when ur in a place like this.

Owner is very nice and chatty but needs to give people a bit of space , especially when eating their food, but he means we'll. Bed was a bit noisy.

Breakfast was spot on, Full English, the location is in the centre of many things, Cadre Idris walk next door, Cad West/Cad East 5 mins down the road, Corris Corner opposite car park, lake Tal-y-llyn is 5 mins down the road, 15 mins drive to nearest town, choice of 2, Twynn beach 20 min drive away. Tal-y-llyn Railway centre is 10 min drive down the road, lovely walks, plenty of local Inns to stop of at as well. So if like Walks, Low Flying Aircraft, Trains, Beach this is the place. in a lovely location.

There wasn't anything, loved ever minute, lovely place to stay. Cant fault a thing.

Brilliant. Just what I was after. Great value. Cosy. Host was great. Very chatty, interesting and helpful. Room was very clean and tidy. It has a very homely feel. Food was superb. Nice and hot, well presented and tasty. Location was perfect for Cader Idris. Incredibly clean. Nothing was too much trouble. Parking was easy. Would definitely stay there again. They are doing a great job in troubling times given Covid etc. 10/10

Lovely old building with history. The owner was kind and attentive, ensuring I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Great food. The location was perfect as I was going up Cadair Idris and it’s right at the foot of the mountain.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

Excellent location for the mach loop which is why we went. The owner was very nice, and knowledgeable.

Not really anything else to do if you don't like walking, it is out of the way, but we went for one reason and it was excellent
