staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. we were slightly worried when we turned into the road, but it is in fact in a lovely area and a great location. very clean place and super breakfasts

no air conditioning in the room. room was hot and with a train track at the back, could be noisy. trains don’t run through the night tho

We had a fabulous stay at Tara Lodge - two nights in Belfast a day apart when we went to discover the coast. Very convenient location a stone's throw from the street with lots of eateries but completely quiet, comfortable rooms with great beds (we stayed in a twin room), nice large screen TV, clean, free and convenient parking. But the real outstanding bits were the fantastic breakfast (Irish porridge with whisky! Smoked salmon rolls! Veggie options! Mmmm) and the staff who were super helpful (we arrived early and also left luggage during the day). But Groene at Reception deserves a special mention: What a bright, caring, competent, friendly young woman: if she is how Belfast's / Northern Ireland's hospitality sector gets to be then there is no stopping them! We will never look for another place to stay if and when we visit again.

Nothing we didn't like ;-)

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were generous with their time and were very pleasant. The room was exceptionally well equipped - hairdryer, straighteners, DVD player, coffee machine, kettle, iron and ironing board and even a small bottle of milk rather than tiny cartons. Really comfortable bed. Whole lodge must recently have been refurbished and this had been done to a high standard with good quality furniture and fixings. Breakfast really good. Free Parking on site (rare in Belfast centre). If we went to Belfast again we would definitely return and would definitely recommend.

The location was a 15 minute walk from Belfast city centre - not a huge problem even to someone needing a new hip! The area where the lodge is situated is close to Queens University and is a touch run down. But in saying that we were less than 2 minutes walk from a brilliant array of multi cultural eating establishments and some really good bars. This to us cancelled out the poorer area.

My room was excellent. Spacious, plenty of tea/coffee, bottled water etc. Gorgeous wet-room style bathroom with loads of fluffy towels, nice toiletries. The bed included lots of big comfortable pillows and cushions, and overall was amongst the most comfortable bed of any hotel bed I have slept in on my very extensive global travels. The Reception staff and Breakfast staff were faultless in their warm welcome and helpfulness. The entire hotel, petite as it is, is beautifully presented with lovely furnishings and impressive original artwork lining the stairs and landings. The breakfast menu, food presentation and quality was just so good!

The single reason I haven't rated my stay as a 10 (but given a 9) is simply because Cromwell Road itself is a rather quirky road.

This little gem hidden away in a quiet street is fantastic place to stay. Staff are incredible nothing is too much for them. Breakfast is exquisite compliments to the chef and all the staff. Beds very comfortable, room sizes very good too. The staff gave us a beautiful card and chocolates and a bottle of fizz as we were the first couple to use the hotel who were getting married nearby. The rooms are centrally located and with triple glazed windows you are sure to have a restful sleep. Highly recommend Tara Lodge 5☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️. We will definitely be staying here again.

Can’t think of anything. Everything was perfect.

Tara Lodge was like a home from home. The staff were very, very, friendly and we were greeted by a smile every time we walked in. The rooms were lovely, and very comfortable. The breakfast was really good, and the service was excellent. The location was great for us, close to the main bus station, just around the corner from Botanic station, a short walk from the university and botanic gardens, and close to many restaurants and bars. However, what really made the difference for us was the lovely note and the box of chocolates in our room when we returned for the second time. I know that a lot of guests probably get this, but it was such a sweet gesture it really made an impression.

I honestly can't think of anything negative to say.

Hotel was in a quiet location but only about a 10 to 15 minutes walk to centre of Belfast, Room was spacious and had windows that could actually be opened. Fridge in room stocked with mini bottle of milk and bottles of water. Also hospitality tray with tea/coffee sachets and biscuits and an electric kettle. There was also a coffee making machine. As well as a hairdryer there was also hair straighteners. Much more items provided than in more expensive hotels. Good choice of hot and cold food for breakfast. Staff so very helpful and friendly. An excellent hotel.

For a small hotel, the customer service was top notch. Possibly the friendliest we have ever experienced. We arrived early and dropped our cases off. When we checked in later on,the cases were already in the room. They guided us to the best coffee shops in the area and pointed us in the right direction for all the attractions. The breakfast also was very good. Given that we only stayed one night, we were treated like royalty Location is very good. Especially to see the queen's quarter attractions. Bus stops just on the next street to get you into town (or a 15 minute walk). Very little noise even though we overlooked a small train station.

The receptionist, Keely, was very attentive and friendly. We had a little issue with our room on our second night but was quickly and smoothly rectified. Ricky who was in charge for breakfast was very nice and helpful too. Food was lovely and the service was excellent. Location was good, 10/15mins of a walk to the city center and it's the same time if you take the train at Botanic which is down the road from the Lodge. As majority of places to stay in Belfast charge for you to park and leave your car so this was a great relief to be able to securely park the car and not have to worry about a carpark bill at the end of your stay.

The parking is grand, it's a small area and it is a first come, first parked but was fine for our stay. Our standard room had no fridge but had Netflix but the upgrade room had a fridge but no Netflix. But other than these MINIOR things nothing to dislike.

The reception staff were all excellent and very welcoming/pleasant each time I passed. My room was in the separate block through the car park, and upon check in I was shown right across. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the breakfast as the previous night’s activities meant I didn’t get up on time.

The only thing I didn’t like was the television being off to one side of the room, which meant it was difficult to view from the other side. A minor inconvenience, however.
