Bed was so comfy, decor is vibrant, staff were helpful and welcoming.

It’s petty but not enough milk capsules in the room for both people to have a tea/coffee. Using the life to go up to the room so tricky as you have to use your card first and it doesn’t say if it worked. Could do with a green light or a beep to say it’s registered

Location was excellent for walking from Coach station and city centre and very good for walking to and from Villa Park. The room had excellent a/c which was very welcome. Although the receptionist said we had been given an upgrade it was hard to tell what had been upgraded as it appeared to be exactly the room I had booked! All staff were friendly and welcoming.

Breakfast buffet was a little underwhelming. No visible vegetarian options - although on the 2nd morning we did notice someone being served vegetarian options- obviously available but had to be requested. Used plates and dishes remained on table for the duration of our breakfast on the first morning but were cleared quite promptly on the second morning. (To be fair it was very busy on the Friday morning!) Obviously the price had been increased due to the Springsteen concert and Ashes cricket- I suppose that is inevitable. Only two bar staff on duty as crowds returned from concert- leading to very long queues for drinks for those who had waited for taxis to return.

Fantastic Location and city parking close by at a low rate for the a city. Are purpose of the stay was to celebrate my friends birthday and to watch a concert in Villa Park. The Hotel went above and beyond by allowing me to check in earlier to decorate the room but also going the extra mile but writing a birthday message on the mirror and surprising my friend with a chocolate decoration. Would defiantly stay here again. Fantastic Value for Money !

The Breakfast Area is small and very busy at peak times. The breakfast is very nice just be prepared to wait if having breakfast at a peak time.

Hotel is within walking distance of the city centre. We walked through the Aston University campus to get to town and it was lovely. The hotel is on a quiet street. Very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. We ate bar food which was appetising and the free pool was a fun bonus. There was a lovely chocolate bun awaiting me in the room with a happy birthday message both with the cake and on the mirror which was such a lovely personal touch, thank you!

The one and only complaint I have is that 24/7 pizza is advertised on all the tables in the lobby/bar and in the elevators but both nights that we tried to order a pizza, we were told it wasn’t available. The advertisement is misleading and should probably be removed / changed.

Great for location and exhibition. Excellent staff. Particularly the Restaurant manager who sorted out our bonuses for the meals even though the official confirmation didn't come through by email until we had left! We were surprised to find a car park under the hotel which is free! It would be good to tell us about this at booking

When offering bonuses, make sure they are actually applied. Range of meals very limited but good. I had both dinners that I could eat, but if I stayed a third night, I would have needed to repeat. There are no restaurants in walking distance, so you need to eat there or travel.

Ideal location, with cheap parking nearby which is rare for Birmingham!

They were missing shower gel in the bathroom & some of the washcloths were ripped

The design of the hotel was amazing and the room was spacious. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. The room had plug converters which was very useful and the gym was well equipped.

We asked for a quiet room and instead constantly had people partying in the room next to us. On the last night even until 4AM. It seemed like a hostel more than a hotel. I wrote the reception that my mum would arrive before me (the reservation was on my name) and at the reception they wouldn't let her check in because they didn't believe her. Frankly quite weird. I've never had that happen before.

Loved the fact that the room is exactly how it stated on the pictures. So was not disappointed at all, well beyond my expectations. The bed and pillows are so comfortable to sleep on, had the best sleep at the hotel. The staff are friendly, approachable and willing to help. The hotel is very close to the city centre about 15mins walk Loved that the room are sound proof so you cannot hear other travelers in your room. I will definitely book this hotel again if am ever in Birmingham

I didn't like the fact that it doesn't have spa facilities. Didn't like that I asked one of the staff for extra sugars for my room only to be told that they usually charge extra but she will only do it this one time. I mean am only asking for few not the whole box of sugar 😉

The staff were superb -very friendly and efficient . a really well run hotel. In particular all the breakfast staff from front of house to those clearing and cleaning were incredibly efficient at quickly sorting tables for guests during a busy service. Especially liked the availibility of non dairy milks and breakfast pastries

My only complaint is that like so many modern hotels there is no ability to open a window - it is all air conditioning.At night I like fresh air when it is warm outside. The problem with AC is that I was kept awake one night by the noise of the AC is someone elses room coming through the vents A minor observation is that the natural yogurts for breakfast were only low fat or fat free - Id like " normal fat " natural yoghurts please!

Such an easy review to write. Rooms clean, facilities great etc etc. Now for the real reason for the review. The staff are outstanding and by that I mean all staff so it’s leaves me little room left to relay just how much some staff go beyond outstanding but here it goes. The restaurant manager, the waitresses the bar staff all superb but a special appreciation to the evening staff the lovely ladies at reception, the night manager who absolutely gets what hospitality should be (that includes all her team including security) I’ve stayed at many hotels and this one takes pole position in the people that work there and run it category. The only way I can think to explain it is if you were to imagine your best friend owns a hotel and invites you to stay several nights… that’s how they look after you. On a side, this was our first visit to Birmingham and our take away regards what we experienced was lovely, everyone friendly, city is bustling, so much positive energy. Only one visit but I’ve got to say… I like it more than London. Thank you all at Aloft Birmingham.
