Hotel at Conference Aston

The room was excellent and larger than I had anticipated. Comfy bed lots of hanging space in the cupboards. Quiet and calm space. Light and airy. Nice modern bathroom. Well equipped. Everything you could need and everything was spotless and well cared for. I stayed here for work and it is close to major routes and perfectly placed. Lots of car parking when I was there which was appreciated after a long journey. The campus at Aston Uni is beautiful and the wild geese seemed to be very happy residents!

The internet was patchy but that's not within the hotel's control and the shower was a little less powerful than I might have liked but again this is more eco friendly. It was a little confusing finding my way from the carpark but when I found the signage it was all good!

Nice modern rooms with everything a hotel room should have including windows that could be opened slightly on a tilt. Great breakfast. Very helpful staff. Nice surroundings on campus. Quiet, airy and green. Still central - an easy walk to the centre. We are very happy that we changed our original booking to Hotel at Conference Aston. It suited us perfectly.

The breakfast room was a bit cold, but as soon as we mentioned it, they did something about it. The staff were warm and friendly and helpful. The experience in the second, single room that we booked was not as high, but quite acceptable.

The room was compact but had everything I needed and was clean and laid out well. Crucially, it had a USB charging point which I needed as my phone had died earlier in the day and had forgotted to bring a plug. It was easy to find and well signposted, even without the information on my phone to help me get there.

There really wasn't anything I didn't like about it. If I'm really nit picking, they (apparently) had cookies at the front desk rather than in the rooms to save on packaging, but you only find out about them when you get to your room and turn on the TV, which in my case was a bit of a trek to go back just for that. Still, if I was really hungry I'd have gone back, and as a result I'm a bit healthier from not having eaten lovely cookies.

The room was immaculate and the bed was comfy. I slept really well and was not disturbed by any noise. I could also open the window a little bit which let the fresh air I like into the room. I always find hotels too stuffy. I was there to visit my son who is a student so the location was amazingly handy for his accommodation. I booked parking separately but the car park was on the campus as well. I did not use the restaurant or bar so can't comment on those but I was offered the option when I booked in. I would definitely stay there again when visiting Birmingham,

I just got a bit lost in the corridors but I have a terrible sense of direction. The lift I caught from the 3rd floor the first time only stopped on the first floor - it did not go down to reception. After that I walked to the lift that I used to get up to the third floor from reception.

The hotel is very comfortable and located in a nice area. I was upgraded to a bigger room, and everything was very comfortable. I also asked for non-diary beverages, and the staff put soy milk in the room’s fridge.

Despite having the door locked and asking not to come in, the cleaning lady called me on the room’s phone to ask me again if I needed my room cleaned. It was a bit intrusive because I was still sleeping (the reason why I didn't want her to come in) Having the lock on should be enough notice.

Excellent facilities and room, great amenities, convenient location and nice views. Staff was very friendly and helped me with any needs, great value for money and will definitely stay here again upon my return to Birmingham. Bathroom was spacious with modern, powerful shower, and good supply of toiletries. Modern hotel in a perfect location, with beautiful surrounding park.

Toilet had marks on it which wouldn't go even with water, needs some thorough cleaning with cleaning sprays. The parking facilities are something that needs attention as not many options for hotel guests and out of hours parking. Otherwise excellent hotel she great value for money.

Clean comfortable rooms. Fairly easy to get a taxi to the town centre and New Street Station .£7- 10 at time of writing, March 23. Staff very helpful. Conference centre within the (open) University campus. I liked access to a drinks machine and nibbles during the day. Great all round. Would happily stay again!

The swimming pool is an architect's delight !But, you do have more of a walk than they say. It was built circa 1902, so it is beautiful brickwork, artistic and creative. It would be good if there were a modern pool with whirlpool within the hotel, as in winter it will be cold to walk there.

The room was small but had everything I needed for a solo traveller. Comfy, warm queen bed with super plump pillows. There was a desk with chair, lamp and plenty of plugs so I could keep working on my laptop. Iron and board there, plus extra fleece blanket and pillows if you needed them. Working TV and clean toilet/ shower.

I arrived early evening after a conference and the bar wasn't open so I couldn't even get a bottle of water. There were no vending machines either. I had to go to the nearest Tesco, which was only a few seconds walk but would be nice if I didn't have to leave the hotel.

The hotel reception was welcoming, the check in was simple and efficient. I was given an accessible room which was accessed using a large lift and the doors to the corridor and the room had key card security. The room was clean, bed was comfy and the desk in the room was large which was useful for my studies.

I was disappointed that there were no accessible undercover routes from the hotel to the disabled spaces in the car park. This meant wheeling my suitcase approx 150m up and along the pavement and navigating the ramps to and from the car park.

I stay in this hotel everytime I visit my son at university. It is convenient for uni, for town centre, for parking and if you know where you are going for access to the motorway. I complimented everything last time I left feedback but forgot to mention one detail which is why I am writing about it again. It has a powerful bedside reading lamp that is directional. I have stayed in a few hotels and many reading lights are absolutely useless.
