The place & staff are lovely, it's right next to a canal & minutes from the sea. Amazing food in the pub downstairs (also a huge beer garden) and also the chinese opposite is lovely! Tea & coffee faciilties & products to use in the shower. This was a perfect location for us visiting Lancaster hospital. I managed to leave my coat behind which was sent back to me immediately, just paid the postage, so many thanks to them!

We had to have the window closed when sleeping as the main road is so busy and then we were way too hot with the thick duvet (in hindsight i should have asked for a sheet) There was a fan in the room which helped a bit thankfully,

The staff were lovely and very helpful. The rooms were okay. I found it difficult to get enough light to read late into the evening - the bedside light could not be moved and the other lights were very low for reading. Your staff were very quick to sort out my partner's shower which was not working properly. Nice meals and nice breakfast.

My partner was not pleased with listening to a dog flinging itself against a wall and barking every time he moved on the first evening. We both had problems with getting a signal for emails even though we were signed into the internet.

The place was lovely and better than expected. The food (evening meal and breakfast) was excellent. Very spacious in side pub. Brilliant out door space, next to the canal. the staff were very good also. Rooms had everything you needed.

Could here extractor at back of pub during the night. The road can be very busy and hard to cross as the carpark is over the road. You can see crossing well from pub to car park, but car park to pub is more difficult, because of lay by of bus stop and bend in road. Need a crossing near by.

Location is great. Good canal walks. Rooms are basic. Beds are comfy. We were in room 1 which overlooks the beer garden and there was no noise to speak of

The main light was not bright enough for me. It was fine with all the blinds open but getting changed the room could benefit from a brighter light. We have been bitten my mosquitoes. Nothing to do with the hotel just a warning for others

We have stayed at the Royal on a couple of occasions. The staff are always very friendly, the food is tasty and well presented. We have stayed in room 7 which is at the front of the property and is nicely appointed. There is easy parking just across the road. They are very dog friendly.

Would prefer a king size bed to a standard double. Cannot see that there are any rooms which offer a king?

Nice pub/hotel for a stopover night on our trip back to Scotland, I mainly booked for location but was pleasantly surprised on the pub and restaurant which were both excellent. Parking was easy across the road and all round I think we’ve found a new venue for our trips down south.

Room was a bit warm and as it right on the main road was noisy enough to wake me at 5.30 am

It's always a great stay - the food is heavenly and the rooms are so comfortable. The only thing I struggle with each time is the wifi keeps dropping off which is frustrating when you need to work. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Thank you so much for having Eddy and I - it's started to feel like home from home!

The wifi is the only thing I can fault. Everything else is perfect :)

The hotel and room was very clean and nicely decorated. Refreshed fairly recently I would guess. The food was excellent and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

I would have preferred breakfast available at an earlier time (starts at 8.30am) but that was mainly as I had an event to get to, so time was tight for me. However staff were helpful in getting me served quickly once ready.

Staff were fabulous! Very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Food was wonderful and served quickly. The bar area and outside area are really lovely. backs onto the canal. Room was good, clean, comfortable, basic, great shower. A few minor repairs needed but didn’t spoil our stay. Good carpark with big spaces across the road - would stay again, although not cheap.
