Bed firm and comfortable. Ensuite is a little small but it really doesn't need to be any bigger and we loved it for our 1 night stay. Everything we needed! And location was excellent for walking into town or to the BIC. We received a very lovely, friendly greeting. Floors were squeaky so I was nervous at first about noise but happy to say that we didn't hear any noise from other rooms so it seems like sound is reasonably well contained. Excellent value for money and highly recommend! We would definitely stay here again.

The only small "issue" is to be aware that the window lets quite a bit of noise through. I think it might have single glazed windows. There was no problem with leaking heat or anything, we were plenty warm, but there was some road noise. This didn't bother us as it was back from the road, just something to be aware of if you are a very light sleeper.

Free off-road parking is a bonus in this area. The hotel looks welcoming from opening the front door. The building has character was traditional features and lovely decor. It's fabulously fresh and looks like it was decorated yesterday, both in the communal parts and my bedroom. The bed was spacious and comfy.

There was a strange smell apparent from the moment I opened my bedroom door, which I could not identify. However, as a consequence I immediately opened a fanlight window wide and left it like that for several hours. The smell was still apparent thereafter but far less so. I belatedly found only a hand towel left in my shower-room ensuite and by the time I realised this it was inappropriate to disturb staff (overnight).

Perfect location 5- 10 mins walk to and from the beach and town centre. Staff were friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy.

Was disappointed that breakfast wasn’t included with the stay (wasn’t made clear while booking) only option was Continental breakfast during the weekdays and weekend they did full English breakfast only and we had to pay separately. The sink in the bathroom was too small which made it hard to wash our wash without wetting the floor the shelf got in the way. The toilet seat wasn’t the right size for the toilet it was small and moved. And the was no fridge.

Strategly placed for Bournemouth Air Festival, the town centre / rail station is 10-15 minutes.walk with a bus option at the end of the street. Because of the rail strike, I drove the hotel had a reasonable amount of parking on a first come, first serve basis. I had Room 11, a single bed with a separate private bathroom /:toilet across the landing. The facilities were kept impeccably clean & tidy, the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was offered costed at £7.50 for Continental, £12.50 for Full English again presented to a high quality. Locally, there is an Italian restaurant and a Turkish kebab shop with seating. I would definitely stay again

This is the second time I've stayed at Applewood with my children. I love it here. The owners are so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is ideally situated for the town, park and seafront, there is free parking and hotel is lovely and clean throughout. We stayed in the family room - second floor this time, which has a good view. The beds are super comfy and the shower is lovely and hot! The front door is always locked, adding extra security. You receive a fob to re-enter. Their breakfast options are also great. You honestly can't beat the hospitality of Applewood and I will definitely return.

The location was perfect, didnt take long to walk into Bournemouth sea front, it was nice being in that area, much quieter. Free parking was great too! The receptionist was lovely. The hotel was really clean and well maintained.

Just some improvements for us, there was no bath mat provided, and only 2 towels, no hand towel or towels for your hair. There was no coffee either, so in the morning when we realised i had to go downstairs to get some from the kitchen staff. A fan was provided, but this just blew warm air around the room, so we found it hard to sleep as it was so warm, and being on the top floor, heat rises. I would definitely recommend air con especially when it is so warm and humid.

The Hotel is in an excellent location and was very clean and well kept. The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. There was ample parking and overall it was a top place to stay. The breakfast was superb and well done and it seemed we could have had unlimited tea, coffee and toast after the our cooked breakfast which was great.

The room we had was very small for the money we paid. This was a shame as otherwise the hotel lived up to my expectations. Room 116 was very cramped and the bathroom was tiny and it did feel a bit claustrophobic. It did not feel like a £190 a night double room. More like a large single so over priced in that regard.

Fab hotel for the money, nice recommendation of restaurant pinnochios given at the top of the road. Cosy room with a bath & tea & coffee etc met our needs & clean. Staff good about storing your ice blocks for next day if needed as no fridge are friendly too. It was a bit of a walk down to the centre of Bournemouth tho, taxi back cost under a fiver so not bad. Overall our room only stay a pleasant experience for the money so would recommend as was ideal to stay here to explore Poole & the other areas we went to.

Bar closes 9pm shame if you want last drinks & to sit out in their lovely quiet garden area on a Sunny evening after a meal out as no restaurant here.

Second time I've stayed here this year. Rooms are small but immaculate (everything looks newly decorated), well serviced and beautifully equipped. No lift, but good exercise! Staff are extremely pleasant and the whole place has a really good atmosphere.

The car park was pretty full when I arrived at 6.00 pm and I don't think there are quite enough spaces for everyone - arrive earlier if possible! And the nearby shopping/restaurant area by the library was quite scarey on Saturday evening - rolling drunks and fighting by 8 pm - suggest avoiding it - but seemed to have settled down by Sunday. Not Applewood's fault - the area is otherwise fine, and you can easily walk along the overcliff into downtown Bournemouth for other dining options.

We were attending a concert at the BIC which was a 15 minute walk from the hotel where there was also a variety of restaurants. On site parking was included which was good. We would recommend the Goat and Tricycle pub just around the corner from the hotel for both food and drink.

Whilst the room and bathroom were clean and the walls looked like they had been freshly painted, the paintwork (doors and skirting boards) looked like it they had been overlooked. Whilst the bed was very comfortable and large due to two singles being joined together the base was a bit tatty. Just small issues that didn't affect our stay but just let the property down a bit overall.
