We had a large bedroom for a couple, included double bed and 2 bunk beds. Lots of space, included sofa, hot drink facilities. Comfortable double bed. Slept well. Very clean bathroom and bedroom. Nice white towels. Very quiet for a town location. Easy safe parking right behind the room. Beautiful views over the Moors. Very pleasantly surprised.

Shutter style window slightly broken in bedroom so wouldn't stay up, quite a hot day/night. But we found something to prop it up with. Plus a fan had been provided which was very much appreciated in heatwave weather.

Lovely village and friendly local pub with helpful staff. A great central location and convenient short drive for my meeting the following day. The rooms were economically priced and comfortable with on-site parking.

The room was comfortable but some decor was looking a little tired ( frayed blinds and some tears in the net curtains). One of the bed frames was slightly damaged and I was unable to access the WiFi successfully during my stay.

Really comfortable bed, good sized room, good functional en-suite room with shower. Thoroughly enjoyed the falafal burger and chips. Generous portion, sadly couldn't finish it, value for money. Lovely atmosphere in bar area. Accessible car park.

External influence, Nothing to do with the accommodation but my second night was carnival night and the road was closed between 5-8pm so I couldn't get back until later. Missed out on my planned scampi and chips option from the bar menu. Minor personal inconvenience.

We stayed over the long weekend as we had a stand at the Bovey Tracey Craft Festival, it was a super convenient location to the event. The bed was clean and comfortable, just a little too small for my husband and I, we are used to a queen size.

The room we stayed in was open and spacious and a good base for work, I just wish it had wifi and a fridge- as then it would help us over the week to keep food for the festival and work whilst there. The shower had a tendency to change temperatures at bit too.

Really enjoyed my say of 4 nights. Couldn't fault the pub apart from not been able to get full wi despite having a full signal in the room. This is important in this day and age. Very friendly lady behind the bar(wish I could remember her name!) Couldn't have been more nicer !! Room was lovely clean and warm too with tea and coffee facilities.Shame there was no breakfast but plenty places to eat anyway. I'll definitely be back again Hope they can improve the WiFi!! I'd highly recommended the Cromwell Arms!!

The staff were fantastic, the family room was perfect for all of us and we could park right outside. The food was good and the whole place had a lovely atmosphere. I would highly recommend the Cromwell Arms if you are visiting Devon and you are right on the edge of Dartmoor. We look forward to visiting again.

When we booked our stay we had breakfast included however there was no breakfast chef at the time of our visit. Please don't look at this as a negative as all companies go through staffing and recruitment issues from time to time. We received a cash refund on arrival for this inconvenience and the management advised us of this in advance.

We enjoyed our stay. 3 nights in total in 2 different rooms. The small twin provided the better night's sleep. Great location, friendly staff, comfortable bed, nice hot shower, pub food was good too

I would have liked to know in advance that the room would not be serviced daily. Although there was a notice saying fresh towels could be requested, and tea/coffee. I think that only 1 bath towel per person is not sufficient for a two night stay. Neither is 1 paper bath mat. Nor 6 uht milk cartons. As no breakfast is available at least a packet of biscuits would be nice. The bathroom floor was dusty around the edges also skirting. I appreciate that it is a big, old building to clean, but the sofa needs to be moved occasionally to avoid a build up of dust round the legs. The worst for us was the fan on the back of the building which kept us awake

The room was clean and comfortable. We didn’t eat there, so can’t comment on food.

We found £15 per dog, per night extremely over the top. Many hotels take pets free of charge. But the most we have ever paid is £10 per dog for duration of stay. The room keys are attached to a huge piece of wood. Ok if you’re just down in the bar. But ridiculous when you want to leave the premises. We also were not advised that the room key was also the external doors key. Hence we got Locked out early in the morning. The phone number for emergencies initially went to voice mail. After shouting up to open windows, another guest kindly let us in.

Very comfortable room, reasonably spacious and well furnished. Great inn and location in the town, would recommend this as your first choice in Bovey Tracey.

Some of the bathroom fittings were a bit dated and a little loose. Nothing Major though. For those who don't like too much noise, some of the rooms above the bar may be slightly noisy until close at 11pm. However, I didn't mind it because you're staying in an Inn after all!

Very friendly staff..exceptionally clean ..a little bit dated furniture but we are just out of a pandemic. Steep stairs to top bedrooms so may be difficult for some people. Kings size room exceptionally big.with good black out blinds. Double room curtains let in a bit of light so a matter of taste.Would stay again.

Stairs a bit narrow ( but the very friendly staff did bring my bags up ) The double room curtains let in too much light for my taste but zi do like a dark room .the Kings size room number 9 was under thr roof very dark and quiet fir sleep.
