Lovely old pub! Surprised at how lovely the room was for the price we paid. Would love to have eaten here, but we were meeting friends at Riverford Organic Cafe(very close by) for a birthday celebration. A big thank you to Matt who checked us in, He tried to get us a taxi to the restaurant, but they are pretty scarce, so we drove there and he kindly offered to take us back the next morning to collect our car if we were able to get a lift back!

Noisy at night. We could hear the bathroom light switch and tap going on in the room next door. All the floorboards and doors are so squeaky, you could hear people walking along the corridor. It is a very old building, and this hasn’t put us off, we would definitely stay here again, but we’ll ask for a room at the far end of the corridor!

We liked the location, lovely and quiet. The room was big with a Juliet balcony and French doors. After a warm day, it was nice to have them open all night. The food was lovely, as was the cider. Nice beer garden, plenty of tables, pleasant music playing, and nicely lit when it starts to get dark, giving a nice ambience. Breakfast was included and was really nice. Have whatever you like. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were great. Very lovely place to stay, and we can't wait to go back! Thank you, sea trout inn. You have a great place.

Not much, we had a very positive experience.

The staff went above and beyond. We stayed here as we were going on the polar express. It was amazing for the value of money we paid. Food is stunning for both dinner and breakfast. The family room is a double bed and two singles plenty of space, even the twin room was spacious. We will definitely return hopefully not in such a cold time. However where everything was frozen the staff were in after a walk and abandoning their cars, they gritted the pathways and car park. Nothing was too much trouble. The only thing I'd say is perhaps advise the shower may set off the fire alarm 🙈

It was very dark when we were arriving so going through the back lanes was a little daunting. However in the day time there was no issues.

Location was lovely. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food very tasty. The room and bathroom were simple but comfortable and a very good price - we got the last room available for the dates we needed. This is a very well run little gem.

We stayed during the recent mini heatwave and a little room fan would have helped. They may have had one available but I didn't go to ask as was middle of night - I should have thought to ask before going to bed.

The Sea Trout is in a beautiful location near the River Dart which can be accessed quite easily. This is a dog friendly accommodation and the staff are very welcoming and friendly - nothing is too much of a bother. The inside has a lovely charm about it and the bedrooms are nicely furnished and comfortable. The food is excellent and very well presented. The garden is a real pleasure to sit and relax with a glass of your favourite drink. Everything you require is on the doorstep within easy reach. This is a little treasure hidden away where after a full day out you can chill.

There is nothing we could fault about our stay at this lovely accommodation.

Clean and comfortable. The village is very quiet with a lovely walk along the river. Really appreciated being able to eat at the venue so we didn’t have to drive into Totnes or further afield

Being really picky.... would be lovely if coffee bags were available in the room, rather than sachets of instant coffee BUT I know you will never please everyone and had travelled with my own supply of fresh coffee and herbal tea just in case.

Great place to stay just outside Totnes. Staverton is in beautiful countryside with amazing walks down to the river Dart and into the Dartington Estate. room was good with a fab bathroom with a freestanding bath. The bar area and restaurant were spacious and cozy and all of the food we had was excellent. Best of all we’re the staff, particularly Charlotte and Victoria, who provided the very best service making us and our dog Lola very welcome. A great place.

The Sea Trout Inn was comfortable and charming. It had, perhaps, the best Full English I can remember having in recent memory, and the staff were kind and very friendly. The rooms were perfectly suited to our needs, and the shower comes with superb water pressure.

The location is somewhat isolated, which is not normally a problem. We had a car and all was well, but for those coming by train you may find it difficult to get around once you arrive.
