The room was adequet to my needs, bed was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was served at 0830, ideal for the start of the Severn Valley Railway Spring Diesel Festival. Convienient location for the town and the Severn Valley Railway located across the road from the hotel.

No handtowels were suplied on my visit despite requesting one. The shower wasn't user friendly, though the WiFi has now improved considerably since my last visit. I will give the new owners the benefit of the doubt as I understand that they still have a lot of work to do since they took over the running of the business a few months ago. I hope that the feedback from past guests will help them make the neccessary improvements. A makeover of some of the rooms might help.

We travelled as a group of friends for the Easter weekend by motorbikes , there was safe off road parking for 6 bikes in a covered area by the beer garden . The staff are very friendly and most efficient especially at breakfast , which is tasty and plentiful . The rooms are clean and comfortable although the matress in our room needed updating and our friends in the next room to us , the Mallard , agreed although the others said the beds were comfortable . Not really complaining , just constructive advice A band was on Sat night and the pub had a great atmosphere. This is our 2nd stay at the George in recent years and we would definitely stay again if in the area

Nothing (There is quite a hill to walk up into town so not good for anyone with a disability)

Breakfast was excellent, bed was nice and comfortable, the shower was adequate, could be a bit more user friendly. Location was convenient with the Severn Valley Railway just across the road and the town with all the amenities was close by. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Parking at the Severn Valley Railway car park is now £4 a day when it used to be free for guests. I appreciate that this is outside the hotel proprietors control. I have raised this issue with the Severn Valley Railway to see if rail users who brought rover tickets could be entitled to free parking, this would make it more stress free for guests who have to watch their time to make sure they didn't go over their parking time and end up with a penalty notice. Also it's very difficult to pick up the Wifi signal from the rooms.

Pub with rooms. I was in a single, which was a decent size with a good en suite bathroom. Smooth check-in, friendly staff, very good breakfast. Only a couple of minutes walk from Bridgnorth SVR, and close to the town. Amazing value for money, expecially as I stayed during a railway gala event. There is live music at weekends, so you have to accept there will be some noise... as it happened it was right in my zone so added to the experience!

Noise from live music might not be for everyone

Never been to Bridgnorth before but will definitely return. The George pub is exactly what you would expect,a good old fashioned quirky pub with different rooms and lovely outside sitting areas with super lighting in the evening. On arrival I was met by the landlord who was friendly and welcoming and taken up to our room by him.We were able to book a table for an evening meal and placed just where we wanted to be for the live band playing that evening( brilliant band)A comfy sleep in a very clean fresh bed was had by both of us even though we thought we would be disturbed by the busy road.A lovely hot shower, wash products in the ensuite and good size white towels. Parking just outside but with a reasonable price for 24 hrs (£4)

The shower could do with a facelift. It was clean and hot but needed fresh grout and a spruce up.There were some big cobwebs up on the ceiling but this didn't bother me so long as it was all clean which it was

This is a public house that serves food and beverage the couple (Marcus and Sue) give a pleasant warm welcome and quickly see you in on arrival. The George is located on the side of the hill just below the high-town near a railway tourist's attraction . The room was clean and tidy and the bed comfortable with a view of the stationary steam train type carriages. Steep walk up cannon steps and your in the high town beautiful area. Free to come a go as you please en suite soaps biscuits and drinks in the room and a delicious breakfast included all good value for money. Car parking across the road £4 for 24hrs.

Hard to say really all boxes ticked good.

The full English breakfast was great. The location across the road from the Severn Valley Railway was ideal. The staff, Helen, Ami and Jill were great.

The only surprise was that there was no kitchen service for dinner on live music night. The music was loud enough that we decided to leave our room as sleep was unlikely. That said we had a great time with the pub goers and the band stopped at 11pm sharp allowing us to still get a good nights sleep.

Surpassed all expectations. Room comfortable, clean and very well equipped. Location directly opposite Severn Valley Railway terminus at Bridgnorth. Each room is named after a famous locomotive! Arrived just after 20:00, but restaurant still happy to serve us. Three course meal for two including three drinks came to £48 (I gave a little extra!).

The only minor gripe would be the very weak wifi signal in the bedrooms. I would recommend the hosts to install a wifi signal booster upstairs - it shouldn't cost much to do. Wifi worked fine in the restaurant space.

We were given a very warm welcome by Sue and Marcus. The rooms were clean and the bed was firm (not hard!) which is how I like it. Plenty of pillows and more bedding available if required. En suite clean to a high standard with clean towels and fresh shower gel, shampoo, etc. The breakfast, included in the price of the room, was just how I like it (I had the full English), others in our group enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast and particularly the poached egg on toast! These are served to the table, but there is also a buffet of fruit juice, grapefruit, prunes, cereals etc. We used the restuarant on both nights of our stay, and the food was again to a high standard and reasonably priced with vegetarian and gluten free options available. There was a live band on the Saturday night which we all thoroughly enjoyed, this finished at 11.00 but the bar remained open to the public as well as visitors, without much encouragement Marcus entertained everyone playing the piano, which has to be seen as well as heard, you'll have to visit yourself to see what I mean! The bar was still open when we retired, but was not a disturbance even though our room was above the bar! All in all I cannot recommend The George more highly, we had a brilliant weekend and our stay at the George was the icing on the cake, we're already talking about a return stay!

Nothing, I liked all of it!

great location right near to the Severn Valley Railway. excellent freshly cooked full English breakfast included in the price. Exceptional value evening meals available until 9.00 pm. Three courses for £11 and beautifully cooked. very friendly and down to earth staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Nothing was a problem.

The only downside was we had a dodgy shower head in the shower.
