The Fox

What a find, we had a fabulous stay at The Fox with our dog Barney. The Fox is the most dog friendly place that we have stayed at. Liz and Olivia were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent, with a full cooked breakfast on offer every day along with cereal, yoghurt and fresh fruit. Barney was even offered a sausage for breakfast everyday, which he loved. The breakfast was well cooked with good quality ingredients, we especially loved the thick bacon and black pudding. We also ate in the pub one evening, again the food and service were excellent. Our room was spacious, modern and well equipped with everything we could need including iron and ironing board. Shower was very good, powerful and hot. Wi-Fi is also provided in the room. Much Wenlock is a lovely little town, with plenty of walks locally. Wenlock Priory is lovely to visit and is only a 5 minute walk away. The locals that we met were all very friendly. Great pies and cakes from Pig & Pie in town. If you fancy travelling further afield there are plenty of places to visit, we would highly recommend Shrewsbury Prison Tour. We would highly recommend a stay at The Fox and we look forward to staying there again soon.

good location with free parking at rear, good WiFi, dog friendly with no hidden extra charges for a dog. friendly staff and a lovely breakfast, good clean room. great value beer . Lovely Olde English Town

room 5 shower was faulty with no hot water

Even before we arrived, the staff at the Fox were extremely helpful. When we did eventually arrive they couldn't be more helpful. Our room was incredible spacious, quiet, the bed super comfy. Wifi excellent! (Important when there is very little reception in the area). We had a meal when we arrives which was fantastic and exceptional value for money. The staff were just brilliant. They could not do enough for us. Breakfast was also excellent, wide choice of cereal and cooked breakfast items. Lots of vegetarian & vegan options too. We were staying at The Fox, as we were attending a wedding in a neighbouring village, it's worth noting that there are No cabs firms that are willing to cover Much Wenlock..... we were having trouble finding anyone to take us / pick us up but again, the staff were so caring and helpful. They spent a lot of time trying to help us, and gave us all possible options, called people to help. We eventually secured a cab, thanks to the wonderful staff at the pub.

Nothing, we really had a wonderful stay. If I had to find something, breakfast was early, after the wedding we struggled to make the 9am deadline but understand the reasons why breakfast wasn't offered later. So this is not really a complaint at all, just a nod towards our tardiness!

The bedroom was a generous size, the bed was large, comfortable and beautifully clean The breakfast was excellent. Choices offered were great, and any extras could be ordered. The portion size for the starters in the evening was VERY generous; we had to ask for extra toast to eat with the pate. The dog was made very welcome by all the staff and reats offered.

Had we been staying longeer, we cud have done with more space to store clothes, but we always have too much - the weather uncertainty means we have to have options,

we were very happy with the Fox, The room was very comfortable and clean, in such an old building you don't expect everything to be perfect, that is what we love it was nice and quirky, from the uneven floor and the shower that had a mind of its own. If we wanted a soulless hotel room we would not have chosen an old pub for our stay. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome and the pub serves great ales and the food was excellent.

The bar is a bit cramped of an evening when it is busy, and being a great cosy pub it does get busy. The shower water presure is a bit weak, I am guessing retrofitting a very old building with ensuite facilities can be a bit of a challenge. We managed.

Thank you to all at The Fox - Much Wenlock. We’ve had a fabulous weekend with friends and family staying at The Fox. The rooms were of a great standard and the beds were so comfortable and bed linen was so crisp and fresh! Didn’t want to get up 😍, great nights sleep both nights. The rooms are tastefully decorated and bright and spacious, The breakfast provided had so much choice, cereals, yoghurt, fruit and full breakfast was available or any of these tailored to your own selection. The staff were all so welcoming and accommodating to all our requests. They made us feel comfortable as a larger group we enjoyed lots of laughs and the wide selection and prices of drinks were very good. Olivia was attentive and made sure we were all ok and had plenty of teas, coffees and biscuits for our rooms. The free buffet on New Year’s Eve was really a rather superb Cheeseboard with a variety of crackers and fruit and was very welcomed by us all. They even brought out carved ham for those of us who do not eat cheese. The breakfast was Amazing, i have stayed in quite a few hotels some even 5* and have never experienced a breakfast as Good as this. I think the offer of Fresh Fruit & Yogurt to start made it for me. I have been in hotels where they offer Fresh Fruit But this was like it had just been picked that morning. The Cooked breakfast was also perfection. Excellent well done. Wish we had the chance to eat in the Restaurant judging by the standard of their Breakfast. The room was clean and spacious. The staff were Very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

What a perfect little place!! I already love Foxes so this was already a huge hit! the pub is glorious with the drinking area on one side and the food on the other! The noise level doesn't really reach the food area. All of the staff are super helpful and accommodating. Our room itself was actually next to the pub slightly downstairs, which meant we had no noise from the pub! It was spotless and smelt so fresh. I'm sure there were new carpets too which felt so soft and luxurious! When we worked out that we wanted to have some dinner, the staff were so helpful and made sure we had a spot. Food was LUSH!! The Brie is gorgeous! We are already looking to come back again in the summer (for the next comicon) Breakfast was also awesome! Mixture of cereals, juice, fruits, cooked breakfast. So much choice and so nice! We wish we stayed longer!

I travel the country for my company providing training courses for our clients I really enjoyed my stay at the Fox, Liz and Laura and the team were amazing!!! warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The food was terrific I ordered the Mega Burger and chips 2 nights in a row it was so good. On my 2nd night i forgot to ask for Mayo with my meal but a member of the team remembered my order from the previous night and added the mayo for me, also I opted for the full English breakfast which was plentiful, well prepared and delicious. i would definitely stay again if had business in the area and would wholeheartedly recommend the Fox to anyone.

I honestly am struggling to think of a way to improve as the service was second to none, if I had to be picky there is limited car parking spaces. but I was fortunate enough to grab the last space each night I was there.

This is a old building so it as character and therefore creaky floorboards. The staff did everything to make the stay comfortable including starting breakfast early for me. The food was fantastic and well priced. The pub side of the business was friendly and welcoming from staff and locals. It is a dog friendly pub, personally I'm not bothered either way but for those that are afraid or don't like dogs there will always be a few about.

Due to being a old building the shower wasn't the best it did the job though.
