Easy to find and well placed for my meeting the following day in Hereford which was a 20 minute pleasant drive away. Access to car park a bit tight! but plenty of room in the actual area. Room 4 was comfortable and had plenty of space for me, a couple may need a bigger room. Food in restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. Kate, who checked me in and served me at the bar was excellent, very efficient and friendly. Breakfast we also very good, plentiful and tasty. Price was good value for the area and season. Overall a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend this hotel.

I accidentally booked a single for me, hubby and dog! Staff were so kind and helpful and sorted it all out for me. Very little extra charge. We loved Emma, she booked us in, took us to our room, booked us a table in the bar for dinner, served us at dinner and served us breakfast in the morning. Her simile was constant. A total gem of an employee I would say. Everyone else was lovely too. Breakfast was great. Bit too much for me to be honest but very good.

I liked everything.

Lovely quaint hotel. Because of the age nothing was level, floors etc. but this added to the charm of the property. The food was excellent and a change from same old boring menus at other establishments, and very reasonably priced. Home made ice cream and other desserts to die for! Nothing too much trouble. Stayed here to be local for a wedding but a bit out of the way to return to.

Nothing about the hotel but the town very boring and old fashioned.

Dinner was a treat, a wide choice of mains and light bites including, beef ribs, lamb shank and venison. Also vegetarian options, pasta, pies. Ice creams including chocolate and brandy, cinnamon bread and butter pudding, dark chocolate and ginger amongst others. Traditional decor, bedroom was warm with a cast iron bed (so comfortable) large bathroom, shower caps, shoe shine, personal care set, soap and multiple teas, both normal tea and fruit, and coffee in the room. Breakfast wide choice cereal, fruit and hot choices including full English, porridge and kippers. Friendly and helpful staff, nothing was to much trouble. Would definitely book again

No complaints.

Excellent breakfasts, friendly staff, good car parking. Comfortable bedroom, if a little small. But this is an historic old building with all rooms different. The history itself is very interesting to discover.

Menu for evening meal a little restricted, especially no “ starters” listed. But the staff accommodated our demands patiently and well by accepting modifications to the so-called “ Snack Menu”. The food itself was good.

Food was amazing. Room was spotlessly clean. Building had so much character and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Absolutely loved this hotel

Only hitch was having a room beside the road even with the windows closed I couldn’t sleep from about 6am onwards once the traffic started up so after a night out and with a long drive the next day I needed more sleep. But I expect not all rooms would have that issue.

The cleanliness of the linens, room & bathroom were exceptional. The breakfast was excellent, cooked to perfection & arrived very promptly.

The old beer 'pub smell' when I walked in, gave a bad impression that the hotel would be dirty (but it wasn't). The strong smell from the kitchen of fish cooking as I checked in. A female guest slouched on the sofa in reception with their feet on the coffee table talking to the owner when I returned in the evening.

The choice and standard of food on offer both at breakfast and dinner was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the character of the property and although some areas were a little outdated, the room and public areas were very clean. We really enjoyed the live folk music evening held in the venue at the back of the hotel which was free of charge.

On booking, I was unaware of how very low the ceiling was in the room we were allocated. We were told that the ceiling height is 6'4" but my husband is 6'2" and was unable to stand upright in one area of the bedroom. This was also a problem in the bathroom when showering. In fact at 5'2", I also found it difficult to stand in the bath and shower comfortably. This is not a complaint, simply an observation that others may wish to be made aware of.

Staff at The Falcon were wonderfully friendly but not intrusive. The breakfast was delicious and there was lots of choice. The sloping floors and abundance of cats were hugely entertaining and the building was full of character. The narrow entrance to the car park gave us pause but there was adequate parking.
