We didn’t have the breakfast as it was extra and we bought breakfast in Cambridge each day. Pub was in an excellent location for access to Cambridge on park and ride. We ate supper in the cosy bars at the front of the property two of our three nights stay and the food and ambiance were extremely good. Staff are very obliging and pleasant. Our room was fine - our only slight misgiving was the lack of a window you could actually look out of. Our room had a small velux as did the bathroom- for three nights it wasn’t really a problem but felt a tad claustrophobic. Some of the rooms have larger windows and it wouldn’t stop us using the pub again as we were generally very happy with it.

Just a window you could see out if .

From the moment we arrived we could tell it felt warm and inviting. Once checked in we had help with our bags to the room and everything was explained air con etc. The room was clean comfy and had all required for our 1 night stay. The pub is very cosy and the staff can’t do enough for you as a guest. As a staying guest they went over and above looking after us which was a really nice feeling. The food is exceptional from starters to puddings and looking around at other peoples food being brought out it all looked and smelt delicious. Breakfast in the morning was also delicious with local produce on the full English and a nice selection of continental breakfast. The croissants and pain au chocolat were so fresh and flaky and delicious. So overall I would certainly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a cosy place to stay with great service and delicious food just on outskirts of Cambridge. We will definitely go back for a visit or try the Sunday lunch which I’m sure would be amazing. Regards Mark

The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The venue was set in pleasent grounds, excellent carparking friendly helpful staff, and a great choice in coffee pods in your room for all tastes. WIFI had good reception, and our stay was short only one night, but we would happily recommend this establishment to all our friends and family. We would have loved to stay longer because it was such a peaceful pretty pub in a quiet village. The food was very good, including breakfast, which was fresh and served pipping hot.

We can not find anything to criticise this outstanding place to stay and eat, and the location is great for Cambridge and many other places of interest, including Anglesey Abbey, which is just two miles away.

We didn't want to pay Cambridge city centre prices and this proved to be a very good option for our short visit. The Milton P&R is fairly close so the city is easily accessible. There is plenty of parking at the pub. Our room was clean and comfortable and we had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. Some interesting dishes on the menu as well as pub classics, high quality ingredients and a great wine list. They also let us eat our own picnic in the bar the following evening when the kitchen was closed!

We had a bit of a quibble over the bill as we had been charged more than the price quoted by booking.com, but this was settled without demur

Friendly, responsive and helpful staff, very comfortable room, quiet and peaceful location, good quality dining on site, choice of dining spaces (cosy comfortable well-furnished pub, more modern room with many windows overlooking greenery, and outdoor leafy terrace), excellent breakfasts, easy and plentiful on-site parking.

You cannot access river or countryside from here unless you first walk or cycle (or drive) some distance by road. But once you get to an access point, there's some lovely riverside walking, and can cycle into Cambridge (didnt try). Pleasant outdoor dining terrace overlooks grassy church cemetery which may not bother some, and could be fixed with a hedge, of the right height to maintain a leafy outlook.

We decided to just have a night away and chose this place as its not too far a drive from us. So glad we opted for this place, the building is beautiful, the food is fabulous and the staff were amazing! We felt very well cared and catered for here. Loved the fact we didn't feel so rushed whilst eating either. We have noticed in other places, when we go for meals, that we feel constantly rushed so they can turn tables quickly but not here they got the balance just right. All the staff were lovely and friendly. Great stay and will definitely return.

This is a beautiful pub and the rooms are well appointed and lovely.. The staff in the bar are so helpful and friendly and can't do enough for you.. I was a bit poorly and immediately was offered soup, at any time, to be brought to our room! Thank you for your lovely hospitality, kindness and welcome.. x

I'm not particularly comfortable saying this because this pub and all within are truly lovely but if we don't speak the truth what's the point! The lady who cleans the rooms was passing me on the stairs as I was returning to our room and commented that she had seen our iPads on the bed and that the lights were on in the room!! This made me feel pretty uncomfortable to be fair and I think this lady needs to be reminded of the importance of privacy.

Location very pretty and quiet. The room was spacious and well decorated and the air conditioning very welcome on such a hot weekend. The bed was v comfortable too.

A few minor changes would improve the overall experience. The pillows were all rock hard and very uncomfortable. The tea and coffee in the room were sub-standard with one choice of tea or coffee. One of the cups was covered in bright pink lipstick stains, so clearly not washed properly and the milk in the communal fridge on the landing was ‘ off’! I would’ve raised these points at checkout but no one asked how our stay was, or whether everything was ok.

- lovely hotel with very friendly owner - the room was clean and cosy with a comfortable bed - the breakfast was good and the staff were nice and helpful - good location in a quiet area not far from Cambridge - parking available beside the property - i enjoyed reading about the property's history and how each room had a theme

- nothing we didn't like, the only thing missing to make it a 10 is to become pet friendly :)

Loved the authentic, original pub. Great staff and good meals. The rooms in the new wing are as to be expected; clean, fresh and well appointed with everything you need. Breakfast was good, full English cooked to order with fruit and yoghurt self serve. Again, great staff. The waitress was delightful. Everyone was chatty and happy to help. Dinner in the pub was yummy and we spent a few hours eating and drinking with old friends.
