Oyster Fleet Hotel

Oyster fleet hotel is a fantastic hotel, with brilliant staff who are helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and they supply the basic necessities (towels, shampoo, shower gel, hand wash, toilet paper) there is also tea and coffee and a kettle. The location is perfect, easy walking access to the town centre and sea front if energetic or short drive. The pub serves delish food with a great variety and there is a take away option. Prices are reasonable and well worth the quality that is provided. Plenty of parking available.

A suggestion not a dislike - a small fridge in the rooms as we like cold coffees and kids like milkshakes but no option to keep them cold.

I have stayed here many times over the years , when visiting friends . The staff are very friendly and hospitable and always make you feel welcome. The rooms are quite basic but comfortable enough . Although we didn't have breakfast on this occasion , it has always been really good when we have had it in the past . I'm sure we will be booking a room again in the next couple of months when we visit our friends again .

We had been out for the evening and came back around 1am . Unfortunately our room which was outside of the main building ( number 29) was extremely cold . The heating had gone off and as there was no thermostat, that meant we could not put the heating on. It was very hard to get to sleep as we were both so cold . The heating came on again in the morning and it was lovely and warm again . It would be nice if we could come back to a warm room on our next visit.

Friendly receprion on arrival. Location was good, Value for money for the budget room.. We would stay again

Breakfast and service AWFUL Was directed to conservatory by the receptionist and waited 15 minutes before I went back to reception to ask if anyone was serving. No choice for breakfast, just a full English, no cereals @ £12 each expensive Tea already made and in a thermos, stewed like it had been there hours. Cheapest value ingredients, bread only one thin slice..but the worst was it all tasted like the oil in the fryer was old..mushrooms inedible. After serving waiter disappeared again so couldn't ask for any water or extra juice. Wished we had gone to the cafe down the road at half the cost!

Had a family room which was excellent. Really large room which was spotless and nicely decorated. Bathroom was great too with a very good shower - again very clean! Hallway to the room was also very clean and smelled nice. We were there for a wedding and all staff seemed very friendly especially the nice lady who checked us in. Full English breakfast was also delicious in the morning! (Although fresh milk for tea and coffee at breakfast would be much nicer rather than the horrible long life pots) plenty of parking on site even with a wedding going on. Would happily stay again and reccomend to others!

The only fault was the really hard firm mattress but in saying that I did have a good sleep regardless. Also alarm went off about 5am not sure if it was from hotel or neighbouring property as was still half asleep still but the alarm was quickly turned off.

Location very handy for where I needed to be for work. The room was very comfortable, warm, clean and fresh. Staff very welcoming, pleasant and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent, especially after a long journey.

The decor was a little dated (but that is not really a problem for me as it appeared well maintained). The only thing that wasn't great was the location of the TV, its was on a low shelf that was difficult to see from the bed as it was a small screen, so I had to move it up onto the higher table by the kettle to see it.

We loved the location and the terrace by the lake. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The rooms were large ,clean and comfortable but a little tired. We walked into the shopping area 2 mins walk and had an excellent breakfast at the Island Cafe which was open from 8am and was better value than the hotel's breakfast and they had a large selection. Thorpe Bay was 10mins walk away from the hotel. Hadleigh Castle was a 13 mins drive away and there is a lovely walk from there to Leigh on Sea and back. We also visited the Wat Tyler Country Park and spend a very interesting morning there. We loved our stay and would go again.

The rooms were a little tired and could do with updating but they were clean and comfortable with plenty of room.

Nice Location, very clean rooms. Nice bar and restaurant with really nice outside eating area over looking the lake. Staff where friendly, I was on the 2nd floor over looking the lake which was a really nice view and it was nice in evening whilst going to sleep to listen to the bird chirping and was very peaceful. Decent Shower as well. good temp and pressure.

Rooms are a little dated, worlds smallest tv in room and no USB sockets for phone charging etc. No main light switch near bed only 1 switch all the way down by the door which is quite unusual these days.

The hotel was absolutely lovely. The rooms were huge and very clean. The restaurant served great food and you could have a table outside overlooking the lake. Breakfast was delicious and the staff are so kind and helpful. Its a short walk to some local shops, a small theme park and the beach. We had a great stay and highly recommend this hotel.

Nothing. It was all amazing.

The room was lovely and big and the bed very comfortable. Plenty of hanging space in the wardrobes and a lovely big bathroom. We only had the continental breakfast as we had to leave the hotel early but it was very good.

The main light in the room wasn't really powerful enough and there was no lamp on the desk so that area was again quite dark. There was a small hole in the coffee table that perhaps should have been repaired before our visit but it didn't cause us any problems.

We were impressed with the Staff's friendliness and helpfulness - it goes a long way and the room was immaculate. Thankyou for a great trip. Thumbs up from us. We'd come again.

The canopies were old and shabby looking although they did the job it might be time to change them to make the hotel appear more attractive. Also, when somebody was running water in the room next door it sounded like it was in our bathroom because the pipes run under the vanity cupboard; perhaps cladding them somehow could make it quieter? We did get used to it though!
