Campanile Hotel - Basildon - East of London0

Looks like a residence more than an hotel, so gives you that feel and independence of a micro-apt. Double door which is good. Probably in the middle of nowhere, so consider if you have a car before booking (I went there for working reason, so this didn't impacted me). Breakfast includes lot of options & vegetal milks, which is not that common in UK. Special mention for the super nice cook.

Electricity sockets are under the desk, so there is no mean to have them close to the bed and use your phone/laptop from there. They ask you for a 100 punds deposit for the stay. It gets totally refunded, but keep this in mind since I didn't see mention of that before the booking.

The whole experience from booking in to checking out, so nice to be recognised at reception by Tracey the manager following another stay here just before Christmas... Another nice touch was entering a lovely nice warm welcoming room as the weather was very bitter outside and through tiredness travelling from Manchester...bedding,bathroom and the room were scrupulously clean as always...

Not a big fan of soap and body wash from pump dispensers although I always have my toiletries packed in my bag,

We didn't expect much from the hotel as the room was not expensive and not in the best of locations, however, it was far better than expected. Despite being near busy roads the traffic noise it was nowhere near as bad as we thought it would be. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was perfectly adequate and plentiful (we had the continental). Tea, coffee and milk are supplied in the room. The shower was good and there's shampoo and soap if you need it. The bed was very comfortable and there were extra pillows if you needed them and it actually turned out quite useful to have a retail site opposite!

I hate the colour grey in the rooms along with the black balconies, but that's personal choice! The hotel on the whole does look a bit tired but it certainly did the job! It was very hot in the room and the window didn't open very far.

The beds were so comfy that we slept through breakfast! After hearing locals say that the hotel was rough etc I didn't expect much but how wrong they were! You can tell that they have never even stayed here. When we could see the A127 from out room door (motel style rooms) I thought great, loads of noise and no sleep. WRONG! Didn't hear a sound! I'll definitely be looking to stay here again the next time we're down.

Friendly staff, parking facilities, pet friendly accommodation. We knew this was only a 2 star hotel, and we accepted we could not expect 5 star facilities. But we did not find problems as described on some other reviews. It went smoothly and the room was suitable for our needs. The shower was nice and warm and water pressure was superb. It was the first time we travelled with our Staffie, and he enjoyed the weekend break as much as we did. The room and bed was clean, towels were clean. I was grateful for the extra pillows in the wardrobe, as I usually sleep with 2 pillows. Thank you :-)

Very clean accommodation, everything we needed, very friendly & helpful staff & excellent cooked breakfast, which was cooked to order with a good choice of continental items too. Rooms had everything we needed, great shower & TV. Bed comfy & good choice of pillows. Would definitely use Campanile again and would absolutely recommend to others.

The noise levels from the road next to the accommodation and the noise levels from other guests in the early hours of the morning 😟 Unfortunately not much can be done about either of these. Only complaint about the rooms were that they were too hot, even without heating and because of the noise we couldn't have the window open. The cost of the items in reception was rather steep too.

Staff were friendly and helpful, bedding and bathroom clean and towels supplied. Shampoo/shower gel, soap in room for use, but walls had chips on paintwork. Tv in room and bar area. Kettle in room.Breakfast was very good, full English breakfast excellent, along with choice of coffees/teas juices cereals croissants and muffins. Motel is close to main A13 and just off A127. Main bar area could do with a little renovation. However settees we’re comfy. We will stay there again overnight when in the area. This motel is dog friendly which was also essential for us. Good value for price.

Everything was Amazing, Travelled as a single female And made so comfortable and welcome by every single member of staff. The rooms were perfect, not the ritz but for the price exceptional! everything was very clean, maybe there were elements a bit old or worn but you really can’t complain when you’re paying such low prices. right next to a shopping park, Asda 2 minutes away. was going to explore London but had so much fun I stayed in Basildon

The continental breakfast was more than sufficient with the selection on offer. The croissants were a little firm. I was too early for the cooked breakfast.

My room, 23 was a little noisy from the A127. The shower over the bath was fine apart from the fact a shower mat is required in the bath for safety reasons. I slipped the first time in there and only saved myself from falling completely out by just about grabbing the sink through the shower curtain as I fell.

Love this place, great budget hotel for when we go to the theatre. Always clean and everyone is so friendly. So local to the cinema, Toby carvery, chinese buffet. Every eatery you can imagine.

Only downside is it doesn't have a fridge, but that's to be expected for the price. The lighting is also a little dull as it doesn't have a light, just lamps.
