The Queen at Chester Hotel, BW Premier Collection

Convenient for city centre, opposite rail station( if trains running!) Convenient car park. Rooms in new part part very nice with lovely,big walk-in shower. Lift available,staff lovely and all very friendly.Very nice outside courtyards with plenty of seating.Clean and comfortable.

We had a room next to fire doors which on the whole was very quiet until night time! Why does a member of staff have to patrol the corridors hourly and let the fire doors bang closed? We stayed for two nights and probably got about 3-4 hours sleeps each night,so our nice relaxing stay was not was not at all relaxing. For the sake of future customers sanity please could management sort this out.

our room was a little ’dated’ but comfortable. parking to the rear was quite expensive and as it was dark when we arrived we didn’t actually see the signs saying that you had to pay so am awaiting a £100 fine - staff on reception didn’t actually mention you had to pay either,but to be fair it’s not really their place, though I’m sure we’re not the only ones to have done it.

Staff were very friendly and efficient.

It wasn't the cleanest. It was clean where it matters but don't look too close, there was mould around the bottom of the shower, the bath was dusty and the windows were mouldy and opaque. That being said, the bed itself was spotless and the tea making facilities were very clean. I think more cleaners are needed or they need more time!

The deluxe room was lovely. It was big, clean and very comfortable. Free chocolate in the room was a nice touch ! The best bit was the bed. The most comfortable bed I have ever stayed in - slept so well.

There was a lot of dust on the bottom of the round side table - not a big issue but it had been overlooked by cleaning. It also took a long time to check in - there was a big queue. When we got to the desk it was really quick as we'd done it on the app - but a lot of people waiting and only 2 staff. 4pm also too late to check in although I know the hotel said we could drop bags off. 2pm is more usual for check in and what most hotels offer. We had arrived for the day and left our bags in the car so not a huge issue but I would have thought 2pm check in the usual and it is what many other hotels we have stayed at offer. If I'm honest this is the one issue that might make me choose a different hotel when next in Chester.

We had treated ourseves to a suite and it was beyond expectations - as it was only a one night stay we didn't get to spend as much time in it as we would have liked. The location was good for us as being across the road from the railway station it was easy to get a cab when we needed one. Buffet breakfast was very good. All the staff we cam into contact with were friendly, efficient and helpful. We travelled with friends and had asked for rooms together - this was not possible when we checked in as we had booked two suites and this was clearly explained at check in which we appreciated.

Breakfast was the best part!! Its in a central location, close to the local stores. The Chester castle walls was also close to check out. The room itself was good, but there is not as much attention to regular checks, unless you indicate with one of those crappy (it falls off the doorhandle) cardboard signs that you are out and they can come put toilet paper in your room...

The toilet paper was ridiculously bad, so thin that you easily go through the rolls fast. There isn't a lot of additional amenities given the price you pay for the room. Comparing this to other, fancier, hotels, the room is a bit overpriced.

The decor was to our taste it was interesting the staff especially the gentlemen on the front desk and bar staff were exceptional. In fact 99% of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly we would if ever in Chester again use the hotel again. The only snag was we did ask prior to booking if they had a specific oat milk and we received several email confirmations saying they were fully stocked up however when we got there they had none for our breakfast so we had to eat out at more cost and inconvenience the hotel did get some in later that day but the wrong one which was which spoiled the stay somewhat as breakfast is a big part of a stay at a hotel although the breakfast itself was great but missing that all important cuppa however I must add I did offer to bring my own milk but they insisted they were stocked up lesson learned for future trips. Other than than this tiny mishap I would recommend the Queen at Chester Hotel

Beautiful hotel, glad I paid a little more to stay in the surroundings. They have Breakfast and dinner options. Serving afternoon tea. Comfortable rooms with lots of space to move around. TV was big enough. Room temp great. Décor grand. Across the road from train station and buses to surrounding areas, Wrexham, Liverpool, Broughton shopping complex to name a few. Short walk into Chester centre. Definitely be staying again. Look up the website for pictures of the hotel as my photos don't do justice, Grand.

The grounds were having maintenance so could not be used, would have been nice to sit outside in the Italian gardens.

I like the quirky decoration, so nice to not be in a faceless chain. The outside space was just gorgeous, shame we didn't have time to make use of it. The reception and bar staff were all great and the food was delicious. The room was really quiet, despite its location. Very good value for money, not far from the town centre and literally opposite the train station. The room was really clean and I appreciated the 2 bottles of water.

The lift was out of order, so we were asked to use to staff lift. It opened on the ground floor and a very annoyed lady from housekeeping came out, tutted at us, closed the doors and went back up again. That's my only (minor) criticism.

The family room was the perfect size with two very large comfy beds. The room had great extra touches like the bean bags. The staff were incredible with our son all of them spoke to him and made a real effort to play and make him laugh.

The Bath had some hair in when we arrived from the previous occupants. The parking was extra and at £12 for one night on top of room prices we felt this was a little much. The television in the room while not a major issue for us as we stayed one night if we had stayed longer this may have been an issue we only normal to channels and no way of streaming from phones or tablets.
