The Hotel Chester

Nice little hotel. Felt relatively new and well furnished/decorated. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was nice and the rain shower was excellent. Seemed clean enough, no problems. Location superb, right in the middle of the city. 24 hour shopping center car park right next door, £10 a day parking. Easy walking distance to everything central. Reception lady polite. I didn't use the kitchen area of the room but it looked high end and enough to cook a microwave meal. Wifi was good. No funny sign up pages or difficult codes/extra costs. No thrills but comfortable and reasonably priced compared to other hotels. I'd say here again. If you are looking for a budget friendly hotel that's smart and comfortable but you don't care about the luxuries and facilities, give this place a look.

This is a budget apartment hotel, dressed up like a 5 star. It's a little small and pokey (the room felt very small, particularly to have a kitchen in) and doesn't look particularly swish from the outside. There was no aircon in room which was a shame. Doors are not keycard but old school key/keyring. Oldschool. There's no breakfast/food onsite, not unusual for an apartment hotel but would have been nice. I'd have liked a person to check out with (I prefer it, also to get an invoice) but reception seemed closed and I dropped my key in a box.

The aparthotel was absolutely stunning, situated in the centre of Chester with everything on the door step. There are tons of places to eat /drink within a stones throw of the location and parking on the doorstep at the Grosevnor Shopping Centre. The staff were friendly and professional, even kindly upgraded us to The Secret Garden room as a treat. I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely look to return.

The Secret Garden room although absolutely gorgeous, noises could be heard from the nearest bar/club until midnight. Despite this, there is very little to complain about.

The hotel is in a very convenient location close to shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. The room was very large with a separate living area and very nice bathroom. We don't particularly care for a bath in the room, but there was a large walk-in shower inn the bathroom. Our room was "Flamingo" and the flamingo decor was bold and attractive. The staff are amazing; very friendly and attentive with lots of ideas and advice. We were made to feel very welcome.

Walking up two flights of stairs was tough after a day of walking around! Pillows were a little hard for my liking but we didn't mention it so perhaps there were alternatives.

The location of Chester Hotel was ideal. Very near all the attractions. Plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. The themed rooms were very unusual and I loved the quirkiness. There were rabbit lamps and a wall of roses leading to the bedroom. I was in the room called The Secret Garden. The modern kitchenette was excellent and everything worked. The receptionists were very polite and helpful and I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Chester.

I would have preferred a proper fridge rather than a drinks cabinet.

My boyfriend and I decided last minute to stay over in Chester and couldn’t fault our stay from start to finish - we enjoyed it so much that we decided to stay again the following night. We stayed in ‘The Spa’ room on night one but this room was already booked the following day so we stayed in ‘Bouquet’. The staff were extremely friendly and allowed us to check straight in to the second room after we had left the first. Both rooms were amazing and we would 100% stay again. The location is also perfect - on night one we decided to go out to some of the local bars, but on night two we stayed in and had a quiet night watching

Very clean and stylish room. Hotel in general was lovely, clean and stylish. Great location. Staff very friendly and efficient with great service. Tea/coffee supplies good. Mini bar well stocked. Kitchen area was great for preparing our own breakfast (though a tea towel would be good).

Size of the room (Kensington) was a bit smaller than anticipated. Wardrobe/storage facilities weren’t adequate. Very shallow wardrobe and no drawers at all. We spent our stay living mostly out of our suitcases which wouldn’t be great for anything longer than one night. Also nowhere to hang coats which were very wet! Even hooks on the back of the door would be useful. Would be interested to know if all the other studio rooms at the same rate are the same. This is a personal point but, as much as the bathroom area looked gorgeous, I think I prefer a proper door!

Amazing hotel that really exceeded expectations. Rooms that I had booked were excellent with very comfortable beds. Very friendly staff also very helpful. Room was excellent and showers were brilliant. Nice little touch with a letter they leave you in your room alongside side a glass full of sweets. Minibar well stocked and not over priced like some hotels I have stayed in. Location to town and parking was excellent.

I honestly have nothing bad to say and would definitely book again when I am working this way.

The room called Zoo was fabulous, was a free upgrade as was celebrating my husbands 60th birthday which they had put rose petals on the bed with a card. Size of the room was exceptional, there was free sweets tea coffee hot chocolate and a mini bar. The art work was fabulous also. Jackie & Rhiannon and the rest of the team were fantastic on giving advice for restaurants & bars. Jackie was super friendly on checking in took our bags from the car to our room. On our last night we spoke with John as myself & hubby both work in the hospitality industry giving us some history behind the hotel. We had said our stay was simply amazing & would definitely recommend & make a return visit, he recommended we contacted the hotel direct to get a discount. Right in the heart of the city centre. If looking for a fabulous hotel with great rooms & staff this is a no brainier book it. 10/10 Hotel Chester. Thank you…

Everything! We stopped in the Money Penny room for anyone else looking for a review of this room.. Multi-storey parking being just next door is massively convenient, £10 for 24hrs is as good of a price as I think you'll find. The reception area oozes class, a really nice first impression to make when stopping here, the reception staff were all very friendly & helpful, we even got a guided tour to our room which was a nice touch! Loved the corridor that linked the reception area & the apartment rooms with the illuminous lights. Onto the apartment, where do I start? exceptional, cleanliness was to the highest standard, the apartment itself was everything I'd hoped. The bedroom was a nice big space, big smart TV, the bed was huge & amazingly comfortable. The double walk in showers just behind the bed are a really nice addition & now something I definitely want in my house! A clean on-suite toilet room with a backlit mirror. The living room/kitchenette was cosy, again exceptionally clean. The mini bar prefilled is a nice touch & the prices aren't too bad either. The extra snacks left around are also nice little touch! Plenty of complimentary coffee, tea, sugar, milk, hot chocolate etc. The location is great, you're straight out into the centre of Chester, surrounded by tons of restaurants & bars. Plus on checkout we got 2 cupcakes! My only concerns before spending the night was the hot temperature of the rooms & the noise level as I'd seen a few comments regarding these. All I'll say is, don't let this put you off, the room temperature was for me maybe slightly on the warmer side, that being said I'm known for finding it too warm everywhere I go! But with the air con unit & windows to open the temperature is soon dropped to a very comfortable one. As for the noise, what noise? It was silent, even with the window open, I had a great nights sleep & never heard any kind of noise level.

Even nit picking, I couldn't think of a negative to say other than I wish we could have stopped longer!

Decor is good, staff are very friendly. Nice touches throughout. Location is excellent and close to parking.

We felt that after staying at no10, the groups other hotel in Preston, that this hotel was not quite as good. The attention to detail is not as high, though it was still very good. We stayed in room with jacuzzi, and drain smelt pretty bad. Given that the price was quite high for one night we expected that such uncomfortable smells would have been picked up by staff.
