Oddfellows Chester Hotel & Apartments

Gorgeous little building set back from the main odd fellows building and through the secret garden. There seemed to be plenty of rooms but we didn't hear a peep put of anyone all night although we seen people coming and going whilst we were sat out in the garden had such a peaceful sleep in a lovely comfortable room on an extremely comfortable bed. Woke early as the room was so bright from the sky lights and we just got up and checked out early because we couldn't go back to sleep but right before we left seen a switch on the side of the headboard that said 'MY' on it had no idea what it was but pressed it anyway and to our now disappointment we discovered it hides the sky lights and makes the room pitch black. This would have been lovely had we known but we did enjoy getting up and out although very tired and hungover.

Quiet central place to stay - noisy on arrival as room was overlooking courtyard space which is sectioned out for separate parties. As this is in the centre of town it closes early and it is very quiet during the night. Beds comfortable, good showers tea and coffee facilities in room. Beautiful city to visit. Staff very friendly

Breakfast not included! This is a surprisingly busy town at weekends and so on arrival it was difficult to get to the rooms due to the number of people using the bars and restaurant and was noisy in the afternoon/early evening.

Excellent apartment there was 8 ladies in our apartment we stayed in number 1 .Great there was a designated parking area as one lady had a car .Plenty of bathrooms for us all comfy beds. Excellent location near all attractions shops bars and the River and a stones throw from the city Wall. Even a change of towels and more toilet roll arrived while we were out. The 2 ladies who slept on the bed settee also had a great comfy sleep. Definitely stay here again .

Everything was perfect but just a little quibble need 8 mugs although there were little expresso cups for coffee machine and definitely 8 dining chairs round the table .We actually cooked breakfast 😋 so 2 of us had to sit elsewhere.

Personally The best thing was the 2 night staff that worked Sunday bank holiday .The 2 gentlemen tidying an allowed us back in the hotel after 1am where the best part about the whole stay .As we got back late I asumed with the price there would be some basic snacks for customers on site but sadly there wasnt .Your lovely friendly staff had great batter and manners and 1 even offered me a sandwich of his own .Although I would have accepted gladly I didnt take it off him :). But being a Hotel Manger Myself Based in Liverpool for Travelodge .All I can say This was excellent customer service from both lads/staff working that Night .They went above and beyond with personality! which clearly came to the both Naturally !. It was a gorgeous room Vibe and atmosphere ! But my return to this hotel in the near future will souly be because of your night staff who are a credit to your company ! .As people love Real people not Fake !!!. please thank them both for me as this made a lasting impression and Chuckle for me an my Husband to look back on -on our wedding anniversary stay !

it was the perfect stay

Great location - loved the bar and the outside areas. Room very clean - nice comfy bed. Loved it that you can open the window. Great breakfast that went on till 10.30am and that check out was 12 - both what you want when having a weekend away. Loved the note about Nurofen!!

The loo /visual /glass in the bedroom!! Big water stains in the carpet from having a glass shower in the room! On Saturday it was really noisy because of the bar - like being in a room over a pub, so not what I expected for £150! Thankfully it all stopped at 10.30pm and on Sunday was quiet (although I imagine in the hot weather it's full most nights) Also no price reduction on the local car park, so cost us £40!

Hotel is quirky, I've visited there a few times previously, but never stayed. My room was stunning, it's layout was so different to the norm. They must have had a great architect and interior designer. It was also very comfortable, with a round bed, I wish I had had all the time in the world to be able to have a sleep in.

They could do with a lift, there are both steps up to this boutique hotel, and to the rooms (unless you are ground floor). If you're on the top floor like I was, it's a bit of a trek. Breakfast was average and served luke warm at best.

We stayed in Apartment 2. Two double rooms, both ensuite, and a very large kitchen / dining room / sitting room. Great location, only a 5-10 minute walk from the main centre of Chester (within the city walls). Very quirky decorations - we loved it! Water was hot (watch out for that!). Excellent stay, thank you. My kids said it was the best place they've stayed! We had it on a special deal I think, so was very reasonably priced. Not sure how much the "normal" rate is.

Watch out if you're using Google Maps to find the hotel (you need to go to the hotel to get the apartment keys, but only a couple of minutes walk away). We used Google Maps as we were walking there from the train station, and it took us around to the back service entrance rather than the front door. So watch out for the street names instead!

I was really pleased with our room, it was beautifully presented. The bathroom and sink area was so lovely to get ready in! It felt modern and luxurious. The corridors were tidy and smelt amazing! The staff were great and made us feel really welcome and looked after. This room exceeded my expectations and it was a lovely surprise to my boyfriend for his birthday. I’d definitely come back!

Personally, I’d have liked the toilet to have been a bit more private and closed off rather than the frosted glass screen. However as we were only there for one night, it wasn’t an issue really 😌

Room and Hotel itself was really good.

We booked dinner, bed and breakfast however when arriving at the restaurant the gent who seated us wasn't made aware we had changed our time from 7pm to 8pm, he showed his unhappiness! That wasn't the main issue however as at the end of the meal I was presented with a bill for the drinks and desert. While I expected to pay for the drinks I wasn't expecting to pay for any food which I thought was taken care of in the full price I paid for dinner, room and breakfast. The guy explained we just knock £50 off the bill. On check out while we told the receptionist how happy we where with everything, we explained about the restaurant the previous evening and the lady said she would be in touch. 3 days later and I'm still waiting which has let the hotel down!

Our suite was clean, spacious and comfortable. Check in was quick and easy and staff were very helpful. The location was ideal for accessing central Chester within minutes. The clawfoot tub under the skylight in our bedroom made the stay feel extra luxurious.

It was a bit loud at night due to the bar outside our room (although this shut at 11pm). The toilet was connected to the downstairs living space divided by frosted glass panels and it felt a bit too close for comfort (I didn't particularly want to see my partners feet as they used the toilet while I was sat in the comfort of the sofa).
