This is a great place to stay just outside of Chorley. You do need a car or rely on taxis for getting into town. Very clean room and bathroom. There is no breakfast service on a Monday, but we were kindly offered porridge pots to make ourselves in the room. We also ate here on Sunday - a very good roast dinner and lovely seating in the sunshine in the back garden.

The bathroom would benefit from a non slip mat inside the shower and a bath mat to prevent making the floor outside the shower wet and slippy. And perhaps a reminder of the pub opening hours in the room - we just missed an early closing time on Sunday, but had planned to have a quick night cap back there.

We wanted an overnight stop to break up our return journey from Scotland. The hotel was easily accessible to/from the motorway. Its location and parking were excellent. The hotel exceeded our expectations. It had fabulous outside area to have drinks when we arrived. The rooms and pub/restaurant decor was all newly decorated, modern and clean. The rooms were spacious, really comfortable and super clean. Great shower! We had an amazing meal in the restaurant. Although the pub don't serve breakfast on week days there are tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, along with pots of porridge, which I thought was a nice touch. Numerous places were within easy reach on our return to the motorway, so we didn't feel this was an issue. Parking was free and plenty available. Overall we felt it was a cracking find. Great value for money, and a fab restaurant was a bonus.

When I arrived i was quickly shown to my room, when looking around the room was very clean and included toiletries, tea coffee, towels etc with a shower ensuite.. the staff and locals were incredibly friendly especially the guy who was serving behind the bar. The view from the room was incredible and the place itself had a peaceful feel to it with a beer garden with avaliable shade to enjoy the views, I was able to take food and drink to the room as long as I didn't spill it ;), although the pub does seem in the countryside it is 10 min drive from chorley railways Station which was perfect for going to the concert I went to, when the pub is shut at night the rooms are accessible with a secure door via some stairs on the outside, the room keys have a fob provided to be able to open it. After waking i wasn't full of aches and pains which i sometimes get from sleeping in a different bed with my bad back and i did actually struggle to pull myself out of it, all i can say is thank god for the 11am check out time. My only concern is for a single room I was charged £40, for what was provided as well as the service I would of happily paid more

During my stay, I brought my elderly mother )who is quite unstable on her legs )for lunch and all the staff where amazingly helpful , nothing was too much trouble. The food was , prompt , delicious, well presented and amazing value. My room had an amazing view , the bathroom was scrupulously clean (I am quite picky about bathrooms) and again outstanding value for money both me and my wee dog spent a very relaxing evening together. There is an array of very well presented , private seating areas and also room to party, play area for the children and all kept clean with freshly mown lawns. When in the evening I popped down to the bar for a nightcap , I was made extremely welcome and chatted for sometime with the proprietor what a lovely chap and so very kind . Thankyou Team Hinds Head We will be back !!!

My room ,on the first floor, was spotless. it was well decorated and furnished. the bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was second to none. Fresh towels and toiletries were provided and unlike many hotels I’ve stayed in, it had a power point next to the table and mirror! Plenty of tea, coffee, water and biscuits were provided. I had a room at the back which overlooked fields and woodland. I luckily got the last parking space as I didn’t check in until 8pm but it wasn’t long after they finished serving food that other spaces became available and I moved my car to a space not visible from the road. There was plenty of choice on the breakfast menu and it was value for money. I used this hotel as a one night stop over as it isn’t far off the M6 in a quiet location. Will definitely stay again.

Only a very slight niggle is that breakfast is served from 9am and only on weekends but they do provide pots of porridge in the room if you need to leave earlier.

The staff, especially the cleaner, room was spotless, large and welcoming. nothing was to much trouble for anyone. We were worried about it being in a pub, but as an old building we heard nothing. Food was ok, for evening meal, we didnt have breakfast. Amazing views from the gardens, I'd recommend the hinds heads to anyone

We're townies, hubby had to use car to get paper, BUT I'm sure they would have arranged a delivery had we asked (nothing was to much trouble). No lift ( of course) but they offered to carry our bags up, so if stairs challenge you be aware.

What was not to like!!! Comfortable, exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated and a wardrobe that had ample space and hangers! Enough clothes storage to stay a lot longer than the 2 nights we had. Staff, including owners/managers were so lovely, friendly and helpful. Food..... Wow! We were actually there for a family/friends function and they simply could not have done more to make sure we all enjoyed ourselves. Thank you so much Just want to say, sadly I didn't take photos suitable for a review but we'll definitely stay again

There was absolutely NOTHING not to like. Anyone who doesn't like the place must be either far too fussy or expect far too much for the money they charge

Such a welcoming situation.Staff attentive. Room lovely . Clean and spacious. Tea coffee. Bottled water! Tolitries. We took the dog with us. No charge ,but ,rightly so they check room if any damage and charge if needed. ( Our dog just slept all the time to make us feel bad about putting him in the car! So all good) Lovely beer garden and dog walk space. We had food ..it was georgous. We broke our journey to Scotland here in case weather bad etc. But on the times we go straight on I can see us stopping here for a rest and food . Such a lovely experience.

Not a problem but something to be aware of. There is no overnight staff. If you need to take dog out at 4am eg you need to go out via the " fire stairs" .if you go through the bar you will set off the alarm! So that's ok but if you are a bit unsteady you might wanna be mindful of this. ( Especially if your dog is scared of the stairs and you have to carry it!!) This is not a criticism but as I say you might benefit from this info

A warm welcome by all the staff and a roaring fire on a cold day was most appreciated. The room although a little noisy from the road outside was very clean and modern decor.. The evening meal of 2 courses at £17.95 and three courses for just under £20 excellent choice, value and quality.

We were traveling mid week and missed having breakfast which is apparently available weekends. I enjoyed the fact tea and coffee facilities are in your room I could not understand whilst a breakfast tray with cereal or pastries could not be offered. The fact we understand when the pub was closed we had to leave by the fire exit on the upper floor not ideal as you are left very much to your own devices.

Beautiful location. Room spotlessly clean . Nice gesture with the bottles of water left in our room for our arrival. Staff very friendly and helpful . On the evening we stayed there was entertainment on a fabulous singer . The pub got really busy but we didn't have to wait to long for food or drinks staff were exceptional at looking after their customers. A little gem of a pub/ restaurant and accommodation. Food was fabulous . Breakfast the next morning was amazing . An added bonus for us it's dog friendly as well . Overall a fantastic night's stay would highly recommend
