Manager was on reception on arrival and was very friendly and helpful. He gave advise on best way to get to P!nk concert we were attending later and offered to unzip our bed into 2 singles as the twin room ls were fully booked. Checked on our stay the next day when he saw us at breakfast and asked about our evening. Personal touch was nice.

The hotel was incredibly busy, and staff were not coping with breakfast so well. Ran out of clean cutlery and also of butter. They did do their best and were very polite, but it seemed like they weren't used to such a busy breakfast service.

I was on an adventure - to cycle, solo, across the width of Britain. This was one of the 12 accommodations that I stayed in along the journey. The staff were very friendly and approachable from the moment I arrived to the moment that I left. They helped me with safely and securely storing my bicycle for me during my one night stay. The evening meal and breakfast the next morning were good quality and the bed was comfortable and the room nice and quiet. The friendly staff is what gives this place the great feeling to it

This was the second time we'd stayed at this hotel (as an overnight stay to watch a rugby league match) and we had a very positive experience. The room was comfortable (and a nice temperature for sleeping), the staff were helpful, friendly and cheerful and clearly took pride in their work. We were able to get a decent meal before the match, a drink after the match in the hotel bar and a good breakfast the following morning.

No complaints at all (although some biscuits with the tea and coffee in the room might be nice).

We stayed at the hotel when attending an evening game at the DW Stadium, and it was ideal for this, including the opportunity to grab a meal before the match and have a drink in the bar afterwards. The room was spotless, the bed was firm but comfy and the staff were very friendly and helpful and clearly took a pride in their work. There was a good choice of drinks at the bar and everything was good value.

There wasn't really anything that could have been improved, especially given the location of the hotel.

In a great location, only 6mins drive from town centre but also sat at the entrance to the Martland Park business estate. All staff were very pleasant friendly and helpful, with checking in, general queries, and provision of a good breakfast. Lots of free parking. We also appreciated that this hotel has windows that could be opened in the bedroom to allow fresh air in as we sleep (quite a few purpose built hotels don't seem to have opening windows these days, so this was a nice thing to have!). Nice walks in the fields and along the canal and River Douglas between the Holiday inn and Gathurst.

Though the room was superficially clean, there was a surprisingly large quantity of substantially sized stains on the carpet, sofa, sofa throw cushions, bedsheet, etc... Areas which weren't in direct sight (such as the area of the sofa seat covered by the throw cushions and the backs of these cushions themselves), were rather dusty/bits of loose particles, hairs and threads etc...

The hotels a close drive from most things but out the way enough to be quiet. Breakfast was exceptional. Well cooked and laid out with lots of choice. The family room was huge. Staff were lovely and friendly.

Note by a small shelf saying we'd be fined if we spilled drinks and didn't notify staff. Few cobwebs and cracks in the wall. The extractor in the bathroom did nothing when the first of us had a shower so by the time the 4 had theirs it was like thick fog. Evening the menus we're all laminated and greasy, without much choice and quite expensive considering so we went elsewhere. It's a nice hotel and good value but I've stayed at others in the chain for the same price that were a better.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I saw them often interacting with other guests children and I had a pleasant chat with each one i spoke with throughout my stay. When i asked about taking dessert to my room if ordered, they even offered to bring it which i denied as i didnt mind waiting as it was only a couple of minutes. In the morning for my breakfast I usually like to heat up my croissants but there was no microwave. They offered to take it into the kitchen and returned with them microwaved for me. This meant a lot to me. As im autistic so having my breakfast in a way im used to helps me a lot and was a great start to the day.

There wasn't really anything I didn't like. It was exactly what we wanted, the food was nice in the morning but only missed a microwave

A Lovely new hotel fairly close to DW Stadium. We thought £100 per night was a bit expensive for Wigan but the rooms, facilites and staff were all spot on! Rooms are spacious and have everything you need, lovely walk in shower and comfy bed couldn't fault it at all!! We only had breakfast so can't comment on the restaurant food. Breakfast more than adequate we really enjoyed the bar when we got back from the match, all in all we loved it but still think the price is high for the area its in. DW Stadium is about a 15 minute walk away so great for rugby league fans like us!!

Nothing!!

I use a power chair to get around and I am also a certified Access Auditor. The layout, space and facilities available at this hotel are exceptionally accessible and was a pleasant surprise compared with the vast majority of hotels I have used over the years The owners have thought of most things and there were only very minor issues pointed out. If only all "accessible rooms" were this standard it would make life a lot easier for wheelchair users.
