Crowwood Hotel and Alba Restaurant

i have stopped here before i like this hotel food is also very good

i wanted a drink i was told someone would ask me what i wanted after 10 minutes waiting i had to go to a till station the lady was abrupt with me assume they was busy and stressed.

The staff where amazing I would go back becuse they where so kind and really professional. Everything was so clean and very clean and lovely art on the wall! I was shocked how cheap it was !! Would defo reccomend !! X

Staff were friendly and helpful. Clean and spacious room with good en-suite bathroom with bathtub and shower over. Convenient location. The Alba 'Indian & Scottish restaurant was good. On the Indian half of the menu prices were reasonable and the food good ( I did not try the Scottish part of the menu). Parking was available.

The accommodation was expensive for an overnight stay for a solo traveller. There were no drinking glasses, and no hand towels, and no flannels in the room. Breakfast was poor. I went down for breakfast at 8.45am on the Sunday (reasonable for a Sunday morning) and it was a help your self buffet breakfast. The 'hot' food had obviously been left for a while, and was lukewarm at best. It obviously had not been replenished for a while. Cold plates did not help! There was no fresh fruit, only tinned mixed fruit. The orange juice was of a poor quality, and still in its carton. Coffee likewise was lukewarm from a flask. It's best not to pay for breakfast!

comfortable room, lovely bathroom, good sized tv and everything you may need in room

walls are very thin, could hear everything from the room next door to people going to and from their rooms. no staff on reception for check in, when we alerted a staff member from the bar it still took a while for them to come. we were staying for an event in the function room so this cut time off for us to get settled and ready. when we got to the function room the bar was not set up, they had nothing stocked in fridges, didnt have a card machine and the attitude of bar lady was terrible! I completely understand coming in to find nothing had been set up for her but she didn’t need to take her frustration out on customers. also drink prices seemed to change everytime we went to the bar, ordering the same several times and it would range from £13.00 to £16.00. very strange!

The location was a bit on its own with nothing nearby except for the dual carrigeway. Saying that, our room was facing the road and was very quiet. The double glazing worked well. The property was just being refurbished when we stayed, only the outside being finished off. It was finished to a high standart and exceeded our expectations. We had been visiting in Glasgow and were due to return home the next day. the property was ideally suited to that as it has very easy access to the motorway network. The staff were very polite and helpful, the bed comfortable, the room a good size, with a lovely cooked breakfast. We were well rested and fed by the time we left.

The staff were all very nice and for what we paid we certainly were happy. It’s a bit outside of town but the express bus stop is directly on the road so it was easy enough to get to city centre. Bus doesn’t run past midnight so expect taxis around then but it wasn’t too expensive

Walls are a bit thin, really only thing that stood out was that you could hear a lot from the hall and other rooms

Perfectly located for bus transport into city centre within approx 15 mins. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant looked amazing. Though we didn’t eat there - we wished we had.

The property was perfect. A bit disappointed by welcome on our arrival - not overly friendly. But overall it is an excellent hotel and very comfortable.

The hotel was good the rooms were big. Staff when we got there didn’t really seem to know what she was doing struggles with our questions around where local laundromat was and supermarket etc. but overall the staff were very friendly. The restaurant was amazing seemed to get a sassy manager when first arrived because we hadn’t booked which I thought was rude and uncalled for but they got us a table and we really enjoyed the meal.

Asked for extra pillows , did not get them as surely 2 pillows each is what's expected... So did not get a great night's sleep as head was way too low to breath ... Loose socket for kettle, did tell reception so hopefully next time we visit this will be rectified

We stayed in ‘the best room in the house’ and it certainly was! A beautiful suite with a slipper bath, fabulous shower and 4 poster bed! The staff in the restaurant were great, especially the the very chatty young lady who checked us in and expertly guided us through our dinner order. Sorry I didn’t take your name, but you know who you are! Look forward to seeing you again next time we stay.

Breakfast finished at 9am on a Sunday - so we missed it. We have a monthly night away and all the other hotels have served Sunday breakfast until 10am.
