All the food was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and served very quickly. The staff were all lovely and helpful. The room was boiling when I arrived, but the radiators were easily controlled to make it more comfortable. The bedroom was a fantastic size. Iron and Ironing board already in the wardrobe, no need to request them from Reception.

The bedroom furniture and bathroom are a little dated. The toilet flush was not very effective, and the shower head was a bit weak. The wardrobe was disappointing. I had several full-length garments to hang, and although the wardrobe was nice and tall from the outside, it had a very low hanging rail and was therefore of little use to me. There was very limited electric light, which made putting makeup on at the dressing table in the early morning very tricky indeed. There was no full-length mirror in the room

We had an enormous room in a quirky building full of character. The continental breakfast was very good, and value for money (we paid £7 each, £5 for children) compared to other places. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the hotel was ideally situated for us as we were attending a wedding at Houchins venue which was only a mile and a half away. The village of Coggeshall is very interesting too.

We booked a table at the restaurant part of the hotel - the menu was very appealing but it took over an hour to get our meals served as the kitchen was short-staffed (even though we were the only diners there at the time) and when we tried to order desserts the kitchen had closed. The staff were very apologetic however.

Fab for me. I was upset as I wanted close to Colchester . Walking .bi rechecked my booking saw ohhhhh it's where? Ok I said I will see transport , thought for sure next state county or nation as far as I could see. The bus although infrequently and a liitkeealj that been nit fir child. I managed ok. Not drinking missed last bus on a occasion and taxi is expensive at that akward time . But managed . Been reluctant to catch a bus to Colchester I said sleep more which I needed. So fantastic . I liked here more than many other stays . I'd park and ride take transport and see. That forces real thoughts about my needs and walking is too better. Always thoughts than relax on and life's is gone

Oh the outdoor light on all night. They need to switch it off and on as they require . If there is some danger discuss this to an outcome d light diverts to more vulnerable

Room was very spacious, had a lovely balcony which helped with the hot weather, breakfast was great, staff are very friendly and helpful with extras we asked for. Lovely location with great parking...

2 windows in our room we couldn't open including one in the bathroom, not many plugs in the room for charging but lots of old home phone points, the shower was a bit poor as it was a bath shower and had to put a towel in it as it was slippery

Perfect location in the heart of Coggeshall. Lovely welcoming and friendly service which really made our stay. Decor in bedrooms was a little shabby but they were impeccably clean, with nice quality bedding and towels. On arrival I asked for a jug of non-dairy milk for my tea - they didn't have any so the receptionist went to the local shop to buy some - so helpful.

Nothing apart from slightly tired decor and fittings in the bedrooms. Not a big deal for us.

Atmospheric, old, traditional medieval timber structure building - communal areas. Staff upbeat and helpful.

VERY soft, sunken bed on the bedside cabinet side. I had to sleep on the other side foot end as even the other side was too soft. That mattress really needed to be replaced. Room was serviced everyday which, for me, was too much, plus I hadn't requested it - I thought that was an option on request. Also, from a sustainability pov replacing towels everyday - all 4 - was a drain on resources, especially water. Breakfast - small detail - first morning there were no teaspoons so I had to use a desert spoon for sugar in my coffee. Suggestion - breakfast - please provide drinking water alongside the soft drinks.

Very friendly staff, meals were nice/amazing full English, and the room was comfortable. The building was old and had loads of character. Plenty of free parking. Would definitely stop again

Just a couple of small snags.... Had to put the kettle on the floor to boil as no sockets up by the desk, could do with a steam iron as the one we had was pretty useless. But everything else was great.

I always enjoy a White Hart inn. What the hotel lacked in modern facilities, it more than made up for in atmosphere and its historic feel. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful and polite. Coggeshall is a pretty town, full of listed buildings. The White Hart was the perfect location for a walk and to see the local National Trust properties. At approximately £70 including breakfast, it was excellent value for money.

The WiFi and phone reception was practically nonexistent. I would recommend they replace the Cloud system with a more reliable broadband.

The staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful and polite. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets crisp and clean.

The room wasn't as clean as I had expected - we found a pair of dirty socks in a drawer and the toilet bowl was dirty (there was no toilet brush to clean it). There was a bit of rubbish on the floor in the bathroom and in the sink. It didn't spoil our stay though.
