Globe Hotel

Great room - we were upgraded as soon as we arrived. Managed to park easily in their car park and left our car there for duration of stay. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was excellent. Unfortunately we left an electric toothbrush in the room when we left - we phoned the day after - the receptionist couldn't have been more helpful, he followed it up for us and it was retrieved. Then they packed and posted it to us and we got it back that week. Thanks for great service - it is much appreciated and certainly a mark of going beyond.

more like an apartment than a room, great to sit in, work & relax. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Wireless very fast, telly big enough for the large room, good bed, choice of seats around the room. Everything grand.

My mobile is unreliable at times and as I need to make an early start, I tried to organise a backup.... and was amazed that there is no way of setting an alarm on the telephone system and that, despite announcement of 24/7 reception services on blurb in room, no one can do a wake-up call, there is no conventional alarm-clock in the whole hotel.... and that it is not even possible to ask someone to call from outside as phone systems only internal. Something to stop anyone getting too much sleep.

Comfortable room. Shower nice and hot although shower doors did not quite meet. Extra tea and coffee was put in the room every day and cleaned well every day Polite friendly staff For the money we paid it was good.

Room faced road. Noisy. I understand the hotel could not help this. The restaurant connected to the hotel went on late below our window but nothing about this was mentioned on the website. Buying breakfast at the restaurant connected to the hotel ; They did not change the table cloths from the night before. We had to ask for the table clothes to be changed. The staff there seem to be under the illusion that the covid vaccine means you can not catch covid at all (although staff friendly). Tables should be clean regardless of covid anyway. The food in this restaurant was excellent.

The room was lovely and clean. The staff are very friendly. Was very relaxing stay. Also it is an excellent location and close to castle park. I like that there's parking unlike some of the hotels on the high street. Highly recommend staying here. Very professional, respectful and attentive staff and atmosphere.

Nothing I didn't like.

Very comfortable room. We were upgraded to stay in the "Star Anglia" hotel, which is across the lane accessing the carpark and linked with the Globe hotel. It was very clean and quiet, pleasant staff.

Nothing really. The breakfast was meant to be taken in the Globe hotel part of this small complex of two hotels, but we had ours with the family we visited

Lovely staff, and an easy walk to the town (5 mins). Clean and easy. Nice bed, which was comfortable. Quiet.

Smelled of bleach. And there was a very bright light from the "emergency lighting" box on in the room all night, which made sleeping difficult.

Didn't have breakfast mainly because I spent a lot of time contacting friends in the morning. Really appreciated the peace and quiet during the day and night which meant I slept very well. Really liked your on site car park. Hotel staff always made me feel welcome.

Was unsure about who would be classed as an unauthorised visitor. Have an old friend in Ipswich but was unsure about inviting him to the hotel for an hour or two.Before I booked my room I was hoping that breakfast would be included in the price of the room. Did realise later that this was not possible.

Arrived late and was hungry, lucky we had our packed dinner which was now cold, but the lady at the desk (Kate) politely assist to help us speak to the kitchen to warm the food for us, and plus brought the food to our room.

Just a short walk to the high street, big windows that we could open on the hottest weekend of the year, clean and spacious room

Took a while to figure out how to open the windows as there were two layers of windows with a latch, there could have been a fan provided

Staff were very friendly. Had a fault with the kettle in my room (kept tripping the electrics) so rang reception to ask for replacement. One was provided to my room shortly after and had no problems.
