It was the perfect overnight stay to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The Sunday roast was absolutely delicious, followed by the most amazing sticky toffee pudding I have ever tasted! The decor in the restaurant and bar definitely gives off cosy vibes and the new owners have done a grand job of making the Coorie Inn a welcoming place to visit. Breakfast the following morning was also first class. After an initial mix up with the check in to our room on arrival, this was quickly sorted and we enjoyed our stay in the deluxe room. Would definitely recommend!

The breakfast was very tasty, well presented and served with a smile. The dinner was excellent. My wife had the cheese soufflé followed by the breast of grouse. I had the scallops as a starter followed by the roast beef. All our choices were excellent. The flavours were delicious, the presentation was simple but tasteful, the portions were generous and we could not have asked for a better meal. The room was of a decent size and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and the lighting was good so that you could read in bed with no eye strain.

Given the small scale of the hotel, the facilities were very good. We could not fault any aspect of our stay.

An authentic Scottish Welcome here at the Barley Bree. Food deserves the Michelin star it has and matched with wonderful wines we had a lovely birthday dinner and over night stay here on 08th September . lovely touches of tartan and cool art work around the rooms and restaurant. lovely enthusiastic foh team here and they work extremely hard to ensure everything is perfect for you. A Wee gem of a place which we will definitely be returning to. thank you.

there was no background music in the restaurant or bar which would have added to the ambience.

Loved this old & cute hotel. The purpose for our stay was a family wedding at culdess castle which was minutes down the road in a taxi. Breakfast was exceptional, never have I had scrambled eggs like these- I need to know the secret. Thank goodness we stayed for two nights to have this fab Scottish breakfast for 2 days running!! Can't comment on the restaurant food as we didn't get chance to eat in there but if breakfast was anything to go by then that should also be of a good standard. Our room was fairly small but big enough for the two of us, shower wasn't so good as there didn't seem much pressure. Nice touches in the shower room with lovely shower gels, shampoos & soap to use. Coffee making facilities, bottled water on arrival & hairdryer in the drawer. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Well done Barley Bree 👏👏

Just the pressure in the shower but really that was the only fault.

We stayed for 5 nights in room 1 and loved the place! The room was very spacious, with a big bathroom and plenty of places to put toiletries etc. The bed was amazing! Very large and unbelievably comfortable so we both slept very well during our stay. Despite the fairly busy road at the front, we had no problem with traffic noise, though it wasn't warm enough to need the windows open. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and you are certainly made to feel welcome. Plenty of room for parking. Gravel and wet cobbles don't usually make the best combination for parking a heavy motorbike, but actually we didn't have any problems. Finally, we must mention the food! It was superb. Really really nicely done and clearly they are passionate about it. The small menu is usually a good sign, which means they're focusing on producing something pretty special. And they certainly achieved that. But at the same time the environment is relaxed and not pretentious, so made for an overall excellent stay.

We stayed for one night, warmly welcomed on arrival. We had pre booked dinner at the restaurant. This was exceptional. We opted for the steak which was excellent followed by choices from the sweet menu. Breakfast was freshly prepared and very nice. We enjoyed a cocktail in the Barley Bree's bar. We had the cooked breakfast bacon, egg, black pudding, tomatoes, mushroom. Fresh orange and tea or coffee and toast was also served. I would highly recommend it. A lovely choice for a relaxing break way.

The best part of our stay was our outstanding dining experience in the Barley Bree restaurant. It was easily the best food we have had on our trip so far. The hotel room was fine and comfortable. We found the staff really good, particularly Alma(?) who was delightful.

Loved the ambience of the Coach House and the decor of the bedroom plus very comfy bed! The staff were so so nice and helpful and I loved my Dry Martini in the bar! Food top notch. Barley Bree is set in superb countryside so we enjoyed our scenic drive down from the north and although we only stayed one night it was a totally lovely experience. Very useful parking on site too.

N/A shame we could only stay one night!

The premises were very nice and had a lot of character, free car parking was just behind the hotel, the staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times, the room was spotless

My partner is a vegetarian and there wasn't much choice on the menu for her but the staff accommodated her having a starter for her main course
