Breakfasts were really lovely. Nice bar area and a sheltered, very welcome beer garden. Great curry house across the road. Availability of iron/board and fan and tea/coffee/biscuits. Great to be able to park safely on site

Rooms were quite hot and although I had the radiator turned off it still remained on, so a bit uncomfortable without the window open. The fan came in very useful. We were out for the full day so didn't bother to report it as the weather was about to turn unpleasant again and future guests may have been grateful of the warmth! The bathroom was a little snug but perfectly functional. Just something to note that if you are on the first floor in a certain room while the pub is still open, you can hear the hand dryers in the toilets below on a regular basis. Nothing mentioned would deter me from staying again though

Breakfasts were great. The room was clean and well-maintained. We'd arrived after a big snow fall and the staff were very keen to make sure we stayed safe. Good location for places to eat in Dronfield and to get into Sheffield.

After about 8pm (Fri and Sat), the hotel turned from a pleasant family pub to a Wetherspoons type place, full of loud youth in puffa jackets and cross-over bodybags. Lots of swearing and lairy behaviour and young bar staff that didnt look like they could deal with any problems if they arose. We retreated to our room. Luckily, we were on the second floor so it wasn't noisy. To be fair, they had told us about the dj on Fri night and we were quite looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the clientele were unpleasant.

Had a lovely stay in this great, charming, atmospheric hotel, booked into a suite. Manja was very friendly and welcoming on arrival. Checked us in and answered all questions with such knowledge and friendliness! Suite was well worth the money, excellent living area, bedroom, and bathroom. Comfortable bed. All the amenities you could need, iron, hairdryer, shampoo etc. Shower takes a couple of mins to warm up but we did have prior warning about this from the amazing Manja. Once it got warm it was a lovely shower. Even had a full size bath. Breakfast was delicious, very good service too. Pre booked a time a lot from the ever reliable manja however wasn’t waiting long for food. Bar down stairs is warm and vibrant without been to busy. Excellent service from staff member Manja at the bar too. SPECIAL stay, how manja didn’t miss a BEAT is MADNESS to me, we couldn’t have SELECTOR’d a nicer hotel. There was no BAD MANNERS at all from anyone.

Only minor thing I can think of, is that in the suite you have to fill up the kettle all the way in the bathroom. Which isn’t that far to be fair! Maybe a bottle of water to fill into the kettle I thought? Not to worry - the sublime manja got us a jug of water to supply the kettle 🙂 My tea with the breakfast wasn’t very hot but everything else was fantastic.

Bit Quirky but perfect for what we needed and a good price. Breakfast excellent and staff friendly, helpful and know what they are doing. Car park excellent for our motorcycles. front of house is in the bar and its a locals pub with great beer and nice atmosphere but no food. clearly well run, clean and comfortable.

No evening food. There are plenty of places to eat in Dronfield so not a problem if don't mind going out again to eat. Indian opposite very good and reasonably priced. Excellent Italian 700 yds up the road. Others nearby. The Hotel breakfast is excellent. You won't leave hungry in the morning.

Nice old stone manor house (hint in the name) with a bar and breakfast cafe downstairs, staff very friendly, our party had a suite, which was very nice indeed, and an upstairs room which was small but perfectly adequate. Quiet between 11 pm and 7-8am, so slept well. Good breakfast. Off road Car park behind the property. About 20 mins easy drive from central Sheffield, of course nearby train link to Sheffield also.

Be aware no evening meals served but lots of very local restaurants, pubs etc, all easy walking, not an issue for us as we had plans elsewhere.

Location perfect for my stay. Very warm welcome. Comfy bed. Large bath sheets. Excellent breakfast. Warning the water takes a while to run hot (it is a very old building) and when it does it's a fabulous shower!

Would have liked to know at booking that Friday night, weather permitting in Summer, is DJ night! My room overlooked the bar so I had T V on high volume to be able to hear it! The music did stop around 22.30. Despite excellent cleanliness and comfy bed the room and ensuite are 'tired' looking.

property was really cute & quirky. we were in room 1, a suite which had a separate living area, bedroom & bathroom. plenty of space, the bed wasn’t the biggest but that’s ok. staff were really friendly and available 24/7 should you need anything. they don’t serve food for lunch/dinner, but plenty available nearby (including a pub next door) breakfast is served downstairs and is EXCELLENT! plenty to choose from and friendly service.

we booked 2 rooms. myself and my partner had the suite, and our friends had a room with a private external bathroom. perhaps wouldn’t be ideal for some people staying but for us it was ok

Great old fashioned pub hotel in good central location. We had a first floor suite which was decent. The bar was very good with a friendly ambience and welcoming staff. Breakfast was excellent

Pity there was no food service (other than breakfast) but there are plenty of food establishments close by in particular the gastro pub next door which served great food and large selection of drinks

The manor house had lots of character and the parking worked well. It was great to have a bar on site The breakfast times were very flexible and the breakfast was very good quality and presentation. Some staff were lovely

The room was quite small with an odd lay out which meant that there were no bed side tables and one side of the double bed was against the wall. That said, it was clean and had everything we needed. External steps to the first floor and stairs up to rooms on the second floor may be a problem for some. Some staff were lovely - others a bit off hand.

A stunning 17th Century hotel. Modern conversions on the bedrooms but loved the exposed breams. The décor was stunning. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel kept me informed regarding parking. There was nothing that I could fault.

The beautiful, tasteful décor. The colour matching on the paintwork was exceptional. The pretty decorations in the alcoves provided a lovely Christmas, homely feeling. The staff had such a friendly manner and obviously were enjoying being there. It was a pity we were only able to stay one night. Hope to use again if in the area.
