The staff are all very friendly. The room rate is excellent and breakfast is good. Good parking and electric chargers. Good location for us to visit Harewood House the next day. Beautiful outlooks over the fields. Reasonable bar prices. Nice modern clean facilities throughout. A scone and jam left for us in the room :-) This was our second visit and we would return but we would choose a different room.

Unfortunately our room was bathed in light all night by the lights outside the window. We did report it to reception the next morning. Also the room fridge is very noisy and no way to turn it off. Also our room was next to a flight of stairs used by the staff and it was a little noisy. Try to avoid Herald room.

This is such a great place to stay. The cottage is right opposite the front door of this charming pub. You can park in the pub carpark or on the street outside the cottage. It has a pretty lounge with good tv, a large well equipped kitchen including washing machine. There is a small sunny courtyard garden with table and chairs. Upstairs the large king room is ensuite with a lovely bath shower. The second room is smaller but with a super king sized bed which was the comfiest sleep I have ever had. The shower and toilet for this room are downstairs (about 8 steps) off the kitchen. The wifi was excellent and there was even a welcome cream tea waiting for us! Breakfast in the pub was great as were our evening meals. The views from the large terrace are beautiful. The staff are truly exceptional, kind, professional and efficient, nothing is too much trouble for them. We would definitely return to this charming place.

Absolutely nothing, we loved it all.

I loved everything about my stay at The Peacock. There was space for parking, the staff were always polite and friendly, my meals were always served on time and tasted delicious. My room was perfect, it was spacious, clean, has a extremely comfy bed. The bathroom had a waterfall shower, which was a lovely start to my morning. I was provided with warm cosy bath robes with fluffy white slippers. My room had a high tech kettle and coffee machine. It's a short driving distance from tourist activities you may want to try like Monsal cycle trail or visiting the stunning town of Bakewell. I would definitely recommend The Peacock. It's luxury meets countryside side. It's just a beautiful spot.

The Peacock has been tastefully decorated and renovated with extremely comfortable, modern beds with all that entails - layers of padding, independent springs etc. The room had a really nice TV with excellent reception and choice of programs. The bathroom was huge and had a big bath and modern, powerful shower. We ate dinner and breakfast here. The food was very tasty and well presented. Staff were attentive and charming. Breakfast is included in the tariff and includes such choices as Eggs Benedict Royale and full or half English breakfast. Accessing the accommodation is easy with your cases from a big carpark. There are steps down to the restaurant however you can walk around and come in at the front. There’s outside dining on the front terrace too which looked lovely in the morning sun. I would return here in an instance and recommend staying here to anyone passing through this area or going on one of the many walks.

Staff were friendly and welcoming always with smiles on their faces. Visually interesting and inviting, picturesque views of the countryside were a treat to see, the sculptures were fun to locate and the cozy pub atmosphere was surprising. Our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We enjoyed our visit so much and would recommend to anyone wanting a good nights sleep waking up to a yummy breakfast, with easy access to beautiful sightseeing towns, attractions and walks, to then come back to relax in the pub with a large glass of Malbec and a pint have a hearty evening meal, to then retire to your very comfortable room.

Our only gripe would be how they food differed from day to day. In general it was all great. I had the same meal choice on my first and last day as I love a roast and our first meal was so delicious I had to have it again before I left, but it was so different In presentation and taste I was disappointed but I guess that could be down to different staff on the day.

A wonderful experience. The perfect night stay. Hood parking, excellent food, lovely staff and service, very spacious and rather lovely bathroom with a gorgeous bathtub and walk in shower, very comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making with biscuits. And beautiful views. Absolutely delightful.

Hahahaha. When we arrived back late from an evening trip, we couldn't find how to get back in (there is a door near to the additional parking car park). We were getting a little concerned that we would need to sleep in our car! The night lights were a little bright in the bedroom but we got used to them. But really, nothing.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room and the venue as a whole had been refurbished to a very high standard. Lovely large walk in shower. Plenty of mirrors. Liked the fridge and coffee maker. Fantastic views from the room and the restaurant. Great quality food. I liked the eggs purgatory for breakfast and availability of marmite. The sea bream dinner was especially good and the baked cheesecake topped with Eton mess was to die for!

It's a pity an earlier breakfast 8am is not standard. A little more organisation needed on food ordering. Our early breakfast preorder was lost by the first morning, but quickly rectified. Also our final food and drink bill included two items that weren't ours. However this was also quickly rectified. The bed was fairly good but I would have preferred a firmer matress. I knew the venue was dog friendly when I booked it (I chose it for location) but that does not alter my opinion that a restaurant is not a place dogs should be, although the dogs there were not a nuisance.

Have stayed previously and will stay again. We stayed in a slightly smaller room than normal but the facilities are just the same. All the meals were perfect. The four of us each had a different main course, as we always do, and everyone one of them was beautifully prepared. Would seriously recommend the chicken dinner. Breakfast was served in the “pub” and was similarly substantial with extra teas and coffee brought to us on request. Some hotels we frequent are not so generous. Will return in near future and looking forward to it.

Nothing really, apart from the fact that the journey to it, via the roundabout at Owler Bar, was quite “interesting” due to the narrow roadways leading to the premises. Of course, it had to happen to us, we had to settle in behind the largest farm vehicle I have ever seen in my Life, for the whole journey!!! Reminded me of those country lanes in Cornwall. But never mind, it was part of the whole enjoyable experience and we laughed about it afterwards. The hotel itself, no complaints at all.

The owners of this establishment should be proud of their rooms and the lovely decor throughout the whole place.The rooms are very tastefully decorated with individual touches here and there.We had a lovely sweet treat upon arrival. The bathroom is fantastic: it's spacious, modern and again has those extra touches. Good enough to sleep in! Outside, the countryside view was nice and peaceful as we sat by the patio heater. We felt we had value for money. The restaurant food looked good though we had already eaten before we arrived. Breakfast was cooked quickly and was tasty.

No connection for all 3 of us to the onsite wifi. We all got the message: IP address can not be located using the logon provided. Then one of us finally connected just after breakfast the next morning. Fruit salad at breakfast would have complemented what we ordered. Allocated guest parking spaces would be useful though we did eventually get a parking space. (We arrived on a Sunday to a packed restaurant so the car park was likely busier than usual.) Please note that these concerns would not stop us returning!
