Crowne Plaza Felbridge - Gatwick, an IHG Hotel

Very helpful and friendly reception. An utterly outstanding food / restaurant manager in Steven. A brilliant and hard working manager in Shantanu. The staff really made a huge difference.

The swimming rules for families are ridiculously draconian in excluding children between 1000 and 1800. How many children are going to want to go swimming after 1800? How many parents (on a mimi holiday) are going to want to get up at 0700, in order to get the children washed and dressed and breakfasted, so that they can get to the pool by 0900 for an hour's swim before they are ordered out? You cannot call yourself a "family friendly hotel" with this exclusionary policy re swimming. It discriminates unfairly for families. It needs to change.

We stayed at the Felbridge whilst attending a 4 day conference in another hotel, due to the leisure facilities available at Felbridge. We returned from our first day to find the facilities closed early due to staff shortages. The same thing happened the following day so of course were were extremely disappointed. We vented our frustrations at the poor receptionist JUSTYNA, who remained calm and was polite and apologetic. She promised to speak to her manager to see if the situation could be resolved for the rest of our stay. 10 Minutes later, we were greeted by one of the hotel managers MARK, in company with MAGDA, who both went above and beyond to compensate us for our disappointment. MARK was truly amazing, he was a complete gent and really did all he could to show us how he valued our custom, and wanted to do all he could to compensate us, even though the decision to close the facilities was not his. For the rest of our stay the facilities were open to full advertised hours, which could of course have been coincidence, however, I wanted to leave a review and give recognition for JUSTYNA, MARK and MAGDA for their excellent customer service, and genuine concern for their guests. They are a credit to the hotel, and 'crown plaza' should be aware of the excellent job they are doing for their guests. This is a lovely hotel, we have stayed before and will again, the rooms are amazing, comfortable beds, spacious and the breakfast is amazing and the spa facilities (when open!) are lovely. Never a problem with parking which is also an added bonus.

Spacious modern room with a large king size bed. Black out curtains were great and definitely needed. The staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was very nice and also catered well to allergens (gluten free). Complimentary drinks coupons as we were celebrating, which was a nice touch. The spa was lovely, very relaxing and had a lot to offer including the option to relax outside.

Unfortunately the bathroom left a lot to be desired. There were no flannels, the bath is shallow, narrow and hard to stand in to shower. The shower head is rather small and fixed with limited movement. The shower screen moved to easy and had black mould on the seals and all the way up the hinge. Also needs a top up on painting/ general update to be morden like the room. The distance from room to reception is a long walk and there's no fast way to get to the spa and dining area. For the price paid we would expect the bathroom facilities to be better.

The standout feature was how friendly, warm and professional the staff were everywhere in the hotel. From the minute we arrived to when we left they could not have done more to make our stay any more enjoyable. We had a wonderful night away primarily because of how great the team at the hotel were. We were expecting not to spend much time in the hotel but we enjoyed it so much we didnt leave until it was time to checkout. One of the very few places where the bar team took as much time over making non alcoholic cocktails as they did with standard cocktails which we really appreciated.

A little on the pricey side for food but we expected that eating in hotel restaurant. The quality of the dinner was great so worth the cost to us but felt that the cost for breakfast was a little high for the overall quality and a standard breakfast buffet however again the service was exemplary and the food was plentiful, its not the hotels fault we don't eat enough at breakfast to feel like we get our money's worth from a buffet meal :)

the spa is not well run: got the automatic message from the hotel says is open till 22:00 at the entrance got told it closes at 18:00 and that what happened it states different time for family and not but there were many families in the swimming at the time should not be For 1 hour couldn’t swim Also I booked a massage for my wife’s 50 birthday months in advance via phone I called to confirm the time the week before Nobody would answer the phone, left message and nobody returned my calls emailed nobody answered Emailed hotel reception who confirmed it was booked at 5 pm On the same day at 12:00 I got a call saying was cancelled because of staff shortage

We had great interjoining rooms perfect for the six of us. The staff were so helpful and friendly, despite it being a really busy weekend for them! The breakfast buffet was awesome, everything you could want for breakfast and we had a delicious dinner in the evening. A great weekend thank you x

The 'Family time' in the pool seems a bit harsh... 08.00 - 10.00 and 18.00 - 20.00 is actually when families tend to want to eat together. Possibly a mid afternoon window would be considered?

We stayed hear the night before my friend's wedding. The reception staff saw our bride/bridesmaid dressing gowns on our way down to the spa and sent a bottle of prosecco to the room. We were also given a shot with our dinner. The food was lovely. The spa was really peaceful, only a couple of other visitors when we went down. We had a really lovely, relaxing stay which was exactly what we needed.

There was a bit of a slow moving queue when we arrived to check-in, but the reception staff apologised for the wait.

The hotel certainly provided an environment for myself and guests (5 adult ladies, one double and one triple room) to enjoy quality time together. The cleanliness and quality of the rooms were great; helpful and friendly staff who were very happy to assist in delivering a suprise birthday cake during our evening meal; Spa facilities were lovely minus the pool; great varied breakfast and dinner was lovely too

The pool within the Spa was FREEZING! Impossible to enjoy a swim. Fortunately the other spa facilities made up for this. This is a minor issue and was resolved once spoke to reception but the facilities in the room did not cater for the amount of guests e.g., no robes or slippers, 2 mugs in a room booked for 3 people.

Wonderful, helpful and friendly staff. We were provided a large room on the ground floor once the reception staff saw us with a newborn and the wealth of "stuff" that comes with baby! Room was clean and had plenty of space (including room for the travel cot we brought with us) and the bed was comfortable. The team in the restaurant at breakfast were great and always friendly, and the food itself was good.

Bathroom a little outdated and could do with a bit of an update. Still useable and clean, however.

Although the hotel has a rather dated facade, the inside is modern and fresh. Our room large with firm but very comfortable beds. Good air conditioning. Large TV. Useful to have a fridge. Very pleasant outdoor seating areas. The restaurant was modern and bright. Breakfast was excellent. Everything was well cooked and nicely presented. Good to be able to make a pot of tea and refresh it yourself.

Bathroom was small and only had a shower over the bath. Much prefer a walk-in shower. The toiletries were nice though. Food and beverage prices were a bit steep and there were some hefty supplements on some dinner menu items.
