Wonderful old building, as original as you can get. Most of the original fixtures and fittings are still there. The bed was very comfortable and with proper pillows, two each. The en-suite was excellent with a nice big shower head. The food was excellent too, although it took a while for the sweet to arrive Excellent local beer. The room we stayed in was the Pooh room, which put a great big smile on my wife's face, being a lifelong Winnie the Pooh fan.

The bar was as you would expect for an old building, timber joists, and low ceiling, very cosy. The accommodation rooms looked a little tatty with what looked like coffee stains and loops of wool here and there on the carpet as if something had caught and pulled out the wool and looked like it had been there for a while. Towels were not available at the time of check-in but were assured that they would be there when we got back from a walk. They were not. Had to remind a staff member. They arrived during our evening meal. Other than this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

The staff was incredible. All the staff that I dealt with were fairly young, but they tried hard to meet my needs and make my stay very comfortable. I thought the bed was incredibly comfortable - I slept very well while I was there. I was in the Kanga room which was right above the bar. A little on the noisy side, but not so much that I couldn't fall asleep and sleep well. My breakfast the first morning was incredibly large. I asked for a smaller breakfast the second morning and the chef was very accommodating. All very nice!

The Inn is an older building and it does show it's age. Some of it adds to the charm of the place. Some of it could be updated a little.

Breakfast exceeded expectations. Midweek booking so breakfast was Continental only however this included a choice of eggs on toast (excellent poached eggs) and warmed croissants. As a non tea and coffee drinker I was pleased to be given hot chocolate. Very friendly staff. Bag kept securely after check out. Good range of toiletries. Large, comfy bed. Bottled water.

No towels in room on arrival but sorted very quickly. Drinking glass was dirty. I am sure it would have been changed if I had asked but it was late when I noticed it.

Beautiful historic interiors, easy parking, very welcoming and lovely to our dog, good food, friendly helpful people, and excellent walks right from the doorstep. This is an easy place to take a break with a four-legged friend.

The gorgeous bedroom we were first allocated in the oldest part of the inn made me very happy indeed, but turned out to be a bit too noisy for my very sensitive other half, so we had to move rooms for our second night. The second room was quiet and would have been very comfy but we had to get the pillows changed as three out of four were rock hard. It all got sorted out, with good humour, so nothing was too much trouble.

We enjoyed our stay the first evening we decided on fish and chips in the restaurant and wasnt very impressed with the food on recommendation of another couple we decided to try the next evening and was very pleased with the our meal and well worth the money. Breakfast was lovely also the staff were always happy to help. We even had a smart tv and was able to log into Netflix.

We asked for information on the pooh bridge walk but wasn't given anything after being told they would give us a leaflet. Very small niggle.

Wondeful room. Looked like it had been refurbished not long ago. Great bed(s), nice decor, modern bathroom..

We missed a floor mat in the bathroom and a couple of ofter pillows to choose from would have been fab! And the breakfast room felt like we were not really expected that morning (quite cold, had to look for salt, pepper, jam, etc) but that May be because it was november - not high season. Other than that, great stay.

The host, Kate, was lovely, very welcoming and helpful. The full English cooked breakfast was substantial and the ingredients were good quality and well cooked. The vegetarian cooked breakfast was also excellent. We visited to see Winnie the Pooh sites and the Pooh Corner shop, so the location was excellent. Beer in the bar was very good, and nice eating area too.

We stayed in Tigger and the loo seat and brush really should be replaced as they were old and discoloured. There were crumbs in the drawers and the general cleaning, while Ok, needed to be more thorough. Car park is busy at times so was hard to park on one occasion. Also a busy road through the village. Its a pub, so there was noise from the bar below until late, but that is to be expected.

Room comfortable. Good food and service. Friendly. Nice atmospheric old pub.

Noise from the bar below our room. Loud music until 11.30 and noisy conversations beyond midnight. Stopped when we asked but was only negative feature. Expect some noise in pub but not so late. We stayed for just one night so don’t know if this is usual.

The Inn is a old traditional building with original features and a lovely pub underneath the rooms where breakfast is served. It only has 4 rooms that are all named after characters from Winnie the Pooh which are decorated and kept to a very good standard. Kanga room was very welcoming and comfortable after a long day out but, watch out for its low beams if you are tall! Even with the pub below it was not noisy. Highly recommend the Anchor Inn if you are looking for something unique

There really wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the Inn

Great location in beautiful Sussex village , room excellent and clean

It would have been good to now that a band was playing in the bar below our bedroom as it didn't finish until 11:30pm ! We had been travelling a long way and would have liked to sleep. Service in restaurant was slow
