Great Location, walking distance to all the popular landmarks. Amazing selection of great quality restaurants right on Thistle Street. The quality of the amenities and bed were all very satisfactory.

only complaint is even with repeated reminders to the staff on duty, the house keeping did not once come to clean the room in all our 4 nights stay. ON the first day the house keeping lady came at around 9:00am and we weren't ready yet so she said she'll come back later, she never came back for the next 3 days.

Super location in central Edinburgh, yet in the quiet Thistle street. We arrived past midnight after a long flight, and was relieved that the instructions given for apartment access worked just right. We were thankful for a truly well-equipped kitchen (even salt and pepper), washing machine, recycling options and a comfortably warm flat (Edinburgh can have cold summer nights). It is practically 2 minutes walk to George Street, 5 min to Princes street, 10 min to Waverley train station, in between the Old Town and New Town of Edinburgh, plentiful fashionable cafes, restaurants and shopping all around. Thistle Street itself is well-worth a wander, with its unique boutique shops, jewellers and cafes. The staff are all really kind and helpful, thanks for the wonderful stay!

The apartment was very well appointed, clean and comfortable. Good location. Friendly staff and good service throughout the stay. Would certainly stay there again when next in Edinburgh and more than happy to recommend to my family and friends.

We arrived to a squeaky bedroom door and a broken toaster which we reported to reception. We went out and when we returned the door had been fixed and the toaster replaced with a new one. So nothing not to like as the defects were rectified very promptly.

The apartment was beautiful, as it appeared to have been newly updated and was impeccably clean. It was more spacious than we expected, and served us and our two teenaged boys quite well. The women at the reception desk were very helpful with directions and suggestions. The walk to Old Town, where most of our activities were scheduled, was not too far, and there were plenty of restaurants, and even a small grocery store within two blocks of our room. The train station was also an easy walk, even with our luggage. Communication from the hotel prior to our stay was excellent.

Despite the cool temperatures outside, no breeze came into the apartment when we opened the windows, so we needed to use the air conditioner. The air conditioning turned off in the middle of the night in both bedrooms, however, so every night, all of us woke up hot and uncomfortable, and needed to turn the air conditioning on again. Regarding the location, the 17-minute walk to Old Town was up a long and steep hill that became dreaded by the third day.

Perfect location walkable to many eateries n shopping premises; milk, tea, coffee, hot choco provided, easy to check in n check out, clean and comfy. Big rooms, spacious and feeling like a home. Washing and drying facility available in room, lift available to carry luggages, window can be opened for fresh air, cooking utensils n oven all available. Very convenient.

I wished the price can be slightly lower to be on par with nearby hotels/apartment. But understand the high price bcos of the quality n space one wil get with the price.

Air-conditioning in the bedroom! It was very warm during my visit and I was so glad to turn on the air and sleep well. I loved the little alcove with mirror and plugs to dry hair and get ready at. Nice touch. The kitchen items for breakfast, tea, coffees, a small jug of milk in the fridge were much appreciated.

What I didn't like was no fault of the facility. I had difficulty figuring out the washer/dryer due to being very different than the U.S. I would also add wash cloths/face cloths to the otherwise very well equipped bathroom.

This was a self-catering studio apartment with washer/drier, stove with an oven, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. I was able to do a load of clothes the very first night, and we were able to bring things home to the refrigerator. The bed was super comfortable with great pillows. There was a couch and table and chairs. The location was perfect, close to the Royal Mile and St Andrew Square where tour buses stop and lose to the train station. We would definitely stay here again.

Only one thing-we could not figure out the directions to the dishwasher. Otherwise this place was perfect.

Excellent location in New Town, less than 10 minutes walking from Edinburgh Waverley. Lots of food and drink options in particular, for all meals, close by. The apartment and the public areas were all very clean and tidy, and the apartment was well appointed particularly in terms of the kitchen facilities - all of the implements you could want as well as a full-size oven and hob, dishwasher and washing machine. The bed was comfortable and storage plenty. The shower was modern and had excellent pressure and temperature.

The room thermostat needs re-programming, on at least one night it turned itself up to 30C and we had to constantly set it back to sensible temperatures throughout our stay. At one point it triggered the AC unit! The televisions could be updated, the controls were difficult to use and are not "smart" so there was nothing beyond basic terrestrial channels.

The main reason I chose the apartment was for its location, which was perfect for where I was visiting, but I was most impressed with how comfortable the apartment was. It was easy for me to make myself at home - even though I hadn’t really planned for this. I was actually looking forward to getting back each evening to have a cup of tea and stretch out on the sofa with the remote control! Honestly, I wished I was staying longer when it came time to leave. I was also impressed with how well equipped the kitchen was; dishwasher, fridge, microwave, washing machine, plenty of utensils - and a teapot! And plenty of space to move around in. I hope I get to need accommodation here again.

I have thought for a while if there is anything I could find to complain about, and I can only think of the kettle being quite noisy, but that is all. And even then, I wouldn’t complain about it.

Fully furnished studio and two bedroom, even a clothes washer. Lots of glassware for wine, champagne, tea, coffee. Two TV in sitting area and bedroom. Thistle Street is a gem! 4-5 restaurants and the best, the Thistle Street Bar! All just steps away. And is walking distance to the bus station for day bus trips. We are very happy with our decision to stay at the Braid apartments.

Minor - stairs to first floor, otherwise perfect!
