Gordon Arms Hotel

The staff were ever so helpful firstly I was bringing my mountain bike away with me and they kindly upgraded my room to the bottom floor outside apartment style room for easy access which I could keep my bike in. In the end I was also running late for check in and they kindly gave me instructions and left a key outside my room. The local Moray Monster trails were just a short 5 min ride up the road loads to do there for all ages and experience. On my return back to the hotel they kindly offered me use of their outside hose so I could clean my bike which was really helpful. The breakfast was also really nice and freshly cooked to order no buffet style breakfast which I am not to keen on. I will definitely be staying again on my next visit.

The hotel was all up to expectation maybe the rooms were a bit dated but this is part of the character of the hotel.

The location was beautiful and we also went for a quick ride to the beach to see Bow Fiddle Rock which was lovely. Breakfast and dinner were great! I had a delicious mince and tatties for dinner, and a full scottish breakfast with home made porridge! We enjoyed everything we ate.

We loved everything, the food, the accomodation, the service!The only problem for us who are night owls is that the pub closed at 10 pm. But I guess it's the same thing everywhere in UK, so we got used to it.

Great Hospitality, friendly team, I liked the amazing cooked breakfast which set me up for the day ahead, could have stayed at the Travel lodge for double the price for essentially the same facilities. It was dated yes, there wasn’t an expansive cold buffet selection at breakfast, all you need to do is ask, it was clean and everything worked, tv, iron, hairdryer, shower, hot water, complimentary shampoo and gel etc, and it was quiet.

Dated - but charming

The hotel was very conveniently located, particularly for people wanting to visit the walled garden at Gordon Castle. The dining room served an excellent dinner. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.

The hotel is old and is showing its age in terms of paintwork, furnishings, etc. However, it does not claim to be a five star establishment and I was very comfortable there. For the price charged, I felt it was very good value. The staff members were courteous and helpful.

Great location. WONDERFUL staff. Everyone was so accommodating.

The only negative was that there wasn’t A/C in the rooms. As Americans, we just expect A/C… but there was nothing wrong with the rooms. If you aren’t American and expect your room to be a constant 68°, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel. I highly recommend it to everyone! You will not be disappointed. (The issue with the A/C is an US problem, not the hotel’s problem.)

The location was perfect for us. The food was exceptional. Big room with windows that open up. freshly renovated basic bathroom. Excellent Scottish options for breakfast. Plenty of free parking.

average beer garden located out the back amongst all the other buildings, but hey this is Scotland. good beer Gardens aren’t such a high priority. Hotel fittings and decor somewhat dated.

During our travels in our home country Scotland and in the rest of the UK, we always seek a warm welcome, a supportive & engaging & characterful staff team, clean & comfortable accommodation, good food, and competitively priced. The Gordon Arms provided all this in abundance, all facilitated by the exceptional staff - thank you.

A longer stay!

Location, meals and service really good. Even allowed meals in the room when I was unwell. Room Facilities were okay.

Room was very run down, needed some TLC. It could do with an extra chair and a small table oh e or stool in the ensuite or hooks to put clothes on. The mattress was uncomfortable with buttons.

The room was comfortable, right in town, and close to everything. Dinner and breakfast were very good.

We were perfectly comfortable. The facilities are somewhat aging ~ carpets, appliances ~ which didn't bother us at all, but some visitors might want something fancier...

Everything was excellent. Good management, nothing was any trouble for the staff, always on hand to help. The food was beyond excellent, obviously a fantastic chef there. Cleanliness was first class.

I can’t find a fault, it was all round excellent.
